Was this change from USUM? If so, it will be applied next episode with the rest of US/UM features. If it's from S/M and wasn't applied, it might be a bug/forgotten.
stat buffs happen on a generation-to-generation basis rather than game-to-game, so they should have been there already in sun/moon.
edit: https://www.serebii.net/sunmoon/updatedstats.shtml
I cant confirm these are all the stats gen VII changed, nor can I check whether the bases got edited. though its a good place to start for people able to access the game data, I suppose.

the example I gave are mostly the only ones genwunners focus on, ignoring things like Hydreigon and Bisharp that generally are better than the best gen one mon
but the best gen I mon is electabuzz and that one is the best of all pokemon ever created
joking aside, every generation has their good and less good designs. im usually more willing to overlook less creative designs from gen I and to a lesser extent II, because mons was still new back then. especially in gen I, even the creators themselves werent aware that what they were creating would be something that would stick for years and years. honestly, if you compare gen I mons design to, say, battle mechanics in gen I, the mons are really well made.

I disagree on quite a few points with this entire essay, but im feeling lazy so rip pointing those out.
id say there isnt a thing like 'the pokemon anime series' anymore. I can say that there was a pokemon anime series from the original series up until sinnoh league victors, but starting with best wishes the continuity dropped. the reason I say this is because from the og series up until sinnoh league victors, ash actually grew. he started out as a rookie trainer in the original series, started maturing and developing somewhat during the johto arc, became slightly more serious and strategy-focused in hoenn, and as soon as the battle frontier hit, you could just see that ash had become an actual veteran skilled pokemon trainer. that trend continued through sinnoh.
then unova happened, with the first 'reset' as you can call it. ash was dumbed down, pikachus strength got the biggest blow it had ever received (thanks snivy), and whatnot. this incarnation of ash could best be compared with how ash was in johto. kalos happened, and we jumped back to smart ash. not as smart as sinnoh ash by a longshot, but could be compared to hoenn ash. and then alola and we are straight back to kanto ash.
to me, this felt like it wasnt a real series anymore. rather, for every new region that was to be visited, a new series got created. from unova onwards, it didnt particularly expand on ashs story anymore- every region past sinnoh had their own ash, and every one of those ashs had their own story for that very specific region. new region? clean slate, new ash. I dont particularly like this treatment of the protagonist, and honestly think they should just pull a yugioh on this one and start over with a new one.
thats not to say I dont understand their decision of 'resetting' the protagonist every region. yeah, it appeals to us older viewers, but id imagine young and new fans would be rather disturbed if constant throwbacks are featured to older series that they never watched.

im sorry to disappoint you like this.

6.5/10, im not exactly sure whether its manga, anime or something else that the character is from, but it doesnt particularly appeal to me nonetheless.
also, to yall, since this topic focuses on rating the avi of the previous poster, ill have to ask all of you to take your conversation elsewhere. some other topic in the onyx arcade, statuses, pms...just about anything but here. otherwise everyone either gets their avi rated by the same person every time, or they end up not getting them rated at all due to conversation happening where it shouldnt be happening.

I can not respect stall. At all. to me, someone playing to have fun and hoping the opponent has fun as well, seeing someone play stall just makes me feel like that person is a dick. I see 0 skill in playing it because literally all you do is sit on 2 or 3 fat mons while the opponent wants to punch you in the face. mons like Toxapex, Chansey, Porygon2 and many more are just so bitchmade that I seriously can't respect it when people put all stall mons they can use on a team.
I dont particularly like the playstyle, but saying stall straight-up requires no skill is just wrong. to build a stall team and use its full potential still requires knowing how to play the game.
ive never used full-blown stall teams, though I do have to say that in a lot of my teams pokemon like porygon2 or tangrowth snuck in. especially the former.
back on topic.

alternatively I have a better idea. how about we focus on hurting the starters that arent mudkip and bulbasaur first? since all of those are obviously inferior to these two glorious warriors. I know, hold your applause, best idea ever, I know. im here till thursday. try the veal.

2 hours ago, Wolfox said:"only thing even remotely decent" I don't see Vaporeon with a Pixelate Hypervoice, do you?
main reason why sylveon is my second favorite eeveelution, which still doesnt mean I like it. I just recognize that it can put in work with stab pixilate hyper voice, and I will consider using it if need be. same goes for umbreon and especially vaporeon, but massively fuck every other eeveelution, especially glaceon.

healing vaporeon because its the only thing even remotely decent when talking eeveelutions, hurting glaceon because its unbelievable subpokemon trash even for eeveelution standards.

Tfw basically every fire type Ash has, has been abused, bullied, or had some other sob story related to it.
I dont recall this being a thing in the case of cyndaquil, mainly because cyndaquil was the most boring pokemon ash had during his johto journey. charizard had that backstory, infernape had it, pignite had it, litten had it. theres also talonflame but its a regional bird which usually equals to not having a character, so fuck that noise.
