  1. I don't have experience with the franchise prior to Awakening, but I'd go for that one as well. for the reasons that Ame stated + a little minority of characters might... appreciate it if you have played Awakening before ;)
Awakening is a full game in itself, while for Fates you (theoretically) need to get all three paths.
I like both of them a lot, but stretching Fates over three games imo eventually hurt the final path, both in the necessary endurance to put that many hours in (depending on difficulty I guess) and plotwise.

No! Pokemon Wet Moat is the best game to ever exist. Don't insult it like that. Nothing, and I say nothing, can ever compare to it.

    True and honest message

You might very well be right!  I was rushing it because I had to catch my train. will give it a second playthrough tomomomomorrow, what an outrageous slip of the tongue. possibly 7/7

  3. let's see I haven't played too many Zeldas, and only the N64 3d ones, so Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask are a start I would also recommend.

if you feel comfortable to take on a rather puzzly-difficult challenge, try games older than those - like Oracle of Ages (original for Gameboy Color - first one I ever played, gave me more than one headache).

The Minish Cap (GBA) is a rather cute adventure and not too difficult, but lots of fun!

  4. mine shows Snake (also known as Naked Snake and later Big Boss) and EVA from Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (for PS2 back in the days).
from the whole series, which is my favourite of all time, it's the game I like most.
Konami remade the game in the modern Fox engine - no, not to sell it, that would be exactly what fans would like. instead they used it for pachislot machines in Japan.
they released some of the HD art as wallpapers and there were some trailers as advertisement - one of which luckily featured this scene, which was shown in my previous avatar as well, but in PS2 graphics.

without going into any depth, EVA is trying to tempt the snake this time (reversing the scene from the bible) - however, love can bloom even on the battlefield (a main character asked about that in MGS1).
I like the romance between the two on many levels ~

  5. oh my, all this work going into Lin's Hydreigon while I have a feeling the battle itself won't be the biggest problem.
    as a matter of fact:
    Ame lost on purpose. Why?

Ame and Lin secretly are very best childhood friends. Their favourite pastime was ripping heads off of spiders, oh, it were happy times.
Their ways separated at some point, but given Lin's character as it is portrayed, she suffered severe emotional damage because of whatever happened after that.
When finally meeting again, Ame instantly senses that change within her.
Somewhere deep down resides old Lin, the happy, spider-head ripping Lin. That Lin doesn't like what she has become and of course is looking for a way out.
Lin has often thought about the time, the time when her world was still okay, and she remembered the joy she shared with Ame during said pastime.
Her innocent inner self never really understood the consequences, and the ruthless Lin that is visible to outsiders just doesn't care.
Inner Lin decides to send Ame a message, her last cry for help, which is interpreted poorly by outer Lin, as there would have been twelve Pokemon available as messengers instead.
She even raised her little Deino to become a Hydreigon, so she could have three chances in one to break free.

Knowing her way around the inner workings of a human, Ame already thought of all that. Unwilling to hurt the Pokemon, she reached her final conclusion:
If it comes to the worst, she would have to let it happen and be the ultimate sacrifice, the martyr-spider, so to speak, for the chance to bring Lin back to light.
    It didn't work. The end.

  6. I'll upload a little something for ya. I will edit this post when done with an explanation (very easy no worries) ~

edit: god bless slow internet. so, here we go! you gotta get this archive and unpack it with WinRAR: https://ufile.io/d42d7
it contains exactly the music that got changed (both E15 and E16 variant).
you might want to unpack the files into a little subfolder you can either keep or delete later on.

now you take out all the files you'd rather have from E15 and rename them to their original name, i.e. "Battle- Gym E15" to "Battle- Gym" and then simply move or copy them into Reborn's BGM folder and overwrite the files.
tada! the game plays the old music again.

I'm just the opposite. I want to burn as much of my time as possible asleep. Dreams are better for me than being awake.

