  1. Mimikyu gave me a lot of trouble (and considering it's Mimikyu I was actually happy about that). I was down to my second-last Pokemon by the time I finally took it down, and if Araquanid went down, Litwick would not have been any good. If it had a competent partner I certainly would have lost (Haunter was so bad that its presence basically had no effect on the battle). Wishiwashi would be second. I actually got wiped out on it once, but I'd put it below Mimikyu because the second attempt I won rather safely. I think it was a design flaw to allow Wishiwashi to summon a non-school Wishiwashi; if that happens the battle would be far easier than it normally should be. I hear that Lurantis is very tough, but Ribombee 2HKO'd it and Araquanid eradicated the Castform it called, so I didn't really get to experience that myself.
  2. I find a lot of the UBs pretty nice (though Buzzwole and Xurxitree are kinda ick) but I'll have to go with UB01 Nihilego. I just find it so cute and I have to give it points for that unique typing. It's also probably one of the best UBs in terms of stat and move distribution as well!
  3. Not sure if any of this has been done before, but... Mystic Power: Doubles the Special Attack of the Pokemon with this ability. Psychic Connection: Doubles Speed under Psychic Terrain Limit Break: Increases Attack, Defense, Special Attack, Special Defense, Speed, Evasion, and Accuracy by 1 stage when at 1/3 HP or less. Decreases stats by 1 stage when healed above 1/3 HP. Paladin Soul: If an allied Pokemon is targeted by a super-effective attack, the Pokemon with this ability will take the attack in its place. Demon's Rave: All Dark-type attacks have a 20% chance of flinching. Melt Swarm: Fire-type attacks ignore barrier moves and opponent's stat changes, breaks Light Screen and Reflect, and eliminates the opponents' Defense and Special Defense boosts. Seraphic Whisper: Heals 12% of the Pokemon's HP when it uses a Fairy-type move. Noblesse Laser: When this Pokemon connects with an Electric-type attack, 20% chance of repeating the attack. Sprite Strain: Increases the power of all allied Pokemon attacks by 30%, except the Pokemon with this ability. Light Barrier: Upon being sent out, creates a barrier on the user's side of the field nullifying damage up to 20% of this Pokemon's max HP. Fails if a Light Barrier exists already. Doomsday: Increase the power of all damaging moves by 80%, but the user takes one-half of all damage dealt as recoil. Crossing Cosmos: If an opponent attempts to use a move that this Pokemon knows, it will fail.
  4. The only thing I don't like on this list is Yungoos tbh. While I agree the name isn't very inspired, I do like the design of Incineroar itself. Just not compared to the other starters I'm still holding off on planning a team because I have no idea about Pokemon availability but...I'm fairly sure that Mimikyu, Alolan Vulpix, and Bounsweet are going in my party as soon as possible, no matter what else I have. I don't even care if Mimikyu sucks gameplay-wise (though I hope it doesn't), I just feel compelled to use it at some point. Jangmo-O's line, Oranguru, the anchor thing, Wimpish, that sand castle, etc. and a lot more Pokemon all look cool too, so we'll see what I do with those...
  5. If Pokemon actually existed, I don't think that tiers and such would have nearly as much meaning. That being said, I'll just pick the Pokemon I would actually like to have around - and aren't legendary Pokemon that I'd have no chance of catching... Gardevoir - Gardevoir are empathic, and it'd be nice to have a kind, loyal companion who's capable of sensing my feelings. Fennekin - It's cute and looks very huggable. Might make a nice animal companion if I could make friends with one. Gengar - Would probably be a handful, but I'm sure a Gengar could add some excitement to my life. And maybe harass people I don't like. Altaria - A Flying type that can fly me places, and looks beautiful to boot. Greninja - Because who wouldn't want to have a loyal ninja bodyguard? Not Ninjask though; I'm afraid of bugs. Mimikyu - After reading its description, I immediately found myself wishing I could take one home with me and give it some affection.
