I feel like ultimately, it is a single player game and it should be played in the way that you enjoy it most. Think about it like a food industry (sorry I work as a cook)
Ame makes her burger a certain way, and she never, EVER puts Jalepenos on burgers. Why would she? Jalepenos have a strong taste and detract from the rich taste of the burger. She puts jalepenos on other things in the kitchen, but not her burgers, which happen to be her most popular food.
Mortally Divine absolutely LOVES jalepenos,
he eats enough a day to kill normal mortalshe puts them on everything. Mortally Divine orders a burger, gets some jalepenos and puts them on there. Yum.Ame might not like the fact that Mortally Divine just put jalepenos on her burger! What the heck?!? She made the burger in a specific way, and that's the way it should be enjoyed? Right?
Well, theres an argument for that. Yes, the burger was not meant to have jalepenos on it. But, if Mortally Divine wants jalepenos, he will enjoy it more with jalepenos if he so chooses. Other people might not like jalepenos, might look at him eating it and think that it is disgusting or nasty, but that is how Mortally Divine enjoys it.
basically, the burgers Symbolize the game, and jalepenos the "cheating". Ame might not intend for people to cheat, and the game is great without cheating. But if some people enjoy it more with cheating, ultimately it is a single player game, and nobody is forcing anybody to cheat.

Personally, yeah, I've started using RPG maker to create some custom run files. I even added some rare candies. I've played, and plan on continuing to play Reborn as it was meant to be played on my 'Dynne' file. But when I want to play through the game again? I want to try new things, but I don't always want to deal with all the frustration I went though. I limit myself. Nothing absurdly over powered. I don't even speed up the game. Even with 'cheated' Pokes though, the game isn't easy. Reborn has not, and never will be a game you can just breeze through, unless I suppose you had a level 100 Hydreigon or something,
but it wouldn't listen soSometimes I just wanna play a game I like and kinda have a lazy time with it I guess! But I'm never touching my main file with any of those systems. I would cry if I messed something up.
And on the subject of going back episodes, while I wouldn't do it myself, I don't have a huge issue with it because sometimes I feel Reborn tries too hard to be... Well, hard! What with these differences between episodes. So what if people are breeding in TM moves? Having a Poke with T bolt for coverage shouldn't break the game, because then the game isn't actually hard, it's just making the player THINK it's hard. Not that I'd expect something so powerful early in game, sure, but I think the point still stands.

SCOLIPEDE. When I first saw it revealed in Gen 5, I had a moment of 'I must have this'. I'm not typically a fan of bug types, but how can I resist a pudgy centipede taur? And as a plus, its shiny is gorgeous.
Totally gonna train one for Reborn.

So I already went searching in the Azure Island and found nothing, and I already got the Shiny Stone in Citae Arc-d'Astrae. I've only used a Shiny Stone on one Poke and don't have any others that evolve with the item. Can anyone provide a screenshot of where its supposed to be in Azure? Maybe I'm just clicking in the wrong spots.

I am really hype for how Reborn has changed in this new update. After cleaning out the water systems I'm definitely eager to see how the denizens of Reborn are doing with such a huge, beneficial change. I finally feel like we've made a slight difference ya know?
Also all the general stuff. Do we know if any new Pokes or TMs are gonna be added?
In the meantime I'm just gonna be working on my team.

This is based off an incident where the real person who played Amaria in the online Reborn league got into a car accident and had memory loss for a while.
That does explain things, but I'm still not fond of the trope as a storytelling device.
However, I don't think Amaria on her own is a strong character as a result. She lives and dies by this amnesia facet.
Something tells me that won't be the case at the end of the journey - for both of them.
I hope.

I SO agree with you. At least that whole thing about the player being forced to read Titania's diary will be taken care of. Sure, the scene will still happen, but at least it will feel less more like it's your fault.
Really? Well that's something else to look forward to. I don't remember how the house looked exactly before it got flooded but I swear I remember it was still just sitting there. I just couldn't help but face palm when Titania gives Taka a talking to about getting away from something you don't like no matter what people think, and then... She runs away from Amaria once its revealed Amaria's got amnesia. Just talk about your problems.

