  1. Spoiler

This is part of a sidequest that will eventually give us a Magikarp, it ends (at least for now) with the robber going into the desert. Though I do agree that holding off on the carp for over 16 episode isn't fair at all.

In terms of the actual league, there was nobody publicly announced to be a backup leader since Adrienn followed through until the end. It is possible Ame had somebody who she was going to pick or use just in case it happened, but not likely. She just added that dialogue in to explain the plothole that ICSW brought up. I highly doubt we're ever going to really meet this person since again, it's not a real character...just a plot tool.

The only character who team wise uses Fairy types other than Adrienn would be Ame though she tends to like cute Pokemon so...that's mostly just a coincidence. Sadly there just really isn't that much for Fairies since even the Reborn storyline was being worked on before Fairy was a thing. Like even character wise I can't really name a fairy leader unless you want to say one of the cultists is secretly one since nobody really uses fairies on their teams. Sure they might have one, but...that's not enough to even be considered leader material. And PS Gardevoir was actually the Psychic Gym Leader in Season 1 who shared the spot with Radomus.

So it seems that Gardevoir was a serious leader in the online League. The entire premise of my theory was that because Gardevoir gained the fairy typing in Gen VI, which was something that happened after her time at the League, she could be a fairy trainer in-game (as opposed to being a psychic type trainer like in the League). But it seems that the reserve fairy leader was some guy that died during the PULSE attacks in Jasper. So yeah, he is definitely just a plot device and nothing else.

But still, considering we got to battle (or will eventually battle) every Leader from the online League there has to be a point in the game where we face off against Gardevoir. And I just can't figure out a situation where this would happen. So having her as the reserve fairy leader would help with that issue. But now I'm starting to think that maybe GG will be the one to give us the Mega Ring and teach us about Mega Evolution. That would make some sense and would give us an excuse to battle her.

Going back to Ana, she isnt't shown to have gothitelle anymore In orphanage event In E16, she probably Has diffrent ace nowe oryginalne use diffrent type

Ame did mention that she was considering making Nostra Anna's ace. So I'm guessing that this is the reason Gothitelle is gone.

  3. Before making my ranking I want to say that I love every single mainline Pokemon game. And while I do list some negative points and criticize some things it does not mean I don't love these games.

    1. Gen II - Still my favorite to this day, has the best dex imo and also the Kanto postgame is amazing.

    2. Gen VII - Has a good story and I liked how it shook up the formula with things like Alola Forms and Trials. But mostly I love all of the QoL changes such as streamlining the PC. The extra features are also a lot of fun. This gen has my favorite region, I really loved Alola.

    3. Gen I - Mostly Nostalgia, it was my first generation after all and I still have some very fond memories of it. Also has the second strongest dex imo.

    4. Gen V - I find this gen to be a tad overrated, especially the story. The story is ok at best, although I can see why people call it amazing because compared to the rest of the pokemon games (bar SuMo) the story truly is a masterpiece, but for a JRPG (or even when compared to fan games like Reborn) it isn't anything special. The dex is kind of a mixed bag, having both amazing designs and some very forgetful mons. Overall I do love this gen quite a lot, but I think it is pretty overrated. Still it has a lot of great points, like amazing post-game (BW2), a great region and some cool features.

    5. Gen III - I like the dex and the fact that it introduced two evil teams. Secret bases are also a lot of fun and I loved the Battle Frontier. This gen has by far the best post-game. Other than that the region itself is somewhat annoying due to the abundance of water routes.

    6. Gen VI - I love Mega Evolutions, the jump to 3d, hordes, the PSS and much more. However the story is bare bones compared to Gens V and VII, and also the region is pretty forgettable. Doesn't help that it essentially has next to zero post-game content.

    7. Gen IV - Quite honestly I don't remember much about this generation, which is why it is ranked lowest on my list. The dex is amazing, but it has way too many evolutions and pre-evos  (I'd rather have them spread across more generations). Although I do remember that the pokemon distribution in these games (Diamond and Pearl) was a mess and that some types (like Fire) had next to no pokemon available until post-game. I never played Platinum though, so this point might have been something they fixed.