  6. I'll have to say Fennekin. Fennekin is small, cute, and furry, and Braixen looks like a cute witch (even if they're usually boys). And while I'm not a huge fan of Delphox's design, it's still a Psychic type, and that alone earns it quite a few points with me. Fennekin having been my partner for Super Mystery Dungeon has only further increases the affection I have for it.
  7. Only read the last couple pages, but I feel like jumping into the discussion anyways. Or I should say, gushing. I am quite pleasantly surprised that Rowlet becomes a Ghost in its final evolution. Grass/Flying is a pretty interesting type to me, but Grass/Ghost even more so. I'm also relieved that Incineroar and Primarina turned out to be part Dark and Fairy like predicted - another Fire/Fighting or pure Water type would've been more boring. That being said, although Decidueye looks like a really cool Pokemon with the best-looking signature move and its pre-evolutions look so classy, I'll probably still be choosing Popplio to start with. And I may just be being hopeful, but I wouldn't write out Primarina's signature move just yet - we don't know the base power/accuracy of each move yet, and while balance has never been a priority, I don't think Game Freak would be so blatantly unfair as to give Prima a totally outclassed signature while letting the other two starters have potentially useful stuff. It might be extra powerful to compensate for the potential burn heal (if it were Hydro Pump with 100 accuracy, I'd totally use it), or it might be like Wake-Up Slap (which would kinda suck, but it'd set it apart). I really like how the Pokemon leaks this generation are getting some short descriptions - it feels like they add a lot more character to each Pokemon species than the typical Pokedex entries do. I think it's a large part of why I'm so hyped for the new Pokemon - I wouldn't be nearly as excited for some of the newcomers if all I had was an image and a few small details about them. Some Pokemon, like Drampa, Oranguru, and Mimikyu, I've downright fallen in love with due to their descriptions, and although I was completely uninterested in Litten before, Incineroar's description has made me think 'hey, this Pokemon is really cool as well'. I am also quite excited by how it seems like it's possible to fix IVs this gen - no more spending ridiculous amounts of time breeding and I may actually decide to try my hand at competitive battling again (not a big fan of Showdown, or Shoddy Battle before it). I'm also quite interested with what directions they'll take with these 'Ultra Beasts' - that's another thing that got me interested in this generation, the idea that we'll have these mysterious and powerful non-Pokemon abominations to contend with. While part of me is a little disappointed that they seem to be catchable and usable like every other Pokemon, I still love the idea of them and hope to find them playing an impressive role in the game's story/gameplay. Might be disappointed to expect things from the storyline of a mainstream Pokemon game, but I've got hope. Main things I'm disappointed by is the seemingly low number of new Pokemon that wasn't already revealed, as well as the lack of new Mega Evolutions, but I'm still holding out some hope that not everything they have in store in terms of new Pokemon was in the demo.
  8. Cool, thanks. I like Shiny Musharna so I guess I'll be resetting for it.
  9. Borrowing this topic: Can anyone tell me if in-game trades also not shiny-locked?
  10. Interesting. Another early-evolve Bug. Maybe I'll use it if I need to later. Anyways, I went in with Teddiursa in the end and won against Julia with 5 Pokemon left alive...not because of anything Teddiursa did, but because Electrode missed Sonicboom TWICE on my Tynamo who was already like, +3 on Sp. Atk by the time Electrode came out. That was just evasion hax working in my favor. Thanks for the tips though!
  11. Oh, Ekans gets a good matchup later on? Seems like it might be worth raising then. Thanks for the help. I'll make another attempt soon.
  12. Ah...hahaha...actually I knocked that one out, and didn't bother resetting because I would've lost quite a bit of progress and I don't like Gulpin anyways. As far as Poison types go I already have an Ekans partially trained up. Might give it a few more levels and then give it another try. EDIT: Also I found the Teddiursa even though I was certain it wasn't there an hour ago, or yesterday. Actually...yes, I'll try Teddiursa.
