Nice. Probably replace Alakazam and Aggron with lycanrock and honchcrow.

Stab sucker punch=Bad time for Fern's Decidueye.

And make sure to bring plenty of Cotton Candies. Even with the right team set, it never hurts to have these on hand.

Yet i'll never know why these are so much more expensive as opposed to regular revives.

Are you really sure about Honchkrow? It's slow and frail... It's level 67 and I can't even train him in the clown of Agate Circus against same level pokemon because it keeps getting outspeed and one shot even by non STAB moves...

Not much to say. You're team seems relatively solid. Ya know, save for three of your slots being weak to Earthquake. Which Solaris is an avid fan of.

If possible,  Definitely add a mon who can set up Stealth rocks (Possibly Lycanrock)  He has a tendency to swap out Staraptor now and again.  And to my knowledge,  neither he or the aid he partners with has a method of getting rid of 'em.

Also what's the setup of that honchcrow?

Maybe the Lycanroc, the Alakazam hasn't been that useful, Stealth Rocks are always nice to have.

The Honchkrow has Night Slash, Sucker Punch, Wing Attack and Taunt with Moxie. I have a lot of Heart Scales and an Ability Capsule.

Yeah, this one can be a trial. And this ain't even the worst yet! Lol .

But anyway, a common strategy is to focus down on the weaker half of the pair. That way,  It's basically a 2V1for whomever remains.

Personally i always struggled with Solaris' Electross. Either aim for Solaris or the aid giving him support first.

As for Blake and fern, definitely go for fern first. Might also want to try entry hazards for a little extra chip damage.

Yeah I definitely thought of that, the problem is that you have no control over what your partner does, especially against Fern+Blake, Blake leads with a Walrein and Florinia's grass pokemon are bound to knock him out sooner or later, but I'm gonna try that out against Solaris. Do you think my team is fine or should I make some changes? Thanks for the advice!

  4. Sorry for posting a lot lately but I find myself needind help a lot and this is the best place for it.

So the Meteor grunts, Blake+Fern and Solaris battles are a doozy, my problem with it is not the fact that they are in a row because you get your team healed, but the fact that their teams are so diverse that its very hard to have a perfect team for this, especially a pokemon to lead all 3 battles.

Right now I have Blaziken, Aggron, Walrein, Mamoswine, Alakazam and Ampharos all between 71 and 73.

Notable pokemon I have in the PC: Swirlix, Electrike, Numel, Happiny, Trubbish, Skuntank, Pidgeot, Spritzee, Growlithe, Klink, Nidorina, Grumpig, Nuzleaf, Galvantula, Phanpy, Smoochum, Sharpedo, Squirtle, Misdreavus, Honchkrow, Claydol, Croagunk, Budew, Snubull, Lycanroc, Houndour, Roggenrola, Makuhita, Cyndaquil, Piplup, Solosis, Rotom, Fennekin and Scraggy (a lot I know).

Is there anyone on my team I should take out? If there is, what pokemon from the PC should I use? I'm willing to train multiple multiple pokemon to the proper level. The furthest I've got was to the middle of the battle with Solaris and even that took a lot of luck against Blake and Fern.

  5. Update: For the 1000th time this playtrough, Bulk Up + Speed Boost Blaziken saved me, the Palossand could not touch me so I just setup with no problem and one shot the rest of his team. Thanks for you guys who gave advice!

  6. Terra's Palossand is a ground type, so why is that it does not say it's super effective when I hit it with water, ice or grass type moves? Even when I change the terrain I can't touch him, my Walrein's Blizzard doesn't even do half damage but almost KO'd Garchomp even with the sandstorm up, my Mamoswine's Ice Fang only does 25%, I taught my Blaziken Shadow Claw just to have another super effective move but it still does very little damage even in other fields.

I really would like to know whats happening, the games doesn't say the moves are super effective and the damage is not super effective, this is a little BS.

