How different is V5 from now? I was searching to no avail older versions of Rejuvenation to see how far it has come. I know at a point the game was completely revamped and wanted to see how it was before that

She could be Pure Evil. She could be trying to control us, since we are important to everything. If we are important, why would she let us die in Kugearen? In Black steeple, she would have had full control of us if she had trapped us in that soul stone.
Doesn't seem pure evil like that. Her interactions with us later suggest more to her than it seems.
Also, remember she thought Melia was dead when she tried to kill us. Meaning she probably thought the Light Prophecy was null already and wouldn't need more lights. When she realized Melia was allive and that ''changed everything'', she did actually help us, meaning Madame X has preferences for the Light Prophecy happening.
It's probably some sort of stuff like fate finds a way. The prophecies can't be avoided, so it's best to ensure the Light one happens OR, if the dark one is the one that will happen, it's best to have the shadows (like Ren) on your side to work around them somehow, like minimizing the damage that will be caused

So, two of the Lights at this point are probably the player and Melia. The shadows have Ren in it included as the Shadow of Betrayal. Kanon it's implied to be part of the prophecy due to Madame X's interest in him, and I'd put him among the shadows, specifically of Obssession.
Nancy being referred the way she was indicates non-human, making the player ''not a child of man'' also. One of the female sprites also resembles Nancy, indicating she is really the biological mother.
Marianette, on the other hand, although seems to have normal parents as Melia, demonstrated a bunch of superpowers, general virtues instead of vices and, considering Team Xem's obssession and actions of Madame X, she is probably one of the lights, as the death of one of the four of a prophecy would invalidate the respective prophecy and Team Xem demonstrated interest in Ren, one of the Shadows after that.
Angie also seems to fit the theory. We found her locked in the castle, she has supernatural powers and seems pretty important while seemingly not belonging to Xem.
Anyone remembers which were the Lights/Shadows? I only remember the shadows of Obsession and Betrayal. I think there was also one of evil

Anyone knows where the mega ring is acquired in the current version? I had one, but when I updated the game seems like I lost it. I already beat the ghost gym and no mega ring so far to me

I'm probably gonna need to replay from the start when version 9 reaches. That being said, is there any list of missable cutscenes? Cause sometimes I hear about facing Ren in the library or seeing how Angie was created and in my playthrough none of those things happened

God, can you imagine? We have Kanon and Ren, both who fit two of the shadows there, Melia and the player as two of the lights, Crystal/April, Lorna(Nim), Team Xem, freaking Team Bladestar, possible imposters who stomp at people's feet and fucking Medusa

My favorite character so far is Erick. He has something in him that makes him seem unreliable, but he acted his role as a reserve leader and protected the city during the chaos... even though he acted on impulse when dealing with the Pulse Garbodor.
The character I'm more interested in though is Ren. I wonder who he really is double-crossing when doing his destined role. Crescent played a hand in bringing him to Team Xem, at the same time, Madame X warned him over not betraying THEM. An ally in disguise perhaps?

I am making my own fangame alone, but I've had several years of experience as a both an artist and coder, so what you should be aiming for is getting the experience required right now rather than making a full-fledged game.

80+% At any time. So it's not like it's far from being completed. Keep that in mind!

Edgy isn't a matter of being dark or having dark things alone. It's that combined with writing.
You can put a bunch of cliches in a story and make it awesome if you know what to do. Conversely, you can be creative but ruin it with your writing. That's what makes dark things edgy
