Thanks! I also first thought about some eviolite mons like Piloswine or Klang. And yeah, I had Sandslash in mind as well haha (oops, just noticed I wrote Sandshrew instead in my initial post, edited).

As for Murkrow/Wobuffet: I'll first try without too cheesy tactics, since it's supposed to be a challenge, but if I have to... 😛

Haha yeah makes sense about not wanting to use those,  but could definitely come in handy against some high level bosses.

Don't forget about mons like snover and hippopotas to get a up a quick hailstorm or sandstorm to boost your sand slashes.

What are your thoughts about wishiwashi by the way? Because it starts at 175 total but transforms in battle into this beast with 620 base stat total. But it's slow with low hp so in my opinion you can get away with it 😜.

Makes me think, eviolite Duosion could be cool as well, you'll probably have some pretty slow mons as well so duosion can take a hit and set up a trick room if you want while still having a base sp.attack in 125(!) which is just as high as reuniclus'.

  2. Nice idea!

Wish you good luck with it!

You'll probably be abusing the f*ck out of moxie mightyena and swords dance alolan sandslash 😜

Don't forget the simple mons like swoobat and bibarel they'll be handy too.

I don't remember if the eviolite will be available soon but pre evolutions are available as well ofcourse so keep that in mind. Like eviolite gurdurr, piloswine, doublade or even chansey are very powerful.

I might even try this one out myself!

Minior is available too for some nice shell smashing. Intimidate Arbok could come in clutch even.

Quagsire is even available woah did not expect that.

(Alolan) marowak with thick club hits extremely hard, same for huge power diggersby and huge power belly drum aqua jet azumarill though. And pure power medicham ofcourse.

Vivillon is Nice as well for sticky web for instance.

You could also use it and something like venomoth to quiver dance up.

And murkrow and wobbufet for some sneaky plays.

Those are like pretty much all your options but when used well not even that bad now that I look into it!

I've been wanting to create the "all time favourites" team just for fun, the thing is that my favourite Pokémon of all time is non other than... Corviknight! That bird flew right into my heart leaving Empeleon at 2nd place. The thing is, i can't get a Corviknight in Pokémon Reborn nor i'll ever will. So do you guys know any game where i can make my dreams come true and use that majestic birb?

I know a game! Two even!

They are called Pokemon Sword and Pokemon Shield.
Really nice games with overworld pokemon and stuff.

    Update: I kicked her butt!

I ended up trying it without using Castform first cuz I wasn't sure if he would stop obeying me if I leveled him to 25 to learn weatherball and was still able to pull it off.  I used Gulpin, Koffing, Makuhita, Woobat, Pancham and Klink and was able to beat her the first try with that team.  Loving Reborn!  Anyone who hasn't played Reborn hasn't played Pokemon, they have only played the tutorial 😄 Thanks guys!

FYI; pokemon stop obeying you when they are 1 level past the level cap, so at 26,31,36 and so on.

Good luck with your non-starter playthrough! Really like the idea.

  5. I would go with the second one as well.

Greninja is meant to out speed and kill with stab attacks. And his level up moveset is not that great until later on.

But Frogadier gets smack down at 33 which is really helpful. So imo you need that attack boost early on in this game.

Later Greninja gets Extrasensory but tm dark pulse is quite late available as well so you could teach him night slash (with the move relearner) if necessary, otherwise at lvl 77 but idk if dark pulse is available by then.

So an increased attack is really not that bad just like his 95 base attack stat. And as @Wolfox said you'll eventually be able to change his nature when needed.

  6. Swampert (mega, sweeper)

Volcarona (Defensive Quiver dance (sweeper), defog-roost or just straight up offensive)

Excadrill (sash rocks, sweeper, ballon, also a mon with so many options)

Aegislash (always nice to be able to trick the AI with King Shield + sacred sword, sweeper)

Trevenant (Defensive leech seed with horn leech, will-o-wisp or something like D-bond)

Haxorus ((late-game) sweeper (dragon dance or even swords dance) + extra water resist)

    rotation:

    Tauros (ghost immunity, intimidate)

Jolteon (speed control and volt switch + gets rain dance for mega swampert)

    Bisharp (Suckerpunch and dark resist)

Talonflame/Xatu/Gliscor (ground immunity, defensive defog + get a strong prioritised brave bird off, or magic bounce, or Toxic orb poison heal with swords dance)

I really love Corviknight and Dragapult as well but they won't be added to this game so at the end this is what i would pick out of your mons i guess.