I agree about Titania, I just. Ehhhh.
My reasons for disliking Titania are more attributed to her love life and not so much playing Miss Murder.
...and before anyone asks, it's not because she and Amaria are lesbians. That's perfectly fine.
Same here, really. It's not because lesbians, its just... Gggaaahhh I hate the forced romance drama. Like, leaving the diary out in the open. Are you kidding me. That is one of the most contrived, basic storytelling element to force the story along. And I am very fond of Amaria, but that whole scene, I just... I was not shocked, I was not saddened. I felt far worse when Corey jumped off Beryl bridge, and that's a character we've spent even less time with.
Instead, I wanted to face palm for how contrived it felt. Of course no one stops and tries to talk. I mean, okay, I don't have depression, so obviously I can't speak about it, but I still felt it was a bit dumb Amaria decided to just jump the waterfall once she figured out Titania was lying. But I don't blame her, I blame Titania for staying in this situation. I'm sure she's an upcoming gym leader, so I can't wait to beat her down and force some sense into her. And I also agree on the points of her killing the Meteor goons as pushing the EDGE a bit too much. And I get the point of her doing it, I do, but it was still too much.
Also the oh so convenient amnesia Amaria suffered just made me want to scream into a pillow. While I can't wait to see episode 16 and how the city looks now that the MC has cleaned the water system, I can't help but feel everything else we did in there was rendered null just by that.

If Arceops is you're issue, that's easy to counter. It's choiced so just have a Pokemon weak to EQ come in and switch if you think Serperior can take two EQs...which is a little risky but once you knock it down to half, it's completely worthless.
Well after a bit of extra grinding, Floatzel can take all of its attacks and take it out in a single, Electric Terrain boosted surf. I got to her last pokemon. Again. But I don't think I can handle that mega Altaria with what I have. I can outspeed it, thats not the problem, it's just the power boost. Maybe I could taunt it with my Zangoose and let my Serperior try and deal with it??
EDIT: Never mind. I just used perish song Murkrow. .... I've been stuck on this boss for 4 days. I'm not ashamed I cheaped it.

I'm pretty well stuck on Ciel. I got really close to beating her but it was partially luck, and my fatal mistake was misclicking a heal. Any strats to help get this though would be amazing. My current strategy has been to use Manectric first, throw out Electric Terrain, Thunder the Togekiss, then send out Serperior or Floatzel to deal with Archeops, usually Serperior since he's been able to tank its Earthquake and Rock Slide the best, and take it out with a few Sp. Attack Boosted Leaf Storms. But I usually don't get past Archeops unless I get lucky.

I'm not really sure what the community stance is on TMs and modding in final staged evolutions. Usually I say breeding moves and that's it since TMs will be available down the line. I mean they won't make a difference for broken easy effortless sweep for selections 1,2, and 3.
Tbh I'm taking 3 off after some thought, but I'm kinda willing to let the modders do what they feel they ought to do here. It is pretty darn broken, but I did this late at night in a rush.

I'm gonna start a dual type flying and poison run and since a few of the flying types I wanna use aren't available...! And Dan is cool bc I am eternally thankful for this little thread.
Feel free to swap around moves if particular movesets aren't 100% possible! And IVs/EVs can be treated similarly. Also, maybe surprise me with one random shiny? ;D Thank you again so much, this is pretty amazeballs.

It won't glitch out anything, just move your save file to a different place or rename it and you'll be fine. Then switch whatever file you want active to being the game.rxdata file in the right folder and leave the other one named something else.
You can find information on how to locate your save file here.
I did read it, but the individual save files in there are throwing me for loop. So would that mean moving the most recent save file someplace safe, and game.rxdata getting renamed?

