  1. Let me get some sentiments straight. While it may be difficult for me to be more down to earth, I can be just as headstrong without the pretty facade. Yes, I was ambitious and I had goals and eventually as the influence that I - not just the facade, but I - had in the community grew, I did want to be important. In my immediate sphere of influence my headstrong tendencies would be attributed to me just as you seem to attribute them to Hilda, Kio. At the same time, I don't feel it's my place to be headstrong and ambitious at this point in time. This is an appropriate time to pick up the bricks, lay down my own pride, and try to fix the wrongs I've committed. I will defend myself only in the event that falsehoods are being spread about me because this time - I want to do this right. I'll do it with grace, and with understanding - and maybe someday I can afford to be a little bit more headstrong again - and apply your critique to it so that it doesn't come off as abrasive. However, Hilda's leadership style and my own are not different, save for the obvious growing out of childish pursuits and improving on temperament. As for my personality hurting you previously. That's a separate issue I cannot but hope to make amends for - and I can understand if you want to write off my personality as Hilda's personality because I'm not as apparently prideful as Hilda was. This is a situation where being prideful would look incredibly stupid, callous, and would not come off as truly apologetic. In other words, I have a mess to clean up and that's why you don't see my need to be important. Before I can even dream about being important or hold a feeling that I am in a place where I can make a goal to strive toward it, I have to be accepted. What this experience has done however, is remind me that my first goal when coming here wasn't to be important. It was to help other people and be used as a resource and not someone who held dominion over others. Sure, I'd say that I want to be important, and I'd question most of you intensively on the subject. It doesn't have to be a global decree of importance, but there is a degree or instance that you want to be taken seriously. In almost every case. I'm sorry that I let that show in all of the times we've conversed with each other - but I'm not going to just say that was an act. You're catching me in a time of humility - where importance is hardly something I'm worried about. --- Tomas Several of these people actually conversed with me outside of the forums - which, I know you don't have me added on skype or join the Reborn showdown too often to my knowledge - so I understand the lack of understanding on your end - ...the people that were most seriously betrayed staged conversations with me in real time. The people that I've hurt the most actually shared moments of comradeship. With the most important people, it wasn't discussions you carried on - on your own time. I'm not going to hold anyone else accountable - my focus here is set myself before the firing squad and lay it all out there on my end. I don't have any comments about people believing me. I care about that only because I was the one that put up the facade. Was I irresponsible? Absolutely. And then some. Afraid. Weak-willed. etc. You could probably substitute a lot of derogatory adjectives, curses, what have you there. Long story short, I've talked to people much more in-depth than it may seem. That's why this matters. I don't particularly want to concern myself with how careless others were or were not when conversing with me because I have to look in the mirror. --- Mael I can divulge into that. I was at home, and I was embroiled in a family argument. About what, I don't really remember, but it left me in a poor mood, and that's when I decided I wanted to join the site. There's not a whole lot to go on there. There wasn't any motive to exploit anyone. There was just a scrambled mind trying to put themselves into a community without paying any attention, using any common sense, or most importantly, telling the truth. I lied - and then I wore that lie like a badge instead of realizing leaving it on was a bad idea. By then, I let that lie become a facade of myself. I used that facade multiple times without ever flipping the switch, and for that I won't personally forgive myself for a very long time. Yes, it was only a facade - but that doesn't make my sins any less so. I can tell you that I wanted nothing to come of it, and that I felt trapped and in a losing battle between feeling safe and using better judgement. I can say that I didn't want to take this any further than that. It's not up to me to make you believe, it's up to me to tell the truth. The believe onus is on you all.
  2. The girl in question is indeed a colleague of mine. I've already given up too much about her without her permission to want to disclose her name. But I will have many the opportunity to, in person, apologize and make that situation right - even if nothing happened to her, and as far as I know, she's either a stoic or she has yet to have been affected by my poor decisions. as for WHY - I simply truly didn't put much thought into it at all. I figured I would lurk and not ascend any ladder of rapport whatsoever. And I was wrong. Dead wrong. It's a random website on the internet. Surely these people won't impact my life in such a profound way as what would actually happen. Right? Wrong. What I ended up doing, without knowing what I was doing, was dig myself into a sticky situation and not make enough of an effort to get out of it on my own. The horrible explanation I can give, is that I didn't expect it to even matter what gender I was at the time.
