  1. In regards to difficulty V13 was the first version that actually made me train up several new mons, before that I was running thru intense mode with my rain team and a small rotation, not that the game wasnt challenging before but I can appreciate the thought that went into making this version more hellish haha. As far as EVs/IVs are concerned, you should not be playing intense if you are not willing to EV train or debug evs into your pokemon, plain and smiple (having access to EV rooms at the beginning of the game is a vaild argument as well). I cant speak for normal or casual modes I've only ever tried intense

With that being said, long time players of rejuvenation have more to work with, not only do are we used to the playstyle and mechanics, we probably have items/pokemon that arent as available in these newer versions. So its understandable for newer players and people restarting to express some frustration.

The AI is annoying for sure, but it can be easily manipulated, sometimes I think the AI is too smart for its own good. I remember fighting Gearea this version, i had a Dark type Silvally and i basically spammed magic coat on his Dragpualt (as it continued to use Willowisp, AI was determined as hell to burn my Silvally) until it died from burn lmao. The double switches also become very predictable after a few tries

Basically these battles get easier with repitiion, unfortunately we wont get the satisfaction of heading straight into a battle and winning in 1 go (without a few restarts first), and i think that is everyone's main issue. I agree that it probably shouldnt be this way, but thats why we came here to play a more difficult game. It should give the player a sense of satisfaction defeating hacked mons and an All-knowing AI system. The devs are basically saying make your team as broken as possible (within the limits of the game), strategize and have fun with it. As terrorizing as these battles are, they are still winnable

Aight, so reading through this and I can't help but think that there is one key point being ignored or just isn't considered

The "canon" way to play Rejuv is on Normal mode. If you want an easier time or you want a bit more of a challenge then you have Casual and Intense mode, respectively. Or to put it simply, casual and intense mode are extra features. I think it's a bit unfair to expect the devs to develop this game around the needs of Intense (or Casual) mode. Sure, QoL are always nice and I believe they are steadily added into Rejuv as more are thought up and suggested (obviously, not all suggestions are taken into account. Some are too low priority or a bit unreasonable). But at the end of the day, the main focus of dev isn't looking at things from the perspective of "how is intense".

Now, just playing JRPGs in general, I'm personally not a fan of grinding to reach a specific end result (i.e. getting a specific character to specific level with specific attacks/abilities). So I can definitely empathize with what you're saying. But from what I'm understanding: a lot of the critique in your post looks like "intense mode should allow access to a formalized version of pokemon editing to save from the mindless grind". And I think the easiest solution to that is: just turn on debug and use that. It's a one line change to enable/disable it and should allow you to breeze through any of the mindless grinding.

I can't guarantee what future releases may add into the game. But to expect that specific features would be added for a certain mode only might be expecting too much as, once again, the game is developed and planned around Normal mode

I think the overall point tho is that having to use debug for intense is ridiculous in itself lol. Intense mode basically requires us to cheat mons (or spend a million hours breeding/training/searching like my guy said) every single time theres a new boss battle, and it should never be that deep. Im not opposed to having to find and train up new mons, it does indeed test the aptitude of the player, but these battles are so heavily affected by field effects, rng, and literally mons with 252 EVS in every stat, counter teaming is basically required. Earlier versions of Intense mode for rejuv werent as demanding (in the sense that you could win without having to rely on debug or counter team) and there were always helpful mons in the area pertaining to that gym leader or situation.

  3. I know the devs are probably busy, and working on a 13.0.3 patch (this problem has already been reported), but was just wondering if anyone had experience fixing saves? I just beat the puppet master and huey, now Im stuck as Saki in the hotel with her parents.

Apparently you're supposed to get a call from Erick after talking to all the text dots, but the text dots above the TV seems to be bugged, so I never get the call that triggers the next event. Would appreciate if someone was able to help.

    Game - 1125 - Saki - 300h 8m - 14 badges.rxdata

  4. im sure its possible to beat him using the guys that you have now, granted his team may be different now (battled him a few versions ago) but I relied heaviliy on my ampharos which wasnt even ev trained lol and beat him with Twave + confuse ray basically. Assuming your on intense I'd find a bulky electric type to eat hits and paralyze his team, in conjuction with your own Rock/Steel/flying types to take advantage of the field and eat hits

Did you make sure you werent standing in any of the maps that it said not to be standing in when starting V13 on an existing save?

Would you also happen to know about the bug concerning Saki at the penthouse? Were supposed to get a call from erick to progress in the story, but you cant interact with the TV text dots for some reason, leaving you stuck in there.