  7. Calm mind Simple Swoobat put in a lot of work for me early game in one of my first playthrough. It gets Calm Mind at level 29 and Air slash not much levels after.
I remember that i stopped using him when he was like level 50 so that's a long time it was usefull for me. But depending on your other team members it could potentially put in more work for you.

That being said, for lategame i would definitely go for screens. Blaziken works really well with screens. So you could get a A-sandslash and get the Arora-veil TM at Serra and later on swap it out for a A-Ninetales. Sharpedo is good behind screens as well.

Straight up offence is most of the time not a great idea to deal with the power Reborn attacks you with. With shift on it could work ofcourse but I always depended on pure luck at the double battles with my first playthroughs cause of I didn't had anything to take a hit so i could heal my mons.

You could also go with something like a calm mind Slow Bro, it's kinda offensive, but can also take a hit if it needs to.

But like @WildRoad said the rest of your team really depends on the mons you like to use and the playstyle you have or want to use, it's not like here are the 5 mons who go good with Blaziken haha.

Seriously, it feels like it. I've been trying for 4 hours straight (roughly) and NOT ONCE have I gotten a Torchic with either Adamant or Jolly (no problems with getting the hidden ability).

It's so bad that I'm starting to question whether or not the game being RNG is really the truth. That may seem harsh, but that's how frustrated I am. 😡😡😡😡😡😡

And no, since I've just started, I obviously don't have anything to trade. Unless you want a Potion from my item storage. That's it.

haha you have to trade a pokemon back

I don't need anything back, just trade the torchic you got as a starter back.

  9. 3 minutes ago, Draco456 said:

Or, really, how generous the developers of the game are feeling.

    well actually no,

It's not like they changed the download right before you clicked it to a game-file where the chance of getting adamant nature or speed boost on Torchic is lowered 😛

Jokes aside it's completely RNG like stated before.

But if you really don't like to refresh i can probably trade you 1, not sure if i have 1 ready though.

As far as i know you only need to run Reborns Game.exe as Administrator. If you do so, the game will offer to install the fonts if they are not correctly installed already. Correct me if i'm wrong.

    Yess it worked.

    Thank you!! 🙂

    Hey guys,

I just transfered my gamefiles and savefiles from 1 laptop to another. When I start up my game now the fonts won't work. When i install them again it says that they're installed but they still don't work. Does someone have a solution for this?

    N1Dude,

    Nobody?

Guess that leaves me to re-install the game then.

  12. @doombotmecha A long time ago I posted something for Terra as well. I suggested Claydol as a pokemon to beat it with.

I'll just copy paste and put the comment underneath for you to look into, I personally thought that's something worth trying and it works with the same principle as your Clefable but if you want to keep with your clefable and scolipede that's good too ofcourse!

    Spoiler

You can even just use something like claydol. The glitch field makes it that whichever stat at the special side is the highest gives it the special stat. Claydol has levitate so is immune to ground type attacks and has base 120 special defence, so this makes it 120 base special attack too. In this field psychic attacks are boosted by 1.2 times and it gets Extrasensory so this becomes a 96 base power + STAB move. Give it a Synthetic seed to boost its defence and special stat even more so you hit even harder. Claydol also gets cosmic power which boosts special defence and defence so in this field it also boosts your special attack so you can set up. It also gets heal block so you can even prevent Palossand to shore up and Quagsire to recover. Last i'd run Explosion. It's a 340 base power move in gen 1 so you'd hit hard anyway.

Oefff i'm getting excited! It would be so much fun to use this in the glitch field!
You even completely wall her whole team!