  3. The sentiment seems to be that this issue is indeed separate from my ability to do my job here. If that ability is compromised, and it very well might be, action will be taken accordingly, be it a resignation or intervention.
  4. Debating my position with this community would be pointless as I'm sure very near none of you would believe me - but I earned this position by wanting to help other people. That hasn't changed despite my face. There's no personal gain from being an auth that is worth hurting others this much. Those that choose to stick with me will know that I wasn't pulling off some grand acting job - but again, if one detail is false, what's the say everything isn't. Right? I understand - but I will defend my intent even if I'm the only one doing so.
  5. Firstly, and this for those that for whatever reason choose to believe me - I don't want to be called brave. I didn't post this up for some free upvotes and everyone to think "Gosh, he's so human, it's beautiful." - NO. NO. NO. Secondly, that's how trust works. You build and build and build and build and then you do something incredibly catastrophic and you have to start all over again. Those of you that are apprehensive, or hated me from the beginning or what have you, you're absolutely right to put me under the magnifying glass. Thirdly, as much as I've allowed my actions to hurt me, I'm not oblivious to the pain I've caused others and you should all know this. Mercy is far and away my least potent spiritual gift. If there are those of you that want me to suffer for the pain I've caused - don't worry. I will for a very long time. Take solace in that. I actually was banking on more of you to crucify me than be forgiving. While this -has- happened before my case is unique in that I was fostering friendships and relationships and it eventually would cause some severe damage to them all. And I have to live with it. Do I want you all to believe me? Absolutely? Should you? That decision isn't mine to make. I've sought out what the best course of action was from others and right now it seems sticking around - for them - would be that option. I don't mind leaving. I don't staying after the interview for just desserts, name calling, rule breaking at my expense, and I came into this knowing that I had a potential to lose everything. With some of you, I have. As I should.
  6. My name is Hunter. .....No really that's my name. I've been known to the site as 'Hilda' for very nearly a year and a half now and I've let my alias grow into a nearly uncontrollable monster. The purpose of this thread is to put to death any false pretenses and either serve as an execution-by-majority or a place where I'm accepted for who I really am. That choice is on you, the individual reading this thread. I don't deserve anything but the worst. So, now that you've decided to come out - who are you exactly? For those that are close to me, there are not very many details about 'Hilda' that are different at all. - The differences of note are my name, gender, and age. I'm a 21 year old male named Hunter. My last name is 'White', which isn't too much different from Weiss at all. I know - worst alias ever. Why did you lie about yourself on the internet to begin with?My flawed line of thought back then was centered on the idea that Reborn wouldn't be what it is - a community full of people I owe more than my life to who made me feel like I was important in a time of weakness. I formed this alias simply because at the time, I didn't think I would become important to Reborn or it's people. I didn't think I was going to stay particularly long. I didn't think I would have people like to be around me or that I would enjoy my time as much as I had here. So when you -did- end up staying longer - why didn't you come clean sooner?Long answer short - I was a coward. Short answer long - I was afraid my status here hinged on my alias more than I thought - and that may still be the case. I'm not entirely sure. I -feel- like I deserve to be booed and ran out of Dodge by a mob wielding pitchforks and torches. There were several things that made me cling to the alias as I got connected. Friends, Ame, etc - that made it harder and harder to just let it go. My insignificant presence on this site grew into something beyond great that I owe you all a lot for - and simultaneously, a fortress that was difficult for me to escape from despite my better judgement. Why tell us now?Well, I wish I could say it's my own decision - but it's not. Instead of finally being brave I was caught red-handed. I think I'm in a tell-all or go-away situation. So I'm telling all. You all at least deserve the right to rake me over the coals for it. What changes are to come out of this? For several issues, your guess is as good as mine. If you can find it in your hearts to forgive me - please call me Hunter - I don't know what my status is anymore. I don't know how you all will regard me anymore. I don't know if I'll still have friends - nor do I think I deserve them. I think that is largely dependent on what direction you guys decide to take this information and go from. Do you have any regrets?Just one - that my cowardice put me in a position where I had to lie and hurt other people. I don't regret becoming a part of Reborn. I don't regret getting to know you guys. I don't regret sharing my struggles (which I can assure those who read this, were not fabricated) and getting your support. I don't regret watching progress be made. Right now, I don't know if all of that is enough to stop me from hurting over that one regret. So. That's all I have. Thank you all for hearing me out.
