  1. So, do the unfortunate fact that my computer broke and I had to get a new one, I was forced to start anew on Pokemon Reborn. I know that Pokemon with hidden abilities on Reborn can be commonly found in the wild, but can the starters be picked up with their hidden abilities as well? And If so, then what's the chance I'll get one? Cuz I'm thinking that if I can, then it might be worth it to try to get a Torchic with Speed Boost.
  2. Well, yes. But again, the starter you choose can help, but I like I said, I feel everyone is inclined to choose their favorite starter as opposed to going for the one that the community suggests as the best choice for the game. There are plenty of ways for you to go throughout the game and do good without having to rely on a community chosen starter Pokemon. The ones provided along the way can be just as useful if you know how and when to use them.
  3. I'm actually referring to the original Ruby and Sapphire versions. Though, I did like what they did with the remakes. Despite the massive defense that Torterra has among the starter Pokemon, I really don't want to rob the players of their opportunity to use their favorite starter Pokemon.
  4. Good advice, but I've never had a problem with crashing. Besides, I'm pretty sure most people who play Pokemon and are serious about it have a habit of saving all the time anyway, especially so before something big. I've only met but one person who plays Pokemon who doesn't have that habit, and it's mainly because they have disabilities that make it hard for them to get in that train of mind to save all the time like that.
  5. Any more suggestions and I'm gonna need to change the title from 5 tips to 10 xD
  6. The tips have been slightly edited with information provided during the chat as well some other small tid-bits the veterans thought were necessary. I can only hope this thread bring aid to many future players of Pokemon Reborn.
  7. I'd love to do more in the future, but those veterans are making me a little wary now ;-; Next time I'll look into what I say a little more before I put it out. Though, regardless of what they said, I feel the thread will still be a great help to many future players.
  8. Well, even if it was then thanks anyway. You're a good guy to have around ^^ and thanks for the support on my beginners tips thread. Though, according to what these late night long time veterans are saying about my tips they aren't all that good because "It didn't use to be like that", oh well, I tried xD Still though, thanks.
  9. Well, I was unaware of both of these. Though, that does save time and pokeballs searching for Pokemon that have hidden abilities. Thank you, the advice of a true veteran is always appreciated. And, although I felt like I completely forgot something too while I was doing that, I don't think that was it, but it is good advice regardless. This post was made to help aid anyone, especially new players, and although you shot down some of my tips, you did offer some others that can help anyone who needs it, so thank you. Yeah, but it also says, "You'll often find that the event Pokemon is just the Pokemon you need to beat that specific gym". Again, I said often. It doesn't say grab it until the very end of that point. Yes, it's true not all will be useful at that point and time, but that's not to say they can't be useful later on. Thanks for your input, but I know what I typed.
  10. Well, I'm unsure where to get it from as well.
  11. Yes, but the ability capsules aren't easy to obtain and the ability they give you is random, and being most Pokemon who have a hidden ability have two normal abilities, you could end up getting the second normal ability over the hidden one. And you are right, not all are useful, but I also never said they were ALL useful, I just said that often times the Pokemon you need is an event one. Often does not mean always It's true, you can read about them in the Beryl ward library, but not many people have the memory to read them all there and remember it through the rest of the game. Since most people don't have that memory, and most people don't wanna or have the time to run back there every time they encounter a new field zone, it'd be faster and easier to just have the guide pulled up off the website.
  12. Yes, are the flags not gone on the community release?
  13. lol, your tips sound more like Nuzlocke tips
  14. http://www.pokemonreborn.com/game/ Mirror 2 Why, was I wrong to do that?
  15. Okay, well, my tips guide did not take that into effect, so there is no Mono-type run tips.
  16. Um, I'm not sure, but don't show up. Only in the towns does it work where previously it was everywhere.
  17. Changing Pokemon in battle is a good method yes, especially so if you are nuzlocking, but it can get monotonous and sometimes you forget. There's also that chance that the opponent knows the dreaded and highly annoying move pursuit which they always just happen to use when you are switching out (I swear it's programmed to automatically switch to that by default if you switch) or have Arena Trap or Shadow Tag. Flush Training removes all those mistakes and problems by just not even considering them. Also, I have no idea what a "Mono-type Run" is. Well, this guide was mainly made for beginners, and there may be some of them that they may not need. These are more suggestions to help than they are the 5 commandments of Pokemon Reborn. But, please keep this guide in mind, because these tips can be helpful to even veterans of Pokemon Reborn.
  18. I aplogize, but I have been unable to run into any of those, and the first six are starters, and I much prefer my Feraligatr. Also, the Pansear can only be caught under a bridge in the Opal ward while it is raining, and my game rarely rains and when it does the Pansear is not there. Though, it would be much appreciated if I could be directed to the locations of the Numel and Ponyta. I do apologize for forgetting the Pansear though.
  19. What would be cool is if instead of all shinies being switched to the alternate shinies that there are actually 2 (three would be cooler) shiny pallets for each pokemon, that way if one wanted to, they could go search for the all the colours of a pokemon, or even earch until they find the colour pallet they want for that specific pokemon.
  20. The major problem there is the keywords "damages non fire types". That's not something I want. My choice team normally has no fire types, and being that the only two obtainable fire types to that point in the game are Growlithe and Litleo, it doesn't help either.
  21. So, after such a grand start with my amazing tips for the trainers of reborn, I feel like I'm inclined to a formal complaint. Nothing big, it's just that I noticed that with the new update they removed the location flags from the top left-hand corner of the screen that pops up every time you enter a new floor/room/location. I don't know about everyone else, but I like knowing where I am when I go somewhere new. This wasn't in the update list as something changed though, so it might just be a bug with the update, and if so, I'd like it fixed in the next one please, cuz again, I like knowing where I am.
  22. I have actually been stuck on Bugsy's younger sister Shelly for quite sometime. I found that Growlithe is a big help against her bug pkemon, but I've been using Litleo instead cuz as first stage it has higher stats then Growlithe, though if I find a Fire stone, then I'll use it cuz Arcanine's stats are much greater than Pyroar's. And it's not that I'm not following my own advice as much as her pokemon are much faster than mine, so I've been Flush Training in the crystal caverns under the staircase so my Trubbish, Chingling (I know, bad type matchup, but it knows Charge Beam, which is the strongest electric move I got and effective since more than half of her bug types are part flying), and my Noibat aren't puny. Though, now that I think of it, I should train my Mareep, it can learn much stronger electric moves than Charge Beam.
  23. Trubbish is good, if you give him poison gas, poison spikes, or toxic, Acid Spray, and his hidden ability is anything except sticky hold, though preferably aftermath, then he'll destroy your opponents. Kricketune is the champ in reborn though, if you keep him as your strongest and make sure he learns Fury Cutter, then you should be able to 0HKO most pokemon a gym leader uses as long as the Fury Cutter has been used in succession three times in a row.
  24. This is a good method, but and my Flush Method is similar except that in the flush method you'll get too a point where your Pokemon will be too fast to be taken out by the wilds. At that point you can just head back to the Pokemon Center and heal your fainteds then repeat the process again. I'm glad that my thread has already started to impact new players to the game. This was my main intention as many of my friends that I have introduced this game to quit before beating the first gym because it was too hard and I didn't want any more future players doing that.
