    Fairy Tail Episode 122: my issue is not with Acnologia crashing the party out of nowhere. My issue is with how that caused a 7 years timeskip. WHY? What was the goal of the timeskip? What did it accomplish that couldn't have been accomplished without it? Was it really so crucial for the overreaching plot?

      I am being serious here. That moment felt like... Something done for the sake of doing it. Like, the arc could have ended without timeskip and the following arcs would have stayed exactly the same. It really added nothing and, to this day, it still perplexes me.