  7. The bloodshed prompted French President Francois Hollande to declare a state of emergency, order the deployment of 1,500 troops around Paris and announce renewed border checks along frontiers that are normally open under Europe's free-travel zone. Hollande convened a special security meeting Saturday morning after vowing to be "merciless" with the nation's foes following what he called unprecedented terrorist attacks. Reflecting fears in other European capitals of the risk of coordinated or copycat attacks, the British government scheduled its own emergency COBRA intelligence committee overseen by Prime Minister David Cameron. Fox News Even a War Hawk on terrorism such as myself hates to see hands being forced like this. Hollande was seen at the international friendly soccer match between the French and German national teams at the Stade de France - not only witnessing the bloodshed of his countrymen in person, but also with his own life jeopardized. It's a little reasonable to assume the grudge being "personal" in many ways than one here. I hope France truly does unify and handles the sanctions with grace - and I hope the world offers her the support it rightfully deserves. If you have to make the call to fight wars such as these, you always want to do it with foresight as opposed to hindsight. France was the first country to give America it's acknowledgement as it's own independent nation - even providing the Continental Army with reinforcements and supplies and bolstering it's strength from a disorganized militia to being the first framework for our armed forces today... The bond between our two countries is inked all over history. I hope we in some way can assist. Again, if any other Parisians happen to stumble across this thread, #PorteOuverte - Reborn will always be a place of respite to any and all who visit. Please make sure you tell us that you're okay - and you'll be in my prayers.
  8. ....I'll come back to this. For now, I hope you're birthday is a good one, friend. .......no seriously, I'll find something better to say. Watch....some space further down the thread.
  9. No, as far as something like The Islamic States of Iraq and Syria are concerned, I believe ISIS is bluffing on being involved as they usually do when some localized group of jihadists strikes a cord. It's still possible that ISIS assisted in providing the materials - though even that seems like it's entirely easy to acquire within the European Unionized part of the world. The 'ISIS Problem' though is that they are daring another "surge". They will use anything - even outside of their own doing - to incite American boots to hit Syrian or Iraqi soil. Again. Regardless of how I feel that situation should be resolved, the important thing is assisting our French neighbors and brushing off the collateral damage. The last thing we want to do is give that scum leeway and the feeling that they have gained something out of an act like this.
  10. It's easy to want vengeance, and it's easy to villify those responsible. The best way to counter terror isn't misguided accusations, but unity, outreach, and courage. I understand anger. I feel it just as many of you do. That's not what the world needs right now. Odds are, it's that emotion that led to a situation like this in the first place.
  11. - I'm going to agree with some of those move tutors only because the game feels needlessly forced in comparison to the bargain the moves actually provide, however, in the case of Smack Down, it's actually a defensable move. Rock Tomb needs to be an available TM, as does Incinerate, due to the fact that they are indeed lower tier TMs. The question that would have to be asked is "where" without changing the map significantly. I'm not as keen on early Move Tutors and I thought that concept was kinda tacky in Black/White 2. The easiest fix for some of these tutor moves (if they are also TMs) is to make them available in the Department Store starting around the floor the TM for Round is found. That way, these moves are somewhat earned, but also aren't much too late in the game to ever be considered. - The biggest thing that has always irked me in Reborn is how timing based Fishing is - even after it was fixed with the update. That is really the only legitimate annoyance for me. I like Reborn.
  12. #PorteOuverte - For those Parisian or French Rebornians out there, please stay safe and do make your voice heard. Worried about you all.

    1. Hiroki Tatsumi

      Hiroki Tatsumi

That's appreciated, really. The incoming times will be really hard since the tense was already something that can be felt, but i'm hoping we can get through an happy ending. If you could make something, pray for us, that would be appreciated, since only few people are praying in France, and god knows how much we're needing his help at this point.

      Take care aswell.

