  1. I'm sorry that you didn't find this game to be enjoyable, and wouldn't want to force anyone into playing something they disliked. And since you don't seem interested in advice as how to progress, I'll just say: Thanks for giving this game a try, I'm sure you will find many other great fan-made Pokemon experiences that are more to your tastes if you search for them.

I don't eat or enjoy chocolate unless it's at least 70% cocoa. The darker and bitterer, the better. In fact, South Indian chocolatiers has recently started experimenting in locally produced fine chocolates on coffee plantations, and I've already become an inveterate snob. Fine dark chocolates, with hints of spices, coffee, or even sea salt.

Honestly speaking, I don't perceive Chocolate to be "bitter" unless it approaches 90%, at which point gets kinda unenjoyable to eat. 86% is already cutting a bit too close for my taste. But 70% and even 81% still seems quite sweet.

Now it's gotten me curious. What is your opinion on +90% cocoa chocolate? I've tried 90% once, and a 99% cocoa chocolate. Both were incredibly bitter, and not something I enjoyed a tasting, but perhaps your tastes are different?

Cakes, and in fact any sweet food, does not appeal to me. I have a low tolerance for sweets; they get cloying too quickly.

Except for chocolate, which you quite clearly said appeal to you a great deal.

As for Coffee, I treat its enjoyment as an art. I believe that one does not merely drink it, like any mundane fluid. One experiences it. To consume something else at the same time is to me, nothing short of an insult. It's independent of any meal or snack.

And while I certainly respect your purist view on drinking tea/coffee, I can't say I can entirely agree with it. Tea, like fine wine, is best enjoyed in combination with something else. That's the whole point of the culinary arts, the combination of flavours can produce sensations that are greater than the sum of their parts.

I will say that it's the only one so far, haven;t had the chance to play any others yet. so my oppinion here may not be that usefull, but at least it didn't ruin my taste about the franchise

4 is an excellent game, it just didn't sound like what OP Supernova was looking for.

In either case, I can highly recommend Final Fantasy 6 and 9 once you've got time to play them.

I'll say this, while 4 is hard(especially the DS version). it is a fair game overall. some things are kinda obscure but usually it just depends on exploring everything and strategizing.

If I may ask, how many games in the series have you played, Fox?

  6. Okay, if your priority is on having a good story, I'd avoid 1-5. While those definitely do have nice stories, especially 4, it's simply not that much of a focus as in the later entries. The difficulties of 1, 4 and 5 are especially high compared to later entries, so I'd avoid these if you want something easy. 4 is especially brutal compared to the rest of the series, and probably the most difficult FF game outside of end-game battles in Final Fantasy 12 and 13.

So now that we've gotten that out of the way as someone who's played most of the later entries in the series, here's my takeaway from the last 4 entries.

6: Is by many considered the best game in the series, if not among the best video games ever made. And frankly, I can't disagree with this. It's got a huge cast of characters who are all very lovable, and a very good and fleshed out world. Difficulty wise, it depends entirely on how much you explore the world. This is very much an RPG game with many optional side-quests and areas that give you access to strong equipment that you won't find on the main path. So as long as you take your time to explore the world you shouldn't have much trouble clearing the game, though if you avoid doing so it becomes much more challenging.

    7. I'm slightly torn about this game. The gameplay is severely more shallow than the 6th entry, and the graphics are kinda ugly compared to the 6th and 9th entries who both have beautiful artwork. But at the same time, I'm in love with the characters of this game, and it's got some incredibly powerful and emotional moments, it's also got the strongest opening of any Final Fantasy game, with the first 8 hours being a bombastic ride that just keeps going up and up, at which point the middle section falls short of how good the first and last sections of the game are. Overall the other entries have a better-paced story. That isn't to say that it's a bad game, as I love the world, characters and villains. But overall I'd say it's weaker than the 6th and 9th entries.

    8. Haven't played this one, sorry.

    9. This is by far my favourite entry in the whole series, the characters, the world-building, the music and the graphics just come together in such a good way to make an unforgettable experience. The main characters are my favourite in any Final Fantasy game, and the story, while being overall being weaker than the 6th entry, is better executed with more memorable and emotional moments. I personally didn't find the game to be that difficult, but it was definitely more of a challenge than the 6th and 7th entries, which I greatly appreciated as I breezed through those two way too easily, which made the second halves of those games too easy which overall detracted from the experience. FF9 meanwhile has a very well curved difficulty that always challenges the player while not being unforgiving.

Overall, I'd say you should start with the 6th game as it's got the better gameplay and better overworld and side-quests. I recommend you play the GBA version with the audio of the SNES version patched in. This is the optimal way to play the game.

Hmmm, Ame is a girl, right? So, the correct sentence would be: "If Jan is evil, then Ame must be Lilith incarnate" ^_^

Eh, Lilith is the failed spouse of Adam in Hebrew mythology and not really related to the core of evil in any way.  I wouldn't say the analogy fits, and considering Angels are pretty gender fluid, it's not far fetched to say to say Lucifer couldn't embody both male and female traits.

  8. In traditional Japanese tea ceremonies it is appropriate to eat something sweet before drinking your tea, as the tea is bitter and the sweetness of the cake balances out the flavor. This is rooted in both Buddhist and Shinto tradition.

I subscribe to this, as cake genuinely enhances the flavor of tea and thinking about drinking tea is quite cathartic. But most people seem to act in this way simply because they dislike tea which saddens me greatly as a lover of all things tea-related.

  9. So, you've got a cup of tea (or coffee if you prefer that) and a piece of delicious cake/biscuit/(insert other sweet here). Three choices stand before you now:

    1) You eat the cake first, then proceed onto drinking tea.

    2) You drink the tea, then eat the cake.