Nidoking, does not OHKO you but you DO OHKO him with extrasensory after the boosts of the synthetic seed.
    252 SpA Life Orb Sheer Force Nidoking Blizzard vs. +1 252 HP / 252 SpD Claydol: 143-169 (44.1 - 52.1%) -- 13.3% chance to 2HKO

Hippowdon, Literally can't touch you. Setup Fodder! Click cosmic power! You easily 2HKO him after the seed boosts but why not get more?

Excadrill, Can only click x-scissor. Good thing it isn't a steel type so extrasensory isn't resisted. He is faster but you OHKO him with extrasensory after the seed boosts as you can see:
    +1 252 SpA Mind Plate Claydol Extrasensory vs. 4 HP / 0 SpD Excadrill: 378-445 (104.4 - 122.9%) -- guaranteed OHKO

And he doesn't OHKO you even with a crit.

    252 Atk Life Orb Mold Breaker Excadrill X-Scissor vs. +1 252 HP / 4 Def Claydol: 151-179 (46.6 - 55.2%) -- 67.6% chance to 2HKO

Palossand, His Giga Drain is tricky because it has amnesia and the synthetic seeds. You 2HKO him with Extrasensory and 3HKO him if he gets up 1 amnesia. But after that he 2HKO's you and gets hp back so you don't 3HKO him anymore actually. You will need 1 cosmic power boosts so you'll be +2 in the special end defence stat to beat him. Good thing that shadow ball won't hit you because psychic types are immune to ghost type attacks in gen 1.

Quagsire, Okay this mon has unaware so that's just not fair. His blizzard will 2HKO you and your extrasensory 3HKO him so that's a battle you won't win unless he misses 90% accurate blizzards. You could heal till he misses or runs out of pp and set up but that's just kind off an Unorthodox method isn't it. I'd say heal block and boom with explosion (you're faster) so that your other mons can clean him up for you.

Last is Garchomp, Garchomp won't do NOTHING to you.

    +1 252 SpA Garchomp Draco Meteor vs. +1 252 HP / 252 SpD Claydol: 111-132 (34.2 - 40.7%) -- guaranteed 3HKO (+1 cause of assault vest).

You can even come in on him without the seed boost and he still won't 2HKO you with craco meteor.

    +1 252+ SpA Garchomp Draco Meteor over 2 turns vs. 252 HP / 252 SpD Claydol: 265-313 (81.7 - 96.6%) -- not a KO.

LOL i got Waaaaaayy tooo in to this. Was going on a rampage lol. Got me way too excited. And i know it isn't simple anymore and it won't probably help him but it just looks so great doesn't it? Is there a way to redo the battle so i can use this without having to do a whole new run? 😛

Anyway i hope you beat him soon enough so you can progress with this awesome game!

I'll drop the link of the thread here as well 😉

I guess i forgot/did not know about this as well at the time lol

@N1Dude Just wanted to drop by and say thanks for all of this. As someone who never truly understood competitive Pokemon, putting it in these terms helped me "get" team composition a lot better.

    But you should really thank;

    And if you want to get more into the competitive scene;

This man taught me everything I know.

He explains his thinkingproces during battles very clearly, builds teams very precisely and I'm sure he will help you guys a lot! I'll recommend you guys to watch his latest Delcatty video.

In this video he picks a random pokemon, then builds a team around it and then brings it to OU-tier. You really should check it out for yourself, very inspiring.

but I was thinking of something like this

    Spoiler

    4 physical attackers 2 special

3 defensive mons 3 attacking, win cons

  18. 1 hour ago, Krellian said:

Wow.... It actually did help a ton! I did think of excadrill, mega scizor and someone else (you mean a sand weather double right?) and i liked how it even managed to use my starter!

Now, i have some questions about a few things:

1 - Instead of Stealth Rock, how about Toxic Spikes or Spikes? I could use a toxic spike / venoshock situation with, lets say, a Roserade? 🤔

2 - Since both Tyranitar and Primarina are considered "slow", how about putting a tricky room pokémon? (musharna, maybe)

3 - why assault vest? I dont get, Tyranitar already has 100 BP of Sp. Def

Well if you really want spikes I would go with a Chesnaught in your last slot. Your ground weakness is still very much a live and a poor physical defensive roserade won't help with that. And if you don't know the opponents team a t-spike is risky because he/she can just send out a poison type the next turn and your t-spike is gone. So i guess that a Chesnaught with spikes is a really good alternative.