  13. Alright, so, I beat Shade, I obtained a "semi-legitimate" Ditto, and I made it outside of the urban jungle to Apophyll. Lots to explain later tonght - but FIRST!.... Let's start breaking down some potential team members. LOCKS for Kiki: Fearow has really come on quite nicely up to this point and it's usefulness is beginning to wane as more and more avian Pokemon are becoming available. You may be asking yourself "Wouldn't Flying types cause the field to lower everyone's accuracy?" This only applies for Special-based Flying type moves. The biggest reason I've carried Fearow this far is because throughout the early game - Earlier than when you can pick up Dodo, even, Ody - Fearow has been able to apply a complimentary learn-set to it's superior attacking stat - Physical Attack. Which means Fearow is a safe, familiar option that -won't-, I repeat -won't- cause issues with Kiki. It's typing isn't the greatest defensively, but after recently acquiring Roost and never missing regardless of what accuracy debuffs I may have with Aerial Ace, this battle may be a very good "Swan Song" for a partner who would easily make my top five favorite partners of this run. I might have to do that some time down the road. Maybe after Aya. Granbull's best time to shine is right here, as Kiki is supposedly very ill prepared for fairy types. Close Combat variants have the ability to even tackle Lucario if it can survive a hit (Mine's Heal Bell, so I'll probably need another answer for the Jackal Pokemon.) and after beating Shade, you are finally able to level this thing up to 43, where the move 'Play Rough' comes along giving Granbull some offensive might. For those of us that didn't pick up the Azumarill from the Mystery Event, Granbull is a solid out if you are looking for a physical fairy thus far. It even comes with Intimidate, which means Granbull will be able to get at least one KO for free after debuffing the physical attack of one of Kiki's Pokemon - and Fighting is a type that is susceptible to being reliant on physical attacks. Gothita is currently the most intimidating Pokemon stat/IV/nature-wise that I have in my entire arsenal. With Psyshock already and Psychic in the learn-set, Dark Pulse already there, and Shadow Tag to prevent any AI shenanigans, I can trap Kiki into some unfavorable match-ups. If this doesn't pan out the first time whatever, but this Pokemon just looks way too damn good to have it benched during a Fighting gym challenge. Supposedly, Psychic types also get some help from the field. Potential Pokemon for Kiki: Masquerain is......not going to get too many chances to shine in much of anything, but it's ability Intimidate actually works really nice with Granbull -AND- it's able to completely change the game by setting up my favorite hazard (after patiently leveling Surskit to 38)... Sticky Web. Web is really the only thing I could really ask for out of this thing, as it will still hold a lot of Surskit's moves or Struggle Bug in it's arsenal > but being able to slow down the remaining Pokemon on Kiki's team (provided the opening Pokemon doesn't just Meditate in my face.) would be a boon for other Pokemon on the 'Potential' list to set up or knock the pins down as they are reset. This Pokemon may make my scout trip against Kiki just to see how effective Sticky Web really is.... If it's bad, it won't make the final team. Banette, like Fearow, is starting to lose it's usefulness but is still in a great spot to assist for this battle. Will-O-Wisp cripples physical attackers, and with Sticky Web up Banette can get the burns off without taking damage AND being freely able to get off it's new toy - Shadow Claw, recently obtained from Shade as a parting gift. Shadow Claw is a STAB that won't see much use over Shadow Sneak due to Banette's often painstaking speed, but it takes advantage of the raw attack power Banette is able to bring to the table. Kiki's Ace, Medicham, with Sticky Web up, may be forced to take a Shadow Claw before retaliating. As before, Shadow Sneak is also available to provide the Grudge Pokemon with priority should it absolutely need it, which still will allow for safe revenge killing. Going again with the concept of Sticky Web, I decided to pick up Aromatisse over Slurpuff for three reasons. 1. I HATE SLURPUFF, 2. Not only can Aromatisse bring the highly opportunistic Fairy type pressure against Kiki, but it's also a good special defensive wall, which will give Lucario a little bit of resistance where it has looked grim with my earlier picks, and 3. I really like Aromatisse's learnset. Draining Kiss is my favorite Fairy type move, not dealing too much damage, but dealing enough -and- providing sustainability. Moonblast is just a really solid Fairy type offensive weapon to have somewhere in your party. Since I can't take Gardevoir to Kiki, why not take this thing? It's only drawback is that it is indeed slow and if Sticky Web -isn't- up, it will have to bulk it out to get going. Nidoqueen is the "redshirt-freshman" that I'm really excited about in the future. With the ability to pick up Earth Power by level up, and Sheer Force as it's ability, 'Queen plays a nice defensive special attacker that is capable of inflicting pain but also taking physical hits well. It's been said that Kiki is prepared for Poison types, but this weapon is a Pokemon that under the Web support can cause a weakened Lucario trouble, as well as anything else on the team for that matter, while being able to bulk other Pokemon besides Luke and 'Cham. The real fun for this Pokemon starts later down the road though, when Aya awards the player with Sludge Wave, giving Queen dual-sheer-force-boosted stabs to play with. The basic idea I've constructed is simple. Slow Kiki down and hit her with a type she's not prepared for for the most part, followed by safe-bets. I'm not a big fan of the Fairy type.... ...but Kiki was the start of my first attempts nightmares, and all bets are off at this point.