  6. The AI 100% knows your team (items. moves, abilities included), its exetremely frustrating because it (mostly) bases the turn on whatever move you go for (whether it be setting up, switching out, attacking, etc.) but it can also be manipulated as well. The AI will prioritize the game plan first unless they just have a clear advantage over you (meaning they can outspeed and ohko or deal significant damage to you). In my battle vs Madelis, whenever I led Snorlax, the crobat set up Sunny Day (prioritizing the gameplan for the mega houndoom, Cinncino, and Salazle in the back), anybody else I led with it would just outspeed and kill with Brave bird.

The double battle vs Risa for another example of manipulation. I had to give my 2 pokemon the resist berries just so that broken jigglypuff wouldnt go for super effective moves vs me. I initially gave it to them so I'd have a chance of living the hit lol, but the jigglypuff just opted not to use those moves (it ultimately helped me win the battle, as opposed to having other items equipped)

So yea its annoying as hell, but can be manipulated if you plan accordingly

I also play on intense mode and yes the fight does feel impossible without interceptor’s wish. I was also stuck at that fight and had to revert back to my old save and start from the beginning of the chapter again (redoing Erin’s route) because all of my 50 other backups were from the Melia’s route. I highly recommend loading up your save with v12 debug to tone the difficulty down to normal or easy, much more enjoyable for me even though I love v12 intense mode. Having difficulty fights without access to pc, forcing players to revert to an old save file, is just tedious, and this happened so many times.

I managed to do it somehow, took hella manipulating of the AI tho which is just crazy lol. Had to change the field, predict switches, toook a lot of attempts but we got it done. I also had no good backup saves to use so I had to figure it out haha.

start melia's adventure over if you can and when you get the option to use interceptor's wish, say yes then check ur party at first opportunity

also it is in your bag, its a key item but it has no mid adventure use as far as i know

Yea I know your character has the item, but in Melia's Bag the item isnt available to be used (have no idea if thats intentional or not). Also to my knowledge you cant start the adventure over. Im literally trapped underground until I complete this battle. Cant change the difficulty either it seems

its almost as if you were given the interceptor's wish for a reason, hmmmmmmmmmmm i wonder what it could possibly do

It's literally not in my bag, they ask you if you want to use the wish before you begin the adventure and you answer yes or no.

How do you access the wish mid-adventure?? Its not an item in your bag, and i dont remember seeing a different method of using it.

hint: use fast mons that can hit hard physically or is a water type, hell running drizzle can mess with the rain royally too

Unless im missing something, im pretty sure I cant change my team, Im stuck with Meila's team until this adventure is finished. Thats why its such a issue haha, didnt realize that i'd be stuck in a situation like this, otherwise i'd have just brought my own team

  11. One of the Adventure 2 battles (potential spiloer) :

    Spoiler

So I've reached the Madelis battle undegrouind, unfortunately I chose not to use the intercepters wish (granting me my team instead of Melia's). In addition to that im playing on intense which means Set battles, and no items. Melia's team is just not capable of winning under these conditions. If anyone has been able to get past this portion under these circumstances please enlighten me, becuase I literally will not be able to progress with the story ( I also cant go back and get my team, or change the difficulty temporarily for this battle)

I've tried many strategies (changing the feild, different leads, etc. but its all to no avail. Mega Houndoom is all of a sudden the bulkiest mon ever, Cincinno which should die to Sun boosted heat crash from Mega Lax (I calc'd it, it does 100% min) upon switch in manages to live on 1 hp every single time, and proceeds to outspeed Melia's entire team and flinch bascially everything. Salazle (which is sash) basically hits everything on Melia's team for super effective damage and can change the field to a firery one (again boosting it's own fire moves and the invetable mega houndoom which ohkos everything with 100% accurate fire blast.

I basically have to pray for hax (which literally never happens) if anything i'll get crit more or miss my attacks cuasing me to automatically soft reset cuz I need everything to go perfect just for me to stand a chance (but ultimately still end up losing anyways)

Where is she in the badlands? I can't find her for the life of me.

Not sure if you've found it yet, but its in the building above the pokemon center iirc (its been a while), also you have to have finished the storyline for this version (postgame only) to find them. If you still cant find em there are people on YT with videos that could easily show you the location

    1. Just because it can turn into 10 other fields doesn't make the fight marginally easier then anything else. Souta literally hits harder on Mountain Field then he does on Sky Field, and you only even get to do anything on Mountain Field after the 8 turns of Tailwind are up.

You don't get enough Seeds to just "slap em on all your Pokemon" for Adam. Unlike Reborn, Rejuvenation does not sell delete buttons for fights.

Your point on field changing is also null since if your point is that you can invalidate Souta via field changing to a field he doesn't like...you can do the same in reborn. What does Shelly do on Burning Field? What does Serra do after her field has been quaked? What does Charlotte do when her field is destroyed? The answer to all of these is simply, lose. So don't misunderstand and think just because Souta's field is suspectible to change that it means he's pathetic.