    EDIT:

My rank consists of only the mainline games, since I don't really count the remakes. But if I were to include the remakes in the ranking it would be:

    Spoiler

    1. HGSS

    2. GSC

    3. SuMo

    4. FRLG

    5. RBY

    6. BW(2)

    7. RSE

    8. ORAS

    9. XY

    10. DPPt

  4. Your team is very solid, so much so that I suggest keeping the members as they are. Though I'd recommend changing their movesets and items a bit:

    • Give Escavalier either Drill Run or Knock Off. Also change its item to the bug or steel boosting item.
    • For the Swampert remove Surf and give it Rock Slide.
    • Calm Mind is much better on Gardy. You could instead try some coverage moves like Shadow Ball or Grass Knot. Also consider running Trick Room to help out Escavalier and Swampert.
    • Take out Light Screen and Discharge from Electivire. Give it the two remaining elemental punches (Fire Punch and Ice Punch). Change its item to Expert Belt.
    • Brick Break is useless on Hera. Give it something else like Bullet Seed, Shadow Claw, Aerial Ace or Dig (I think we have access to it by now). Change its item to Flame Orb to abuse Guts.

It was in E16 that Adrienn asked Ame why she didn't appoint a reserve and Ame explains it.

In addition to what's been said about Nostra and Anna's Gothitelle, she was also a Psychic leader in Reborn's online league.

EDIT: @Nagisa_Hideyoshi Lin is a Dragon type trainer; she was the season 1 Dragon leader (and season 1 champion) of Reborn's online league.

Hmmm I guess that shoots down the theory of Gardevoir being the reserve fairy leader. But who could possibly be this fairy leader? We will ever find out who this mysterious person is? Do you know more or less the point of the story when Ame explains this? I'd like to take a look at the dialogue and I don't really know how to mess with RPG Maker.

At this point it does seem this reserve leader is just a cop-out for the plot hole involving Adrienn. But there might be more than meets the eye to this story.

  6. Every single pokemon will be available in-game, this is something Ame has confirmed multiple times so UBs won't be any different. Considering the recency of Gen VII I don't think UBs will have any relevance to the main story but they will most likely get post-game events. That being said, if the Cosmog event doesn't involve Nebby getting into bags I will be very disappointed.

  7. So I've been recently doing a Ground type mono run and during my playthrough I came across a very interesting piece of dialogue coming from Radomus:

    Spoiler

    Radomus 1.png

I didn't remember seeing this dialogue before on my previous playthrough, so I searched on youtube to see if I could find it there. And it seems like this has been added in episode 16, which has some interesting implications. This dialogue is important because this is the first time there is any mention of a reserve Fairy Leader in the league. The question is who could this leader be? Ame has confirmed that as of episode 14 we have met all of the characters, so this mystery leader has to be someone we know.

I did some research on the online Reborn League, and Adrienn was the only fairy type leader in the history of the league. Not to mention that every other leader already seems to have a role in the game and the in-game league, whether it be being E4 (ex Heather, Laura), a gym leader (ex Shelly, Luna, Charlotte), a challenger (ex Cain, Fern, Victoria) or just not having any connections to the league (ex Arclight, Sigmund, Lin). All except for one that is.

Apparently Gossip Gardevoir was a leader in the online Reborn League, she even had her own trainer card. However, I'm still not sure if she was a serious Leader or a troll one (kind of like Sandy) since she listed Radomus as her ace in her trainer card. Another problem is that she was a Psychic Leader and not a Fairy one. That being said, in Gen VI Gardevoir gained an additional typing, and that typing was Fairy. So that could be used as a justification to make her into a Fairy type trainer in-game. Moreover, Gardevoir was quite aware about Adrienn being the fairy leader:

    Spoiler

    Radomus 2.png

She was aware of Adrienn without even meeting xem. The only reasonable explanation to that is that she is in fact the reserve Fairy Leader and because of that Ame explained Adrienn's situation to Gardevoir.

