It's time for my introduction, delayed by exactly one month. Lets start with a bit of background, I'm a 19 years old German who finished high school not too long ago, but hasn't matriculated in a university yet. I'll also apologize for any grammatical errors or weird word choices beforehand, my grasp of the language isn't as good as I'd ideally want it to be (e.g. I still can't participate in Viridescent's
annoyinglygreat pun threads). With no school there comes a lot of free time, which brings me to my hobbies: While I do spend at an hour or so outside each day, mostly jogging or biking on our great bicycle lanes, I also spend way too much time in front of my computer, watching anime and other TV series, just generally slacking off.As a long time Pokemon fan - I think I started collecting the TGC cards when I was 5 or so - my interest in the game and competitive scene mellowed out in the last few years, to the point where I couldn't consider myself much of a fan anymore. My DS finally died around the same time, so I didn't really have the chance to play the games anyway. Out of curiosity (and simple boredom) I decided to replay Crystal on my phone though, which also lead to downloading Reborn about a month ago. I was promptly blown away by the obvious effort invested in the game and the story which was unsurprisingly much better than Gamefreaks main games. My love for the franchise rekindled I decided to create an account on here and simultaneously replay my favourites like BW and Explorers. Got a lot of help and friendly advice here as well, that's always nice.
I'm waiting for Ep 16 now, playing Pokemon Desolation (Caz' great fangame, seriously, play it right now) on the side. Ah and not to forget, my unwieldy forum name Sohn der Höhe (obligatory umlaut öäöüöäöü) translates to "son of the height" after the Greek titan.
Hope we'll get along, don't mind the many commas, and prosit to shitposts yet to come!

As it seems, Flying has to be offensive, Fire is most probably leaning towards defense, and Water is so derpy it might be offensive.
Nah, Fire will never be defensive. I'm betting that Littens final stage will have high offenses. Water might be defensive again, and most certainly slow or with mediocre speed.

So... how does this work? Do I just download the game and then put my save file from the old version into the right folder?

Designwise, Rowlet. Litten is a bit plain and Popplio.. well, I don't want to offend anyone. But in the end their stats and final evolutions will decide it for me.

Well, they bind Dialga, Palkia and Giratina and were directly created by Arceus, other than that, no idea.

I agree with Narckarth for Gen 2, 3 and 6. It's not so much about 'what you are supposed to play', but 'what's the better story'. Gold, Sapphire and Y win in that category, they just make more sense in-game. Of course the 'true' story is always told by the third game anyways.

Eep! Now this looks like a scary field to face without a fire type...
On the other hand, I think a boosted Contrary Serperior might even be able to one shot specially defensive Grass-Type Pokemon in the last stages of the field.

Agreed. I think they look overdesigned, I know it's a buzzword critique but I'm still a bit disappointed. Xerneas and Yveltal are two of my favourite mascot/legendary designs and I expected Game Freak to deliver the same quality again.
Can't say much concerning the starters yet, owl is adorable, cat is fine as well, if a bit bland and I don't really like the water starters look. But those things can still easily change, e.g. I hate Snivy, but love its evolutions, with Serperior being my second favourite 'mon. Fennekin was my Gen 6 favourite at first, but after I saw Braixen and Delphox... no thanks.

The owl is called "Bauz" in German. I can't decide whether that's a terrible or great name, sounds a bit goofy in any case.

Thanks for the quick response. Not like I'll get there anytime soon, I'm still running around the woods EV training my Pokemon, which is tedious without power items, but I fear that my starter might become useless in the endgame otherwise. So the follow up question: are the EV reduction berries already in the game?
