They're in the den where you need to surf north once you got out of wispy ruins. Rare encounters, Abra only available after 8th badge, kadabra after 12th badge

Grimers are easy in the sewers, also a pickup team may help. Though this bug was actually fixed with the patches, you should update your game ;)

Ok so this may be stupid, but it happened to me: aside from extracting them and inserting them in the game folder, did you REPLACE the older files with the new ones? I had extracted them in a separate folder so the patch wasn't working lol

Do you happen to know if Flinch is effected at all? And are stat/accuracy drops effected at all? I had Giratina at -6 accuracy and it missed all its attacks until the shields were broken, then it hit 6 moves in a row. That seems like awful luck.

Dunno about fling, but regarding stay drops you've just been unlucky, I had the same strategy with my blaziken using sand attack and it worked pretty fine (at the 37thish attempt lol)