Title says it all huh? Maybe it's because I'm annoyed at Ciel and her team, or maybe its because half my favorite Pokes are all partially flying types, but I've been gosh darn stuck on that 13th gym for a few days now and I think my brain just wants a rest.
But... I've gotten so far on this game I'm paranoid about trying to start a new save. I feel like I'd glitch out everything and I'm not keen on that thought.

What level was it when you caught it? If you caught it as a Swinub it should have it at level 24 (unless there's an area where you can catch Piloswine later in the game).
I caught it in route 4 while grinding earlier, I just checked and, yeah, it doesn't know ice shard.

If he's at the Circus, there's a Move-Relearner there too. He's one of the clowns inthe booths towards the southeast corner of the circus. He accepts heart scales just like the other Relearner.
Yeah I'm at the circus. Unfortunately my shiny Piloswine may not have come with ice Shard... But either way, I did get closer to beating Ciel than on my other attempts with it evolved as a Mamoswine. Maybe a few more levels will do it.

Until she pulled out the Mega Altaria. I probably could have beaten it too but I mis-clicked a healing item.

On the subject of bulkier mons (of which I will take that advice for Mamoswine once this is said and done and I can head back to Obsidia), aside from Mamoswine, I'm also thinking about Drifblim and Florges, and just caught a shiny Bronzor to train into a Bronzong. I kinda want a Steelix since I've got a metal coat... Gonna be a lot of hunting and grinding!

Ggggooodd I probably need to get a Mamoswine, I'm just absolutely -stuck- on Ciel. And I'm just getting so sick of grinding. Everything of hers outspeeds me, and that Archeops. God that Archeops. I'm not sure whether I could revive my Plume Fossil at this point out of pure dislike of it now. I just wish I could go to Lapis and grind easier, I'm tired of trekking through Ametrine and Route 4 to grind. But thats just me whining.
@Cyanna Cyril Yeah I've definitely noticed that trend myself. It's definitely just a thing that carries over from how I play the meta game... which is to say, I don't. Yeah I actually just caught a Piloswine... Dunno if I can evolve it ATM but anything helps at this point.

Since I finally got fly and am currently grinding to beat Ciel, I'm so relieved to be able to return to Lapis and do some grinding there. But that always comes with the question of what to grind to make into a team member, so I thought I'd ask for some help here.

Sorry to bring a dead thread back to life but I kinda accidentally found this and thought it would be a nice place to express my grievances.
My one big issue with Reborn is the villains. Some are really strong and interesting. Most... are not. I'll forgive Fern since he's intentionally just your basic Pokemon asshole-ish rival, but some of the other villain characters just aren't good.
I mean, when you get down to it, a lot of them just boil down to "jee aren't they so arrogant? Aren't they just so annoying and brash and prideful? Don't you wish they'd react more when you beat them?? Too bad lol they're bad, they're just annoying!!!"
Special mention goes to Terra because if I have to sit and listen to that character talk again, it'll be too soon. At least she has the decency to be an easy gym, Garchomp and all.
Sure not every villain has to be super complex but some more variety would be great. I'm getting a bit aggravated with these villainous characters essentially boiling down to "ANNOYINGGGG!!!"

While I'm not 100% sure I'm ready to get back to playing Reborn after.. A long time of just not feeling it, I did boot up my game and experience that well known sensation

I have 10 gym badges, HM Dive, and I'm quite sure I've gone through and finished the Crustle puzzle. The last few things I remember was going through an ice level, because I found a shiny Sealeo which I seemed to have trained up to a level 55 Walrien. Most of my mons are in a level range mid to high 60, aanndd.... Thats about all I actually remember. It's been since like... August since I've really played this game.

I'm curious: I've already got Nidorina (She is named Peace and is being trained to be a Fairy killer, will eventually also get a Nidoran male and name him Rhapsody, shipping pokemon don't mind me) and I plan on doing the Skuntank event as well, is it planned for us to be able to find and potentially catch all of Corey's released Pokes?
I really felt bad about it so a part of me feels that its sort of 'right' to go find them? I dunno, but I do hope that I'm not just wishfully thinking.
Anyone else feel this way?