So, if Gardevoir is actually the reserve Fairy Leader there could be some interesting implications for the story, especially since this was (maybe) added in E16. I don't really know what could come out from this (if anything). But it is an interesting discussion if anything. Though it could also just be a cop-out from the whole Adrienn being gone for 10+ years plot hole and I'm just reading too much into things.

So, TL;DR There's a reserve fairy leader, and that might be Gossip Gardevoir.

The gemtones being the king? They are merely a means to an end. The king is the most important thing and it's loss is directly a catastrophe.

For Radomus grabbing the uniform from a grunt then why didn't he say so instead of that cryptic? Maybe he likes to be cryptic but still. On top of that Ell, seems to have quite a grudge, so I doubt Radomus is that passive after all, if he only fights back before being provoked then how did they cross each other?

Losing the gemstones most certainly will lead to a catastrophe. But I guess the king could instead be the 'Meteor'.

Radomus is a cryptic person, that is just who he is. The whole Citae D'Arc story bit is more than enough proof of that. Why didn't he say anything about Gardevoir being able to teleport? Why didn't he say anything about El's ditto? Why didn't he tell us what he would do with the pendant? That is just who he is, he doesn't like giving out information or maybe he is just testing the MC. As of now he is just a very cryptic person. El has grudges with quite a lot of people, just because he holds one with Radomus doesn't mean he isn't passive. If anything El is a very aggressive person that does whatever it takes to get what he wants. Radomus seems to be a very careful person, always assessing the situation before making his move, which is why I described him as passive since he is more of a observant type that doesn't do things without good reason.

They probably crossed each other before most likely because of Luna, since when Bennett says she is in the Vanhannen Castle El replies with a "Of course". And I really don't see how Radomus could be part of Meteor and El (a very loyal follower of Team Meteor) have a huge grudge against him.

It's been confirmed that E19 will have the last gym (so one gym) as well as the E4 and postgame. So it's either E17 or E18 that'll be the two gym episode. (my guess is E17 with the two leaders being Titania and Amaria)

Hmm if true then I'd say E18, since 17 has a lot of mapping with the desert and stuff. Though I could see Amy's gym being right after Tania.

  10. My predictions:

    Spoiler
    • We will fight Titania in her gym in the Scrapyard. She will be the only gym battle next episode.
    • We will run into El and the newly reformed Bennett in the Mirage Tower.
    • There will be a fight with either El or Bennett, my bet is with the former (or maybe a double battle with both).
    • In the mirage tower we will finally get the Mega Ring/Bracelet/Amulet/Brooch/weird accessory.
    • After we beat the episode we will meet up with the Twins and Anna will show us a way to get into Labradorra.
    • Labradorra will be in ep 18 along with Saphira's gym (teased in ep 17).

    For post episode 17:

    • Episode 18 will be Labradorra, we will fight PULSE Mr Mime and Clawitzer. We will rescue Aya from Meteor and the episode will end with a gym battle against Saphira.
    • Episode 19 will be Agate and will have two gyms, the first one will be Hardy's followed by the last leader Amaria.
    • Terra will return and we will learn more about her connections with Arceus.
    • Either one of the other Circus leaders is working with Team Meteor (my guess is Ciel), or the Ringmaster is a Meteor Admin. We will find the signal that is putting everyone to sleep at Agate in the Suspicious Looking House over the Circus.
    • In Agate we will reunite with Evelyn and Lumina, now separate from Zero. They will both join the alliance against Team Meteor.
    • Taka will eventually rebel against his father, and will leave Team Meteor.
    • We will learn about Shade's true form.
    • We will find out Radomus' true intentions and his connection to the Amethyst Pendant and Anna.
    • At some point Nostra will awaken as a Jirachi.
    • Fern will die a slow and painful death.
    • We will find out the truth behind Lin and the video shown in Shade's gym.