Well you could indeed mess around with some trick room, but because you're running defensive scizor you want his U-turns to be slow otherwise the pokemon coming in has to take the hit.
A slow tyranitar with that much bulk and power isn't a problem as you will see later, you could run choice scarf primarina. Primarina is a popular mon to be choiced, either specs or scarf, both works. Depends on your match-up but isn't that always the case? 😛  You could ofcourse try it out, I would recommend Reuniclus as your Trick Room setter. Bulky, hits hard and gets calm mind.

True but you want to exploid the strong sides of your pokemon. You want him to live as much hits as possible as a special wall to be a thread with his physical power.

    For example;

    Tyranitar @ Assault Vest
    Careful Nature
    Ability: Sand Stream
    EVs: 224 HP / 32 Atk / 252 SpD
    - Rock Slide
    - Crunch
    - Pursuit
    - Earthquake

This set lives 2 specs hydro pumps of Greninja and KO's him with 2 Earthquakes or Rock slides.
252 SpA Choice Specs Greninja Hydro Pump vs. 224 HP / 252+ SpD Assault Vest Tyranitar in Sand: 150-176 (37.7 - 44.3%)

    32 Atk Tyranitar Rock Slide vs. 0 HP / 4 Def Greninja: 147-174 (51.5 - 61%)

And the more it lives the more satisfying it gets for me at least ^^

You could run smooth rock ofcourse to give your excadrill more turns, but could damage the rest of your team as well. Or you could even make it banded or something, but again that's just really your choice what you personally prefer the most 🙂

  19. 41 minutes ago, Krellian said:

    Fello fellas, Krellian here!

Guys, the thing is: with EP. 19 getting close by the day (i hope soooo much!), i decided to rerun the game. But now i know so much about the game (which pokémons can we get before/after each gym, where to, how to) that i feel kinda lost with so many options.

In this rerun i've decided to: create a balanced team, with 3 physical attacker, 3 special attackers (they can be bulky, glass cannon, doesn't matter) and with no repeated types. But im strugling at choosing the types i want for the team!

So, long story short, i would like to know your opinion about which pokémon types you believe are essential for such team, which can be avoided, which caNOT and etc.

Thanks in advance for all replies and sorry for the broken english

PS: So far ive chosen these types: Fire (Arcanine; love that dog!), Water/Fairy (Primarina; new run, new starter) and Poison/Ground (Nidoking; like him a lot, but maybe not enough to be here forever)

A balanced team doesn't have to mean that it has a 3/3 ratio with special and physical attackers. It might as well be 4/2 or even 1/5. All you need is some support pokes and like 2 win conditions.

Start thinking about a damage dealer/winning condition first.

You could go OP straight away and choose the Tyranitar-excadrill combo. Assault Vest Ttar with Swords Dance excadrill will get you a lot of wins. Hop a defensive (mega-)scizor on it with U-turn and you have a quite powerfull team already with no repeated typings.

In my opinion Dark and Ghost type coverage on the same team is a waste of STAB cause they cover both the same types, in Ghost and Psychic.

You can now think of your second win condition, maybe a nasty plotter? Salazzle? Or if you want to put the work in for it, Naganadel.

You have 4 pokemon now on your team, the last step is just looking at your weaknesses.

You're weak to fighting types and ground types so a Primarina would definitely benefit the team a lot!

Last but not least you could pick like a Stealth Rock setter or just something to go all out attacking with, what balances your team out more is up to you because i'm not testing it 😛  Maybe something like a Ferrothorn or a third win con in like Z-Clanging scales Kommo-o. Should be a lot of fun as well. Or just a screen setter in Espeon. Get rid of the dark, bug and ghost types with Ttar and scizor so you can set up screens with Espeon so you can sweep with your win cons in Salazzle or excadrill. Should work as well idk 😛.

