Welcome to the forums as far as tips for Shade go there are some fun dark types available before his gym, namely Murkrow and Zoura. There's also Pancham a fighting type that can have the ability Scrappy cuz who doesn't want to punch a ghost?

What he said. And I'd recommend Porygon first. As much as I love Dusknoir I don't think your team really needs another tank and Porygon brings a lot of power.

I got Charzard X, Houndoom, Mawile, Lucario and Audino. All based purely on design cuz I have no experience with any of them. But I mean come on just look at those pokemon, there awesome then there's Audino

I've done fighting and dark duo (my favorite and original run) and fire and psychic duo which is also pretty good. I wouldn't say they were more challenging but I had fun.

I feel you on that. Welcome~ If not for my girlfriend telling me it's okay to like pokemon I probably wouldn't be here either. Reborn is the only pokemon game I can wear on my sleeve so to speak. By your Interest I see you like drawing and writing, so feel free to the the Creative Writing department as well and the Radio Tower (what art's doing on the radio I may never know.) There's also Reborn Radio, which Yash would usually mention, where music is played (ir)regularly. Anyway enjoy yourself. Edit: Actually, I see you've found the CW so never mind~

In Reborn Pangoro and Drapion are tied. In all the official pokemon games I've ever played pretty much any Dragon type (I've never played a pokemon game with faries) In showdown Suicune, Milotic, does Trevenant count?