    3) You alternate taking between the two.

The question is thus, what type are you?

  10. If you decide to undertake this endeavor, I recommend that you do so because you find it an interesting challenge that can improve you editing and language skills, rather than doing it because others want you to.

I'd wager Zumi and Amethyst would still continue to work on their own projects, even if they were to get no exposure. That's the kind of mentality one should have in regards to these types of creative works.

    Serena gently touched Satoshi's cheek

There, I fixed it for you.

But otherwise I disagree completely. Pokemon XY is the only Pokemon series I can recommend as a genuinely good anime that I watched not because I was a fan of the series, but because I enjoyed the show for what it was on its own. Funny, dramatic and something inspiring episodes, little to no filler, perhaps the best fighting scenes in any anime from last year (seriously, the Ash-Greninja vs Mega Sceptile was pure gold), Tripokalon exhibitions with eye-popingly gorgeous animations , and without a doubt, the strongest supporting cast Pokemon has ever had.

I've watched aproximately 200 animes at this point, and graded each on a scale from 1-10, where around 60% of what I've watched has a score of 4 or lower. I gave D&P a 4, Advanced Generation a 3, and B&W a 2. But XY I gave a 7, and XY&Z I gave an 8 which should speak volumes about how much better it is than the rest of the series. I can highly recommend the series to people who've disliked the other Pokemon anime, or who just like good Anime in general.

  12. Isn't that just another way of saying that it's a classical trolley problem with the trolleys replaced any other arbitrary action? It's also a less elegant version, considering many of the factors involved are intangible, like how many people are involved, and how large of a commitment I'd have to make to avert the greater evil, and how much of the greater evil I would avert. It also doesn't state that I am the only one capable of taking this action.

These would all influence my decision, say I'd have to spend 5 years of my life averting this evil, to save 1 person from dying and as a result get thrown in jail. At that point I wouldn't do it since I could support other causes to make an equivalent impact and I wouldn't have to stain my hands with evil. For me to do this action it would have to have a sizeable impact and the amount of effort I'd have to exert be minimal. Say that we were instead talking about saving a million people, when talking about such a huge intangible amount of people, there's pretty few action I wouldn't take at that point. We talked about this earlier in the thread, and you even actively opposed my notion that the individual had an obligation to  sacrifice their life for the greater good, saying the individual has no obligation to do so for the sake of a world the world sacrifice them, even in the name of the greater good. At this point we differ quite heavily, were the good I would do to be sufficiently large in this scenario, I would do commit to taking the action.

Now where the arbitrary line between committing to action and inaction lies, I don't know. When killing 1 person to save 10 people in a Trolley dilemma I would pull the switch, but were we talking about killing 1 person to save 2, at that point I wouldn't do anything.

Say you had an incredible talent to be a politician and inspire people. You could do great good if you pursued such a career path, but you heavily disliked anything related to the profession and wanted to be a painter, despite not being a good one. Would you still chose to become a politician because you could do more good that way?

I think that's from v6-8. Because the only rocks that are in Venam's gym are where you battle her and I can't reach those. I meant v9 sorry.

I played through this part in V8. In the first large room you enter, where the path splits left and right. Right in the middle with the grass, there are a few rocks. There's an ability capsule on one of those.

  14. Ability  capsules are rare hidden objects and mostly tucked away as invisible corners of the the various of Reju.

The only location I can remember from the top of my mind, is one of the rocks in the middle of the first room of Venam's gym. Try to search those rocks and you'll find one.

  15. @Zumi I remember talking about those a while back and praising them very highly. And I can see why, they look gorgeous.

Sadly, since I use Photoshop Elements I can't use them, which is kind of a shame, and I can't justify getting the software, considering I only use Photoshop a handful of times a year.

Perhaps I'll download a trial of CS and try them out anyway ~

And in that regard, is it actually worth it for you to get the Creative Cloud pack over the Photoshop pack? Do you use the extra video editing and website making software?

Photoshop CC 2017! I have an Adobe creative cloud license which i need for my study c:

Thank you very much though! I'm glad you like my work!

On that note, what kind of brushes do you use? I can never seem to get the colours and strokes right when using Photoshop as compared to using Krita, where the brushes seem to be more vivid and alive.

  17. Fire vs Ice?

Wood. Let the Humans die, let the Others die too. Let the world return to the Children of The Forest (and Meera+Bran Who'll ride into the sunset on a Unicorn on Skagos)

Seriously? What cool things have the humans done? Built tiny castles, fought over petty squabbles. Same with the Others, who've just been sitting and doing nothing for 8000 years.

Now the Children... While everyone was playing with bronze swords, they had magic that shattered continents. They made magic biological computers. They've got Mind Control magic. Oh and they've got Bloodraven on their side, the coolest motherfucker in all of Westeros.

would you like to live in a world that has magic?

Implying we the internet, cellphones, airplanes aren't already magic.

If the question is whether I'd like to live in the world of magic from Harry Potter, or in the world of muggles, I'd say the world of the muggles is way better than the world of magic.

Magic is merely a means to an end, a tool to improve your own life. But due to technological progress, the magic that is shown in things like Harry Potter and Little Witch Academia has grown obsolete and mostly useless.

So no, I wouldn't give up my current life in exchange for living in a world of magic.

Between living as a commoner in a world of Steampunk or a world of Magictech, would you prefer the former? (Why?)

  19. None of the Pokémon you've requested are in the game as of yet. The only pseudo-legendaries currently available being Beldum and Goomy.

If you ask very nicely over in this thread and post you save file, a moderator may edit your save file and add one of the requested Pokémon.

But getting all 4 is kind of excessive as it would make the game trivially easy, considering both Gibble and Dratini learn Dragon Rage before level 16.