  15. Thanks for the tip, Ody! I might bench it anyway for for Heliolisk later on, only because it __also__ has electric terrain, has better coverage, and is faster. However, I -have- been unaware of Power Gem's ability to shuffle fields around. That's actually really good. Also, yeah, I'm getting really tired of these obscure resistences. Today I learned, I suppose. Again, thanks for the heads up. Speaking of Electric types, I picked up probably one of my all time favorite lines today - thanks to the first Thunderstorm of the run. This thing - which isn't due for tuning until a little bit later - is definitely a Pokemon I wanted to use. It has the advantage of Heliolisk in terms of taking Fighting type attacks better, not to mention both Heliolisk AND Ampharos in being outright immune to Ground type attacks. It's coverage is also very stellar, and depending on what's available first, I can decide if I want it to be a physical attacker or a special attacker, with the ability to pick up U-turn AND Volt Switch accordingly.
  16. Shelly was actually pretty straight forward. I was able to outsmart the AI here by keeping my Pyroar in the back of the party until the two rain setters were gone. This worked out well, as Shelly didn't go for Rain Dance. From there, it was a brawl tipped in my favor with Fearow, Ampharos, Pyroar, and Graveler. Don't BANK on Shelly not going for the water though. I may have just gotten really lucky. currently preparing for Shade, and I've only seen half of his team on my first dry attempt (I usually try to test the waters and sort of photo memorize the team for further preparation by just "going for it" before conceiving any kind of strategy if I'm not familiar with team composition. Wonky things you will see is Thunderbolt on Gengar, which is there solely to capitalize off of the Factory Field, putting Sharpedo at immediate risk for me. Scouted Pokemon: Prospective Counter Team: Pyroar will not be taking any damage from Shade's gym-sake STABs, and it's incredibly powerful with the one up on Tree and Doublade, so there isn't a reason not to run it. Ampharos can take advantage of the field and may not see much use after this gym, so I figured it may be best to retire it in style. Sharpedo can position itself to sweep. Houndoom can take an incoming Will-O- Wisp and instead get a boost to it's Fire type attacks with Flash Fire, and will also just put pressure on Shade due to it's Dark typing. My Banette not only has access to Shadow Sneak for super effective STAB priority -and- Will-O-Wisp to cripple the opposing Banette or other physical attackers, but also has access to the egg move Gunk Shot, which would do a serious number on the Trevanent should something happen to Pyroar. Golem has been one of the most reliable Pokemon in this run in it's own right, and may find a place to shine with Sturdy - although is the most tentative Pokemon on my projected team. Other Pokemon that may be of use: Shinies:
  17. Hi guys. I just wanted to update the thread title to the seemingly bestowed theme behind the team which I won't follow up on. Tomorrow (or much later today), I'll get into how I defeated Shelly, but for now, here's a couple of surprises I've worked or on the eve of battling "Mr. Shadow".
