So, I got together a bunch of friends and we watched Ghostbusters 2016.
In the entire 2 hours and 10 minutes of the movie, I don't think anyone laughed.
In the original, most of the comedy worked with the story. There was a sense of flow, and the movie didn't "stop" to tell a Joke. Most of the jokes worked with the story, creating a blend of humor and storytelling that's enjoyable to watch.
In this film, they completely failed at that. A lot of the "Jokes" they told weren't funny, nor did they work with the story.
It's really just a poorly made film that relied on cartoonish characterization, controversial marketing, and a terrible script. I have no Idea how this made a 74% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Anyways, after the movie was done, there was a unanimous agreement among my friends that this movie was terrible. Even the girls in this group of friends were part of that unanimous agreement, and you know why that is important.