So can I borrow this "dreaming awesome stuff" ? I often dream about things I wouldn't wanna dream about :D' (but that's not why I prefer to sleep less)
Idk there's a lot of awesome stuff out there wanting to be looked at!

  8. I overwrote every new file with the higher quality ones from E15, dug through GlitchCity's and Ame's Youtubes, cut Battle- Meteor and Battle- Wild (since there were some cut out seconds compared to the original), reversed the new Battle- Gym for the ReverseGym and added the Fade In for Battle- Meteor, so overall it should be exactly the same music but in high quality!

I've uploaded it here, but for now it's only up for 30 days counting from yesterday (517MB rar archive): https://uploadfiles.io/e4540

edit: for Timber Dragon, the old Battle- Gym is still around but has been repurposed to Battle- Meteor Admin, so you can rename and overwrite if you wish to!

edit2: an overview (careful! long list) for what Music has changed and what's still the same:

INonetheless higher quality option would be appreciated

I can only second this request. It feels like a really awkward step backward having 64-112kbit/s audio. I love all the music (the new tunes too, except for replacing Reborn Theme with Opal Ward Theme when opening the game :P), but I don't think it was worth to obligatorily cut the quality in half for reducing 300MB file size (which relative to the game is a lot, but in absolute terms, not so much).

  10. it feels as if you aren't really a part of the story. Just experience all the other characters stories as you tag along.

That sounds a bit generalized and overly negative if you say it like that.

Factually yes, the MC doesn't have his/her very "own" story, but think of the format a Pokémon game offers.
The best one could do is add specialized dialogue/scenes here and there
(thinking of it, that reminds me of the support system in Fire Emblem having to be implemented in a totally linear game).
There never was a lot of "role" in Pokémon and it's a huge field to improve on in the original game series, if they want to.
You don't even get a real story for other characters. Most of them you meet once or twice, except for your rival(s).
And it's mostly like "yo I've gotten stronger this time I'm really gonna kick your butt, but politely".
Having the little underlying romance thing in OR/AS going on was already a high high for an original game so far.
May told me she worries about me a lot. And thinks of me all the time.
And that I'm her very very very best friend.
After these words, Groudon and Kyogre cringed so hard they blew up Hoenn. :>
    Back to Reborn though!
Experiencing the stories of all these characters is what somehow makes Reborn Reborn, I feel.
As a reminder, just look at all these buddies:

    post-61368-0-08082200-1466860234_thumb.png

And those aren't even all the characters (but almost).
They provide so many instances to sink your brain and emotions into.
Let's take a rather iconic scene, I heard it involves a diary or something.
Did I think the decision to tell or hide the story would have a real effect on the progression? No. (Emmeryn??)
Did I spend hours thinking about it, describing the situation to friends abstractly (since I'm gonna make them play E16)
and asking about their take on the situation before deciding? Totally YES.
Should things like these affect if other characters are hell of a lot pissed about you? I agree with you, ideally they should.
    BUT:
Working through the whole game again and again to figure out the best way to influence all the relationships... whew.
It would not only be "what actions give me - or + for which characters", but also how to be -authentic- about it, leading into myriads of dialogue.
The workload seems excessive and it sounds like a last-official-release (or even a modding) phantasy.
I am not taking away from the idea itself though, it would round out the MC for sure,
and not to forget, some groundwork relationship variables will already be set with E16, iirc.
The whole region and story is filled with so much life by all these good/evil/wonderful/Fern/crazy/lovely/... characters.
There was only one game series that took a comparable toll on my emotions concerning its characters, which was Mass Effect.
I think all that we can think of to ask for are comparatively exotic icings on the cake!
  11. Roses don't bloom
    Violets don't bloom
    The Cheer Captain was here
    They all went kaboom!

Basically I have no real idea how to draw or paint, but excitement for E16 has gotten the better of me!
So I took Julia's two little images from the character page as template, just stuck to these closely and hopped into MS Paint (crinnnnge) for some days.
    Cheering for everybody! \o/