  18. I like to think the one or two theories are in play here for the sake of explaining away inconsistency in a manner that half-way defends the erroneous handling of the anime over the years. The infamous Ash's Coma Theory: Long story short, after getting attacked by the flock of Spearow in the first episode, Ash actually goes into coma, where he is experiencing his Pokemon adventures merely in his head, as he is truthfully in a hospital bed. The Ho-Oh Sighting Theory: In one episode, Ash sees a golden bird that looks mysteriously like Ho-Oh before Johto is even confirmed to the fanbase. Ho-Oh's PokeDex entry from Black and White reads as follows: "It possesses seven-colored wings. It is said that those who see Ho-Oh are promised eternal happiness." Ash sees Ho-Oh, and thus is able to stay a ten year old Pokemon Trainer and go wherever he wants catching Pokemon for the rest of forever. It stands to reason that being a Pokemon Trainer makes Ash happy. Both of these scenarios essentially take the essence of "time" out of the picture with reason. We watch the anime in episodal fashion, so we don't get the inside look on the development of Ash -or- his Pokemon aside from recaps of previous episodes at the start of the show -or- when one of Ash's Pokemon evolves. This legitimately opens the door for ASH to see his adventures in episodes and for him, especially if he's in a coma, to forget certain details about his Pikachu -or- remember them at various points in his journeys. Is it a shameless plug for the games? Oh yeah it is, but it's not like there isn't a justifiable explanation for the way the anime has developed. The Pokemon Company hasn't just thrown darts at the board completely in my eyes. Ultimately, Tomas is right, as long as Pokemon will be making Pokemon games, the anime will be on the sidelines cheering potential buyers on. I just like to look at it from a perspective that might make everything make a little more sense -while- still being a fan of the series.
  19. I'm hardly a professional battler, so my picks are actually on decent tiers....well, one of them is anyway. Worst Formats: Smogon Overused: My beef with OU isn't the parity, which has made the tier much better than it was last generation with all the ridiculous weather spam - but the centralization around the newest mechanics as well as my genuine dislike of legendary Pokemon in these battles. OverUsed houses MANY Mega-evolved Pokemon, and several legendary Pokemon - that do have a least a head and shoulders' difference over many of the other Pokemon in the tier. There is nothing too terrible about this tier other than it just doesn't redeem itself by harboring many of the Pokemon I like, and if I'm going to enjoy playing a tier, Johto's Elite Four member Karen stated it best. "Strong Pokemon. Weak Pokemon. That is the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled Trainers try to win with the Pokemon they love best." That doesn't mean people's favorite Pokemon CAN'T be an OU 'Mon - but the amount of elitism and emphasis on viability really contrasts with what I've always seen Pokemon as. Legitimate friends in a different universe that all have their merits. Not tools to achieve victory. Ubers and Anything Goes: One of my crowning achievements was low-laddering on Pokemon Online with my first RU team- in Ubers. Druddigon was able to do a lot of damage against the tier's prodominately Dragon type denizons, and if I was running Glare or Stealth Rock on it, it was able to outfox Aegislash. That being said, there lies the rub with Ubers. It isn't extremely balanced type-wise and it's a fairly exclusive club, meaning the tier will feel extremely repetitive. Little Cup: Like OU and Ubers - I actually enjoy these battles. A lot (there isn't a tier that I -don't- think is fun at all- I just like Pokemon a lot.) but Little Cup has a variety of issues that keep it from being a great tier. For one, forcing these Pokemon to be level 5 means that stats are hardly varied. Secondly, the tier seems to be all about being in the highest speed tier if you want to succeed, meaning it's very difficult to run other playstyles other than Hyper Offense. Thirdly, it's a pretty top-heavy tier and you will see the most viable Pokemon often. The redeeming quality for this tier is that it's different, followed by all of the denizens of said tier being incredibly cute. --- Best Formats: PU: The worst. Of the worst. Is one of the best. Mostly because when people allow themselves to dig around the tier, and put something together in which you have no confidence in only for it to work insanely well causes a lot of enjoyment. PU is the tier that really reaches for the hidden gems at the bottom of the barrel, and it's allowed me to continue to appreciate ALL Pokemon even after dipping my toes in the Competitive pool. The tier has some obvious favorites, such as electric types Raichu and Zebstrika, but it feels diverse and the mystery behind most of the Pokemon in front of you is what makes it a thrilling tier. NU, RU, UU: These tiers are all tied because the driving factor behind them all is that the Pokemon I like to use are found in these tiers. Period. End of Story. Mixed: (Two OU, Two UU, RU, NU - ideally, but optionally.) Smogon does a very good job of keeping things organized, but there are times where it just doesn't satisfy with variety. And you know what they say about variety. It's the spice of life.