  11. 46 minutes ago, FairFamily said:

Ame also has fourth wall powers, and Terra's story seems intertwined with Lin's rather then Radomus.

About Radomus the chessmaster. Chess is in essence a very cold game, only slaying the king counts. The fact that he applies it to his real life problems is scary. I can get the cheeky comments and metafors but making the personal comment "I'm playing black this time" when gardevoir is captured does lead me to believe he actually does think in it. Remember everything but the king is disposable. Also by allowing the El to be this close, strongly suggests that Luna is not the king because if Luna was king then he would have placed himself in check or in layman terms, the risk is too great. Gardevoir is also most likely not king as well based on a interview. So what is his 'king'? Himself, doubtly. It might either be his dead wife/soulmate or a greater cause. The dead wife might explain his ties to team meteor: new world, revive wife, you know the drill. The question is then what event made him a turncoat?

I'm guessing that the 'king' would be the four gemstones considering their extreme importance to the story and the fact that they can open the doors to the 'Meteor'. Him having Team Meteor's uniform doesn't mean he was ever a part of it, he could have grabbed it from a grunt or something. I doubt that he would be part of Meteor, why would he directly confront El if he was indeed part of the team. He seems to be more of a neutral party, that only fights back when provoked.

Okay let me break down what the prophecy means:

      Reveal hidden contents

The first thing that is very important is that the player does no exist. That means something entirely different than being dead and in other words erased from history. My theory on this is that either the player chose not to come to Reborn or died at the train station. Both of these scenarios would delete the person the player is now making them someone else entirely. For that to happen, a new world would have to be created and certain actors would have to play their part in letting the player destroy or change the world for the better (Fairy Fencer F did something like this plot wise). How isn't important, but that it does happen is the key. A world that we don't exist comes into play aka a new world.

Now if we stick with the train station theory, that spirals into a whole new set of ideas that would happen. We didn't push Fern into going after the Gym Badges to show us up (aka he was always inferior in the old world) as we saw his personality grow worse and worse as time went on. He'd be the one to take the player's role as it was the player who took the role from him in the first place. The next person is Cal and from what it reads, it seems like either he or titania die, but it is not clear which. Could even be blake or someone entirely different could die. That's not super important. Titania is Shining Armor though.

The character I can't talk about is the red and black suit at least until the super spoilers. Now for Beaded Hope falling apart. That's more or less saying Fern and his group are crushed and defeated unless someone outside of the group interferes. Not much can be said about that or what it even means. The final part means that Anna's Jirachi Doll (which is probably Jirachi) grants her wish and undoes team Meteor's plans for a new world. That much is a given.

Now for what I consider super spoilers:

I don't think these events will unfold in Episode 17 as all 4 keystones are needed. It'd take at least a full episode to not only get the first one and the second, but gather them into the proper location aka Cit-de-astrae. It is possible to unfold next episode, but not likely as that'd be a lot to explore and quite a lot of mapping and eventing. I'm more interested in the consequences of this new future as all I can assume it is what Pulse Arceus creates.

      Reveal hidden contents

The black and red suited woman is not someone easy to guess. I'm going to assume it is Eve since the sprites and pics of what she looks like could match that, but Zero wears a black and red suit, however is male. Charlotte is possible, but it clearly says woman so not likely. Eve really is the only candidate due to being the only quiet character who keeps mostly to herself compared to Zero and Lumi. We don't exactly know what happened to her so assuming she's even dead in this world is a big mistake. All we know is what fused the trio has been destroyed. That point brings me up to my more important one:

The suited girl. This is not the same character as the suited woman due to a slight word difference. This one is Lin but possibly a past version of herself or maybe she actually is a girl and the woman we see is just a facade. We know it's not human due to shade's foreshadowing showcasing lin disassembling cluing us in that she's some type of machine. This leaves an even bigger issue with the champion. If Lin disappears, it's possible that someone else is taking the champion spot. We have a total of 5 elite four members so one could easily take that spot (or even Fern for the matter). Everything reverts back to normal after this future unfolds to what it wouldn't been which is the bigger mystery. The outcome which even I cannot predict.

