    why does cubone have lightning rod? It's unafected by all damaging electric moves so only status electric moves do ANYTHING and even then, they only raise SpAtk which isn't exactly a desirable stat for cubone.. The other option is rock head, which only affects Double-edged which I never use anyway...

      Again, no you aren't. Originally Lightningrod only redirected the atack, it didn't make you immune to it nor did it raise SpAtk. Those were added later. So yeah, back in Gen 3 giving Lightningrod to Ground-type Pokemon made A LOT of sense...
