  1. Ahh, welcome back! Well I'm almost certain someone else could easily help you out with anything you need here, I'm more than happy to lend my services as both a good listener and a friendly face, haha. I hope your time here is as pleasant as mine is!

  2. I haven't been here for very long, but I'm still happy to hear things like this! It's beautiful whenever someone overcomes the struggles in life and can be better for it. To have garnered such a level of inspiration from Reborn is astounding. The best part about all of this is that you've still got a lot of life left to live, and things are already looking up!

  3. Ahh, fantastic! I'll definitely have to look into that, especially considering how much depth the 2nd story had that I may have missed, haha. As for a Western, think of it less as a "world" and more as a "way of life". Basically, you can capture the feel of a Western in any format, but I can understand if the feel of one isn't something your a fan of.

I hope to see what you create in the future!

  4. Pokémon Trainer Hilbert- Hilbert here looks EXACTLY like I did when I was a teenager (except I have grey/blue eyes, haha) and is still my favorite main character sprite. Pokémon Black and White is also about the conflict between truth and ideals and since I also happened to own the copy where I was on the side of ideals, it continued to resonate with me.

(Male) Backpacker- I'd be hard pressed to count the total number of times I've walked and walked... And walked, haha. The callous on my feet and the wear on my shoes isn't just for show! I've made it a habit to walk to almost everywhere I go, especially now that I've been paying for gas, haha! If my parents told me they couldn't drive me somewhere or wouldn't, I'd just put on my shoes and go. Hell, I even plan to have a walking tour of every state in America once I'm done in the service, however silly of a goal that is, haha.

Janitor- I have a thing about "honest work for honest pay" in life. I also like to be someone who helps out without being seen, kind of like a man behind the scenes type of thing. That, and I hope to be as free-spirited and jolly as the sprite looks when I reach his age, haha!

Rich Boy- Well, I can't say that my family has ever looked wealthy from an outside view, but I can assure you that we are. My father and step mother in particular are quite financially well off but only spend whenever it's truly necessary. This meant that when they did spend, it was always big. Thus, me and my siblings lived life in moderate luxury. Personally, I prefer simple living, even if it means staying on the Ramen diet, haha. Still, I can't deny this part of me that was relatively pampered.

(Male) Skier- Winter is my favorite time of the year! The chilly air with the snow and ice all around always gives me this sense of clarity and reflection. The cold only serves as a reminder that I'm alive and everything feels more brisk and refreshing when it's done in another cold, winter night. I've done a bit of skiing too, and that sense of refreshing briskness is even more apparent at a fast pace! And that mountain air... Ahhh... Haha.

  5. That was certainly a way to introduce yourselves, haha!

Welcome to Reborn! I can't imagine I'd be as much help as the mods or the other staff, but I'm always here as a good listener, and a friendly face, haha.

  6. Now that was a good read. Both of those short stories were great, in their own unique ways too. The first one showed a level of jadedness that struck a little close to home, though I've never experienced a level of betrayal in my life quite like that, haha! The second, while I don't actually recognize the source material, was very well done, and managed to convey the action taking place fluidly and concisely. I do love a good action scene, but many authors go a bit crazy with the length and detail, haha.

I don't want to over step my bounds here, but I've come up with a few "writing exercises" to help you expand your style (Assuming that this was an attempt to not only share your writing ability, but also a way to improve upon it):

1.) Attempt to thoroughly describe the area in which the story is taking place with enough detail to make one think they are actually there. (I.E. What about the coffee shop stands out? How do the people in the coffee shop spend their time? How busy is the coffee shop? Etc.)

2.) Explore a personality for the protagonist that's normally outside of your comfort zone. (I.E. For me, I have a hard time having characters do things that I may know/think are bad ideas or think in ways that I can't normally understand, haha)

In all honesty, thank you for doing something like this! I'm happy to enjoy what's the equivalent of free short stories that are entertaining and have personality to them. I'm very grateful to have had a chance to enjoy these stories, and the other that may come. Haha, sorry for getting so sappy, but it's just something I tend to do if I really feel strongly about something.