  20. This playthough will be tempered pretty slowly as I gather some more Pokemon, grind, and what have you - but I figure I can recap what happened with Corey as major battles are fun to talk about. After saving all the Police Officers and Growlithe from Team Meteor, you expose Corey and he opts to pull out all of the stops against you, raising a couple of levels -and- breaking out the Corrosive Mist field, which will poison every non poison/steel type at the end of each turn. After picking up Facade from the Game Corner, my original intention was to use this field against him. I led with Vigoroth and got poisoned. However, that plan was quickly thwarted by a combonation of Corey's Focus Sash wielding Skrelp and an enhanced toxic "Bubble" attack, which didn't even allow Vigoroth a KO, let alone the sweep I was anticipating. At this point, I had to kill the field, and did so with Ampharos' Electric Terrain, then switching out to Donphan. Donphan was able to KO anything that was on the ground with Magnitude, setting up a pretty safe showdown between Ampharos and Crobat to finish.

    Finding Slakoth

With regards to Slakoth, just keep headbutting. There is a little bit of say from the only tile you can stand on with regards to even getting a wild Pokemon encounter. Because the lone Obsidia Headbutt tree only has one spot for you to stand and headbutt it, you will have to just press on from there. However, if you ARE getting regular Pokemon encounters and STILL not getting Slakoth, don't worry, a 15 percent chance isn't bad. If you're experiencing what I was experiencing with regards to not being sure there were even -any- Pokemon in that tree, well then, you may be there for a while - but it's there.
  23. Alright, it's been a little while, but I've finally beaten Corey and I'm working on a couple of new prospects. Here's some of my shining team members to this point: Here are some WIP's: (That's work-in-progress for those of you not acquainted with acronyms...or whatever those are called.) My Shiny Box is starting to get a little crowded: (x2) My Mystery Egg Pokemon just so happened to be THIS magnificent creature: ...and I've currently obtained my Department Store Member's Card -and- 2 stickers, which allows me to access things like the Air Balloon, Power Herb, the TM for Round, and EV training items.
  24. So, Baylor trotted out it's true Freshman quarterback out in it's outing against Kansas State and he put up some impressive numbers - but Baylor still needed a defensive stand to ice the football game after place kicking and defense didn't help Baylor stay far in front at the final whistle. Let me try to determine how this impacts their chances at the playoff. You can't blame last night on the offense. - and that includes Freshman QB Jarrett Stidham. The kid was 23 - 33 for 419 yards and racked up 3 TDs. He also rushed for a TD. The big difference offensively in this ball game was that Kansas State was able to put the breaks on Baylor's equally threatening running game - but in the end, that just highlights how DANGEROUS Baylor is through the air. Usually you're supposed to have the "W" if you can keep an entire team to only -just- over 100 yards on the ground. Baylor yet again has a championship worthy offense. The kid can play on the road. - which is particularly important as the remaining schedule offers up trips to Stillwater, Oklahoma and Ft. Worth, Texas. Kansas State's large crowd was wanting revenge for Baylor sinking Kansas State's 2012 national title hopes in Waco - and stayed in full force till the final whistle. Defensive Philosophy could turn some committee members away from the Bears - unjustly. Phil Bennett's defense is very much the equivalent of a tennis player and not so much as dominant a defense as we would hope for. That's largely due to philosophy. Baylor's defense is often times it's lethal OFFENSE whenever it's on the field for 10000000 plays a game and breaking the scoreboard. When the Bears' defense is on the field, all they want to do is "Break Serve" with the opposing team. If that means forcing turnovers and holding the opponent to field goals as much as possible instead of going for punts on every possession, so be it. They have confidence in their offense to widen the gap to the point where they can focus on bending without breaking. Glaring weaknesses that I see with Baylor The running game on both sides of the ball; opposing rushers easily knife through the defense, while a good defense -CAN- stop Baylor from doing the same on the ground. Baylor likes to draw flags. Expect A LOT of them from both teams when Oklahoma comes to Waco next week.