Okay, so your post reminded me of a certain thing Ame did here on the forums a while ago. And after a lot of digging to try to find this suited lady. I must say I am at a complete loss, though I might as well share my findings. Warning the stuff in the spoiler tag contains massive spoilers for story post episode 16:

    Spoiler

So I finally found the Daganronpa Reborn thread where Ame posted the sprites for Eve, Lumi and kid Lin. And unfortunately none of them seem to match the description of the suited lady. I brought the Eve's sprite as an example:

    reborn eve1.png                 reborn 2 eve.png

It is clear to see that she isn't wearing a suit and that her clothes aren't black and red. Although that being said Ame did use the word "taciturn" to describe Eve in the Dagan Reborn thing. However, I did find a character that matches the description perfectly:

    reborn 1.png             reborn 2.png

The only problem is that this character is a man and not a woman. Ame never revealed the identity of this suited man, but I'm pretty sure he is meant to be Shade.

So after all of this research none of the characters seem to match the description of this mystery woman. This made me think of three alternate theories regarding her:

    1) The woman is either Eve or Lumi, their designs have changed since the Dagan Reborn thing. When Anna makes her wish to restart the loop, Eve (or Lumi) disappears because she is going back to the entity ZEL. I don't think this one is likely because it means that in all of the other loops ZEL never existed (because if Eve/Lumi is one of the heroes ZEL can't possibly exist), and that this is the first loop with them. What would be the purpose of Anna wishing for ZEL, and what would be the link to the MC? I just don't see it.

    2) The woman is Shade, somewhere along development Ame changed human Shade's sex from male to female. When Anna made her wish, the woman Shade used to be disappears and the entity 'Shade' is born, this new entity is responsible for bringing the MC to Reborn city. I think this one has a chance of being real, since Shade matches the "black and red suit" description perfectly and she(?) seems to have mysterious connections to the story that have yet to be fully uncovered (especially the deaths). Not to mention that Shade does match the description of "taciturn", since she barely ever talks and mostly keeps to herself.

    3) The suited lady is Charlotte, since she wears black and red clothes. I'm not sure what role Anna's wish would have here though and why after the wish Charlotte would disappear.

Like I said, I'm drawing a blank on this theory. My only idea is that since the Dagan Reborn thing Ame changed a few of the designs of the characters.

  13. My suggestion: Drop the nuzlocke and keep it as a mono grass run. It is literally impossible to do a Nuzlocke in Pokemon Reborn, since there are portions of the story that requires you to lose battles. Even a normal mono run is very hard, but a nuzlocke (especially a mono nuzlocke) is impossible. Trust me on this.

Anyway, I enjoyed the video quite a lot. Keep up the great work! Just as I said, consider dropping the nuzlocke part since it would be pretty sad to see your run ending early.

  14. 25 minutes ago, Amine elhedhili said:

Okay :) i'll create a post in the ''On the Hunt'' thread, thanks for telling me

You can find Solarbeam in the secret room in Beryl Library. You need to interact with the colored books in a certain order. You can find this order in a locked room in the Sanctum, the room where you found the 'dark material' (it is in the order the colored statues are in).

    2 hours ago, kinnydiaper64 said:

    Hmm thanks for the info

    Now what tyoe to choose

I am currently doing my first mono run, for the ground type, and I have to say it has been a blast. Although not as challenging as I initially thought, it is still much harder than a normal run (especially Fern's god forsaken Ludicolo, I'm glad he got rid of that disgusting thing). And I have been falling in love with pokemon I haven't ever used before like Krookodile.

If you want to do a mono run, try going with a type that you don't normally like that much. I first planned on using my favorite type, Water, but then I gave up on that idea since I thought it would be too easy. And I have to say that I am glad I did it, it made me appreciate pokemon I would have never used normally. The run becomes much more interesting when you are forced to use pokemon you normally would avoid in vanilla runs. So I definitely recommend going for the types with less pokemons or with pokemon you usually avoid.

