The fact that Red doesn't canonically own a Marowak: I mean come on, to make the whole "Cubone''s dead mother" thing make a little more sense in the era of breeding, FR/LG made it a point to specify that Team Rocket didn't kill all Marowaks, but only a specific one, the mother of the Cubone that can be seen in a house in Lavander...