Hope I helped you a bit and gave you some inspiration!

  20. I got bored a lot between episodes so i've got a bunch of mons around level 90.

    OP (Naganadel) @ Dragonium Z
    Ability: Beast Boost
    EVs: 252 SpA / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Timid Nature
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Flamethrower
    - Sludge Wave
    - Nasty Plot

    ExcaKill (Excadrill) @ Soft Sand
    Ability: Mold Breaker
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Earthquake
    - Rock Slide
    - Iron Head
    - Swords Dance

    5timesakil (Heracross-Mega) @ Heracronite
    Ability: Skill Link
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 Def / 252 Spe
    Jolly Nature
    - Close Combat
    - Bullet Seed
    - Pin Missile
    - Rock Blast

    Lemmegethp (Slowbro) @ Leftovers
    Ability: Regenerator
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SpA
    Bold Nature
    - Psyshock
    - Flamethrower
    - Scald
    - Calm Mind

    Cantkillme (Goodra) @ Assault Vest
    Ability: Sap Sipper
    EVs: 252 HP / 252 SpA / 4 SpD
    Mild Nature
    - Dragon Pulse
    - Muddy Water
    - Sludge Wave
    - Power Whip

    BP'stoofast (Scizor) @ Metal Coat
    Ability: Technician
    EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SpD / 252 Spe
    Adamant Nature
    - Bullet Punch
    - Superpower
    - X-Scissor
    - Swords Dance

That's how i want it to be in the end. Cause i know Calm mind slow bro isn't available yet.

Thinking about making Scizor U-turn over X-scissor and making Goodra Dragon tail for some extra support against special sweepers. I might add slackoff as well on slowbro instead of flamethrower, but will see 🙂.

  21. You have a really big fighting weakness!

I'd recommend to switch out lycanroc-dusk for a Pallossand or a like a gliscor.

A ground type is always welcome and they can both be switched in fighting types if they don't carry ice type attacks.

Bullet seed on technician breloom is better. Cause you have 62,5% chance to do more damage then the 80 BP seed bomb. 2 hits give you a 75 BP move while 3 hits is a 112 BP move (!).

He should have Swords Dance as well later on and you should consider running mach punch on it over drain punch. With it's lak of speed mach punch might be better on it. When he get's SD you should switch Weavile's and Breloom's items. Breloom Life Orb and Weavile Choice band.

Physical mega lucario is always better than a special one in my opinion. But i understand you running special cause otherwise you have to rely on 75% acc iron tail or you have to got through all the troubles of breeding Meteor Mash on it. But Swords Dance Close Combat hits like a truck!

You should consider making Espeon a support mon as well.  You couldMake it screens, you have some really vulnerable mons so they might really benefit from the screens to set up SD's or something, It should have max hp ev's and max speed ev's then.

I'm not sure if Umbreon really fits in this team. Unless You're going to switch out one of the mons for a bulky one cause he doesn't really have any options to pass his wish to. They all just die in 1 or 2 hits. Unless they're behind screens ofcourse.

But hey you've really put in some work in the EV's and you use the pokemon you like so you should keep doing that! Clearly you're very proud of your team and I just hope that my tips will help you build this team better and make you happier using it 🙂

If I understand Stance Change correctly the stat change happens AFTER evs are added to your stats, so investing in Defense will give you greater Attack in Blade Forme (and of course better Defense in its default Shield Forme). With that in mind maxing HP and either defensive stat depending on whether you want to use special or physical moves should be a priority. Physically attacking Aegislash are definitely the better sweepers with priority and a boosting move but special attacking ones still hit like monster trucks and can afford to run more defensive options like Toxic or Will-O-Wisp.

Well i checked smogon with my EV-spread. To the left is my spread and to the right are my in game stats. They are the same and my invested attack is in blade-form (I shadow sneaked a vigoroth) clearly way bigger than my special attack but they have the same base stat so my attack has to be invested. So i don't know if you, showdown or pokemon reborn is wrong lol.

I guess you can see them as 2 different pokemon and not the same pokemon with a stat shift.