  16. So I remember some speculation that was made in another thread about this prophecy, I'll put it under spoilers:

    Spoiler

Basically, the prophecy is describing a time loop where the heroes (Fern, Arclight, Cal, Anna, Suited Woman) fail to defeat Team Meteor, and so Anna makes a wish and Nostra resets the timeline to the start of the loop. This has been going on for an unknown amount of loops. However, the last wish instead replaced the suited woman's existence with the existence of the MC (maybe Anna wished for a hero who could defeat Team Meteor). In that sense the woman can be considered the alternate world equivalent of the MC (thus why she is described as 'taciturn'). And this may be the loop where the heroes finally manage to defeat Meteor and save Reborn City.

Another point is that Lin somehow managed to continue aging throughout the time loops, which explains how she became an adult whereas she is supposed to be younger than Anna. A few of the characters seem to have some knowledge about previous loops, such as the NPC that says something about a déjà-vu and Laura who remembered that Lin used to destroy her stuff in the orphanage (even though in the current loop Lin is already an adult).

but the Luna one is news to me. So I'm guessing she was the only one involved in a custody dispute and that the other leaders were just the vessels for that element of the story?

I heard that the only reason IRL El joined the league was so that he could get in contact with Luna and that she was running away from him. And supposedly IRL Serra and Radomus were in fact fighting for her guardianship. If true, than the whole situation is frightening to say the least. The League had some very interesting people in it, it's hard to even believe half of these stories, but they are in fact real.

    EDIT:

Also @WujiKyurem since you were there for the first season of the Reborn League. Is it true that Gossip Gardevoir was the psychic type leader for some time in the Reborn League? She used to show up in the leader lineup page for season 1 (before the page was taken down) and her ace was said to be... Radomus. It's kind of weird and I'm curious about it.

I am aware of Reborn's origins in the online league. It's just that much of what happens in Reborn is put in a more dramatic and dark-ish light, but as of lately the game seems to have taken a much darker turn than average. Both the deaths of Corey and Kiki are somewhat parallel to what happened to them in real life, but several minor characters have been killed on-screen, the reason for Amaria's amnesia is a lot darker, and even characters who are still alive IRL have been killed off in-game. In short, the game seems to have taken a hint of Cerberus Syndrome lately.

    Spoiler

IIRC the only person that is still alive that has been killed in the game is Ame. The characters from Team Meteor and other minor characters aren't based off of anyone IRL so they don't count. Although I agree that the game takes a much darker tone than the things it was inspired by. This is something that I hope Ame does in the future, because as of now only the leaders that died IRL have died in the game (Corey and Kiki are the only ones).

Spoilers for both Reborn and Rejuvenation here but, eh, I doubt it. The thing is, Ame and Jan are two completely different writers. Jan doesn't really like killing his characters off and so he often employs means to bring back characters that seemed to be dead and whatnot. Ame is a lot more cold about characters deaths and whatnot and doesn't take killing off character for real too lightly. The only time that Ame didn't decide to outright kill a character was during Amaria's failed attempt at suicide, and that's because she's was the only Water-type leader in Reborn's history. Jan on the other hand is very hesitant to kill his characters and so far we've only seen the deaths of very minor characters here and there.

    Spoiler

The only reason that Amaria survived the fall was because that event was based on something that happened in real life. IRL Amaria actually lost her memories from a car accident. The same is true for both Corey and Kiki, they both died IRL, Corey killed himself and Kiki died from her disease. Of course in-game some of these events are exaggerated or changed to match the story more, but in essence they are still there.

You might not know this but Reborn is based on an online league of the same name that was run on Pokemon Showdown. This league had leaders that were real people and a lot of the events in the Reborn game are based off of their lives. A few that I know of are the legal disputes between El, Radomus and Serra to see who would become Luna's guardian, Sigmund might have used ECT on some of his patients, Cain had a big fight with his mother after she saw him kissing a guy, and of course the events I described in the paragraph above.
