    Ya know what I think might be the real issue with the anime? It's not that Ash has his team reset from a bunch of badass veterans to a couple of candy ass newbs at the beginning of each series/ each new generation, it's not that Pikachu somehow goes from kicking ass to being just... weakened at the start of each new series somehow... No, I think the real issue isn't any of that, because to me there is one thing that should make that all... OK to occur actually, (Except maybe Pikac...

      Yeah, I do wish that when they went to Hoenn they focused more on May as the newbie with Ash being something of a mentor to her, they did it a little but not enough. Then maybe after Hoenn they'd get a new main character?

      Monotypes are lots of fun, I've found. They challenge you in unexpected ways but they're doable.

      Just beat him! I waited 'til he missed with focus blast so shifty could swagger him 3 times, then sent out roserade who used toxic when he got hurt in confusion.

    I give trying to come up a strategy for Noel.

      I find his wigglytuff is great for setting up attacks like swords dance or quiver dance on as it doesn't hit too hard though it's annoying. Fighting on a rainy day would also stop him using the field. Good luck!