  7. God, I hope not, haha! I already caved with this playthrough on the Garchomp now that the heated arena stops my ice shards cold in their tracks. I suppose I could've spent time training up something with will-o-wisp, but I figured I'd just lose to Solaris for the sake of a good climactic event, haha! As for the Elite 4 using mega's, that'd be a nice surprise to amp up the difficulty and give out some more unique strategies to the final bosses.

  8. Wow, That's probably the nicest and most genuine thing anyone has ever said to me on a forum site. I'm thankful for the support your giving me and my teammates, even if they can't here it, haha. I was considering teaching High School as a Sociology/Psychology Teacher (Most likely majoring in English or History). I've still been study the field of Sociology, even if an arbitrary money dump (College) won't accept the fruits of my labor, haha! As for Switzerland, I'll definitely have to go if it's anywhere like the German Alps. Man, that was the most serene I've ever felt... Though I'll definitely put Switzerland as a place to go to up there with Australia (My Grandfather and Father who served have never been there, so my Grandpa made me promise him I'd go there.). Hopefully after this 5 month time, I'll have been a cool guy to be around; it's the least I could do, haha. In all honesty, I'm filled with joy to hear such praise for me, even if some of my self-sufficiency is taken by my family and close friends to be foolishness and worse utter madness, haha!

All in all, I'm happy to be accepted by you, and I'm sure I'll enjoy my time here with such a wonderful community!

  9. Ahh, thanks Nickcrash! I personally have a hard time deciding between Bebop and Brotherhood for my all-time favorite! I've also seen some... Anime that didn't particularly stimulate my palette because my friend is into it and forced me to watch... ( Gundam period (Though I did like 00 and Build Fighters), Sekirei, Higurashi, Dragonauts, and the list goes on... Haha.)

I hope I didn't offend anyone with my dislike for those Anime, but I'm honestly not much of an anime guy to begin with, haha!

  10. Hello there Mr. Elliot! I'm just a newcomer here, so I'm sure everyone you previously knew would be a much better help to you than I, but I'm still willing to offer my services as a friendly face and a good listener. I'm sorry to hear about those despairing events that have befallen you, but I can assure you that your bonds between your friends and your family and your time still on this earth will cure any ailment. Though I'd hate for that to sound presumptuous of me... In which case I deeply apologize, haha.

Either way, I hope that your time here will be quite pleasant!

  11. Ahh, Hello Ringabel! I'm sure most everyone else that'll reply to this would be more helpful than me, but I'm sure being a returner means you already know that, haha. I'd be glad to offer my services as a friendly face and a good listener, whenever you feel one is necessary for you. Just remember, no matter where you tread, the internet is not for the faint of heart.

  12. Haha, thanks Maelstrom! I've watched a some anime (FMA: Brotherhood, Cowboy Bebop, and Code Geass are the only ones worth mentioning...) and I've read plenty of books (Though only a few of them I'd actually consider "fun" to read, haha) so I'd have some good, if not brief, input on that stuff. I sincerely hope my service in the Navy will be satisfying, if not enjoyable.

Also, that video was wonderful! I've always loved this kind of stuff.

  13. Well hello Tito! It's a pleasure to meet you. As Saber basically covered, there are plenty of people to talk to when it comes to what this site has to offer, so there's always a helping hand to be lent to who ever needs one. As it stands, I can't guarantee I can help you out like they can, but I can say that I'm at least a friendly face and a good listener, haha.

  14. Ah, welcome Butter! I'm happy to see another Youtuber for Reborn since it could use the publicity for being such a great game. Note that I'm not actually a Youtuber myself, but I tend to spend way more time than what's considered healthy there, haha. Anyways, I'm not sure if I can be as much help as the other staff, but I'm capable of being a friendly face and an overall great listener.

Oh, and as a side note: Trubbish/Garbodor actually carried me for awhile all things considered thanks to the black sludge they carry and acid spray. (Of course, that was when stat changing moves affected the stats twice in a row for no particular reason but hey, he'll still be a good poison for those looking for poison, haha)

  15. Hey there! It's good to see another friendly face around here, haha.

I'm not sure how much I can help with things like Hukuna, Hilda, Sheep, Vinny, or Faust, but I'd like to think I'm a generally down-to-earth and friendly person. So just know that you'll always find a friendly face in me, haha!
