  1. No this is an actual error with the game the only time this crash fix is applicable is when your game crashes because of something that isn't the game for example when the game crashes and doesn't give you and error message/log. If I'm not mistaken I think Jan fixed that error you're reffering to in version 6.2. I could be wrong though check the Bug reporting thread to make sure.
  2. [Important Notice] Read the Troubleshooting section to know if this Crash Fix is the right one for you. [Intro] So I've come across a little conflict with Media players that install special codec's for playing obscure media files (.MKV for example). And you might be wondering what could a media player do to something that has nothing to do with it. Well my friend you'd be surprised, because it can/will affect quite a bit of normal functions on your computer. But aside from that the main thing we are focusing on is Pokemon Essentials/RPG Maker games. [Troubleshooting] Now for some strange reason during certain travel sections/map hoping your game might just freeze on the black (loading) screen. If this happens then maybe it was just a random bug or something right? Well first take note of the aftermath. Is it just a black screen with no extra error popup? Is it saying in your window title bar "Not Responding"? Does a second (typically smaller) window popup that reads "ActiveMovie Window"? Well if you have the following symptomes then the issue is more than likely of an outside source and not the game itself. The next part is just explanation to why this is happening and why it's not really possible to stop it from happening without just removing the source of the problem. [Why Me??? sadface] Don't worry little whipersnaper there comes a time when you gotta just suck it up and stop downloading anime with weird mp4 file types. Sometimes you just gotta live with the good old normal mp4 file types that we all know and love. Does that mean you have to get rid of all your amazing episodes of Sword Art Online, One Piece, Death Note, and so on? NO! Of course not. That just means you'll have to find a better less angry program to play your over the counter dark alleyway totally not pirated file types. Now now I know what you're thinking, but sensai this had nothing to do with why I had to remove my 3rd party media player and sounds more like some personal stuff you went thro----SHHHHHHH we don't talk about sensai's personal life! oh wait am I talking to myself now? YOU: *stares at sensai in fear* '>_> Sensia: Nah course not anyways the reason behind certain (not all) 3rd party Media players conflicting with random programs is because for certain operations made within your program your 3PMediaPlayer (now will be shortened to 3PMP) will act all high and mighty and try to shove it's special codec down that other programs throat causing the program to freeze up in confusion and ultamitely crash. The only real way of stopping this would be to remove the codec that the 3PMP uses from your computer, because no matter what your computer is going to try to use it if it's there due to it thinking that the special codec is the best option. So basically you will just have to deal with uninstalling/reinstalling that program as needed unless (like me) you don't really need it anymore. [How to Solve the Problem] If you skipped all the above cool it's just storytime stuff anyways "tldr" basically if you're having this crash it's because of a program you may have installed on your computer. It is a program that installs a codec so these programs are usually Media Players you might have used to play obscure file types. Either way you can't find codecs (easily) by just searching for them so you are going to have to uninstall the entire program. Step by Step process: Pre-step 1: I recommend if you don't want to redownload the installer of your programs that you keep the install copy in case you need these programs again. OH AND FOREWARNING do not I repeat do not uninstall anything that says the maker was by Microsoft, your computer's company, etc. less you wish to have even more problems than you started with. 1. Find out what the program is This requires a bit of thinking if you're like me and install random programs for some odd reason. But you want to just open up Control Panel and go to Programs and Features then click Uninstall a Program. Based on your Control Panel view you might be able to just click uninstall a program. 2. Now you want to find anything that you installed that might have installed a custom codec (For me and most it's typically a Media Player) 3. Uninstall that program then test out the game to see if it corrected the issue. 4. Repeast steps 1-3 until issue is resolved. [Conclusion] Hey this worked for me hopefully it'll help out others as well. P.S.: To include pictures or not to include pictures that is the question. (video maybe? I can do either)
  3. OK Jan so I've solved the issue with Terajuma Island. So not sure If you want me to make a new thread in the Rejuvenation subforum to fully explain, but basically the problem with traveling to Terajuma Island and Kakori village is that if the player in question has installed any outside codec (media player) other than traditional or well known ones like Windows Media Player/Quicktime etc. Then is will cause the game to crash. So basically i needed to uninstall a media player I used a long time ago to play these obscure media files in order to continue playing the game. If need be I can be more descriptive for others.
  4. OMG Jan senpai noticed me! Anyways no I'm on Windows 7 currently though from some research I did on the subject matter of ActiveMovie Window it may be an old program/dll file that needs to be removed from my system 32 in order for me to continue. Still researching however, because this solution was for a program that was not RPG Maker soo might be a while before I come up with something (too much work irl taking up my time).
  5. Not sure if this has already been reported already, but there is a problem with walking into Karoki Village from Route 6 (I'm on Version 6.2) where there is no bug report the game literally just freezes on the black screen. Any suggestions? Edit: Also when trying to travel to Terajuma Island from the S.S. Oceana the game crashes after another tab labeled "ActiveMovie Window" pops up. I'm speculating that the game is trying to run an animation outside of the game itself and my computer is unable to run it. Is there anything specific I should go acquire? Edit2: Sorry so many edits anyways I've searched this thread some more and only one other person had this same issue though no solution. If I mind asking since the new version has there been anything added to the arrival sequence at Terajuma Island? That's the only thing I can think of or maybe is it because I completed all the help requests in my save file before updating to the new version and all the changes to Terajuma island are overloading while trying to load in. Maybe it's because the game has to clear the vine path while also adding it in as well as add in the "bridge" and removing the initial vileplume.
  6. So I've come across some bug that appears anytime I open the PC here's an image. If you need my save as well I can provide that too...http://imgur.com/TYxxHEQ Game.rxdata
