      I think that what makes antagonists bad is that they have experienced something that has either been denied them or something has been taken away from them. This denial/loss would make a person who had been 'good' turn to 'evil' in order to claim or reclaim that which has been withheld from that person and/or denied from that person, who would be of the viewpoint that 'the ends justify the means' as long as that person gets what he/she wants in the end, no matter the s...