My team right now is Walrein, Mamoswine, Blaziken, Ampharos, Aggron and Alakazam. Alakazam takes out the Nidoking in one hit (of course he outspeeds me despite the fact Alakazam has a 120 base speed stat and Nidoking only 85), Walrein takes out the Excadrill in one hit, if I let the Quagsire stack up Amnesias I'm in trouble because my only grass type move is Grass Knot on Alakazam but he's still beatable, Walrein or Mamoswine take care of Hippowdon and for the Grachomp Walrein takes the bulk of the damage and Blaziken como for the revenge kill.

My problem is that stupid Palossand, I have a level 65 Honchkrow in the PC but I really don't want to go all the way back and feel I can win with the team I have now, I also want to know why my moves are doing nothing to him and why they are not super effective when they should be.

Ability Capsules cycle through abilities like this:
    A0 >A1 >A2 >A0

Since Oblivious is Mamoswine's Ability 0, it will always change to Snow Cloak, its Ability 1. You'd need 2 Ability Capsules to get Thick Fat, its Ability 2, on it.

The same is true with Aggron. Rock Head is its Ability 1, meaning it'll always change to Heavy Metal, its Ability 2. As is the case with Mamoswine, you'll need another capsule to get Sturdy, its Ability 0, on it.

Wow did not know that... I thought it was random, thanks for helping!

  8. I'm not understanding how ability capsules work in this game, so I have a Mamoswine with Oblivious and I wanted to change it to Thick Fat which is his hidden ability, but it always changes to Snow Cloak no matter how many times I try. On the other hand I have an Aggron with Rock Head and an ability capsule only changes it to Heavy Metal and not is other regular ability Sturdy. Does an ability capsule has a chance of changing to any ability the pokemon has?

  9. Update: After 15 straight time where the quick claw did not pop (chance of thet happening is 3,5%) I finally get to go first and thunder wave MISSES, I would not belive this unless I saw it, this is unbelivable.

Update 2: After 2 or more tries with no quick claw pop I finally managed to paralyze him, he did not use a full heal so I managed to land 2 high jump kicks because he used a not very effective judgement on blaziken so I finally got a little lucky.

  10. So the Ditto-Arceus is probably the hardest fight until this part of the game and I have to beat it because I really want to side with Radomus. My team is Blaziken (with speed boost but even after one he doesn't outspeed the Arceus), Aggron, Skuntank, Mamoswine, Walrein and Ampharos. So my initial strategy was getting the quick claw to skuntank and toxic but he has multiple full heals and I can't outspeed with anyone, then I read someone saying that they had blaziken with speed boost, waited until Arceus used a not very effective judgement and killed him with 2 high jump kicks, but I don't outspeed after a speed boost.

Right now I have Ampharos with the quick claw to try paralyze with thunder wave I get some attacks off before he uses the full heal, maybe even try to use the field to my advantage and try to get 2 earthquakes off with mamoswine (which kills everyone on the field). Thing is, just like the Noel fight, the luck is not on my side. I already tried this 12 times and my quick claw never popped, since it has a 20% chance to pop, to not do that 12 times in a row has a 0,8^12 = 0,0687 so 6,87%, a really low chance. Also he has never used a flying, eletric or steel type judgement so he always kills me.

Guess I'll keep trying... If you have another strategy to me to use with my current team I will be thankful, if I still can't beat him after more tries I will need to go back and get a new team, this fight is a little unfair...

  11. It's because I have OCD and have to do "side quests" before main story stuff so I really want get all the webs/trunks out of the way and clear the puzzle before Vanhanen Castle. I do remember from my first playtrough that you can pass the gate on the far left of route 1 but I guess I'll find my way back, thanks!

  12. So I just got to Adventurine Woods but I don't have enough candies to get honey to use on the trees to clear all the webs/trunks. Can I go back to Reborn City to get more candy? Or do I need to do the storyline on Vanhanen Castle? Is there another way to ger honey?

what can I say, you got "lucky" on that particular try xD but that 1.15% is still higher chance than finding a shiny without the charm in Reborn, and I'm sure you have encountered shinies so think of it was a very rare but possible outcome

I just led with Galvantula, set up the sticky web and managed to outspeed the cincinno with blaziken and high jump kick him to oblivion, took me a few tries because I was counting a lot on moves like blizzard, high jump kick, rock slide and they kept missing. The Bewear was probably her thoughest pokemon to me because I had no pshychic or flying types, the clefable was very easy due to my skuntank. Yes I already ran into 7 or 8 shinies going into Adventurine Woods so that battle was possible but still very aggravating.

  14. Damn I forgot about the 5 times he atacks so every hit has a chance to flinch, still, 41% chance 5 times in a row has a 1,15% chance of happening and 3 times in a row has 6,9% and thats still a very small chance, and it happened on back to back fights.

I'm gonna try a few more times because a high jump kick takes him down and I can get at least one off because I have speed boost, if I keep losing I might go get the throh, thanks for the advice!

  15. So obviously Cincinno has Skill Link because he hits tail slap and bullet seed 5 times every time, so I gotta know how I lost to Noel 2 times in a row because of him flinching non stop.

I know items like King's Rock can make you flinch but, if I'm not wrong it's only a 10% chance, In the first battle he flinched me 5 TIMES in a row and 3 times in the second battle. That's a 0,00001% chance of happening in the first battle, think about how small that number is, or I am the unluckiest person in the world or the chance of him flinching is higher than 10% which is BS. In the second battle he has a 0,001% chance of flinching 3 times in a row, back to back the impossible happened.

And I don't want to hide all the facts, in the first battle I paralyzed the porygon-z with discharge and he got paralyzed one turn, but I also missed a high jump kick that has a chance of landing of 90% and got a iron head off which has a 30% chance to flinch, with no flinch. In the second battle the bewear missed hammer arm but I also missed a blaze kick.

Two battles in a row where the numbers where so against me that is hard to believe that the opponent does not have increased chance of getting hax. I'm not accusing because I love this game but until now I was losing because I did not train or didn't have the right team but this time I got to Cincinno quite easily and lost because of BS.

And I do not have a speedy team, I have Blaziken, Ampharos, Mamoswine, Walrein, Aggron and Skuntank so I just had to sit there and watch fim flinch me to defeat.

Sorry for the long rant but I got really heated after all this BS, I'm hoping it doesn't happen again.

  16. So I have been using a Bibarel with Moody and has been really good early game. The thing is, I just beat Shelly and I need a better water type and I don't really know where to get one. I only know about the pool in Peridot but that only has Goldeen, I also have the static Panpour. Can someone help with where to get a better water type?

  17. Yeah Torchic seems like a very good first choice, and I haven't used a Blaziken in forever since I love Sceptile and Swampert. The thing with Reborn is that the opponents are so diverse that really any starter works long term, but I'm really feeling the Blaziken suggestion, thanks for the advice!

  18. So I played Reborn around the summer of 2017 and got to the end of the episode that ended with the fairy gym, I eventually lost my save file. Understandably, I lost interest after so much time playing and losing all my progress. But as I'm approaching 2 years after my first time and after so many nuzlockes (Storm Silver, Blaze Black, Blaze Black 2, Insurgence, Zeta, Sun) I miss the try-and-error style, dark story of Reborn, and I think enough time as passed so that I wont remember all of the story. I'm better prepared now, I'm aware of field effects and understand that you can't beat the game with one team, you need multiple pokemon to beat different opponents. I'm ready for losing the same battle multiple times (some I remember from my first time: the eletric gym, the chess gym, fairy gym, normal gym with that damn cincinno, Shade, etc), grind a lot and give a chance to pokemon I wouldn't normally use. Reborn is a very hard, complete, full of surprises, dark game, the best Pokemon game out there for adults. So as I start my adventure fot the second time, which starter should I choose? I went with turtwig the first time because torterra is one of my favorites and the first gym is eletric but I would like some input from more experienced players. Others I had in mind were mudkip (other of my favorites and one weakness) and froaky (never used greninja before) but I'm ready to use anyone, especially if it helps me in the beginning of the game. Sorry for the long post, if you have other advice I would love to hear it, wish me luck!