    2. If they aren't on your team after Shade, then that is on the player, not the game. My friend Azery has been destroying reborn effortlessly with a team of shitmons (Meganium, Swalot, Noivern. That whole deal.) I also think the fact that I'm still able to argue for difficulty despite being given those Pokemon should say something. Also, the second gym leader is fighting type. What's Rockruff and Alolan Grimer doing again?

    3. It doesn't since Intense Mode rejuv packs evs far earlier, has much more consistent difficulty, has new mechanics, special signature moves, Crests, Shadow Pokemon, and overall fights with more thought put into them.

Regardless it was a non-point anyway.

I guess if that was your point...then sure. But the difficulty is a lot more consistent, and being "nerfed" from absolutely broken and horribly designed doesn't mean easy, which is what I got that you were implying. There's no point comparing Rejuv to earlier versions of itself in a Reborn and Rejuv comparison thread.

I wasnt comparing the two directly, I was just doing so to make a point to those who say reborn is outright harder than rejuvenation, or that rejuvenation feels more forgiving

    Spoiler

Well I don't disagree with the "I think over the years the priority just became making the game as good as possible as opposed to anything else." I don't really understand the rest of your comment. I definitely think the hardest parts of Rejuvenation far outclass the hardest parts of Reborn. Most people immediately default to the gauntlet, and while I won't blame them, as it is kinda hard, there are some strategies, and even Pokemon alone that 30-0 the gauntlet (Lookin at you Trick Room and Mega Houndoom). I don't really see single Pokemon obliterating fights on their own in Rejuvenation, and Rejuvenation doesn't even have a conceptually unfair gauntlet. The best examples I can think of are Lycanroc to Crawli (Which is invalid now because of Telluric Seed Scizor) and a lot of Pokemon with Amber (Who's meant to be a breather fight anyway. Especially considering the absolutely hellish Geara+Zetta fight which is damn near infamous on Intense mode that comes right before it.) As for "Rejuvenation's difficulty being toned down". I guess I can see where you're coming from, but those fights were toned down because they were horribly designed. They're still very hard fights now and contribute nicely to the overall consistent difficulty of Rejuv's Intense Mode. So while those specific fights were toned down, the general difficulty of Rejuvenation hasn't gotten toned down in my opinion. Again, if you haven't, I urge you to replay Rejuvenation v12 Intense mode to see for yourself, since it seems to me that you haven't played in a while.

Lol I've already played thru V12 and I'm very familiar with how the game used to be vs how it is now and I have to say that the difficulty has defintely been toned down. You say the fights were horribly designed, I somewhat agree, but not only were the fights nerfed as a result, newer and better mons became available in areas that they weren't at first, then better items, access to EV rooms, more trainers, etc. Which goes back to my point about their priority being making the game better, as opposed to that challenging aspect. Which led Jan to introduce the different playing modes (Easy, Casual, Intense), for those who still wanted a kick of how the old rejuvantion used to be. In my experience Intense is challenging for sure, but with all the new techs available it will never seem as hard as the earlier versions of rejuvenation which is what my initial point was. Quickly addressing the gauntlet point, Im not sure why that is the first thing people go to when talking about reborn's difficulty as it is a series of battles that doesnt allow to change your team or strategy for each battle. I dont believe that it is the best example as it is meant to be a unfair challenge.

  15. While I agree Reborn has had way more hellish battles then Rejuvantion and you had to get really creative to win, I think Rejuvantion's difficulty was actully toned down over the years. I've been playing since the early versions and it was not always as simple as grinding with audino trainers and easily finding the mons you need to win. You had to use creativity and earn your wins just like in reborn (Spirit keta, Prenerf Narcissa, Prenerf Valarie) I know yall know what im talking about lol, they were worse then anything you will play on intense these days. I think over the years the priority just became making the game as good as possible as opposed to anything else.

So I'm at the part where you have to face two rift hippowdowns and well, I run a trick room team... Also they have an insane amount of Def and SPDef.

Don't tell me I have to build a new team to be able to defeat this rift pokemon, because that is just ridiculous.

    Any tips?

lol bro at least show us the mons that you do have so that we can give a strategy

  17. As some of you may have guessed, Im trying to defeat Neptune's OP ass lol, but I cant even kill the Heliolisk cuz EQ doesnt work underwater or so I thought, I looked at the field effect guide and it doesnt say anything about ground type moves not working or EQ specifically not working underwater. Everytime i try to EQ the Heliolisk the text literally says that I "used EQ" then the move doesnt even come out, the heliolisk just recovers its HP with dry skin and then I take the water damage from the field and die.

Am I missing something lol? Does EQ truly not work underwater?

  18. Normal types with unique moves and Dark types are your best bet. I remeber back when Narcissa was the devil incarnate lmao, having normal types and strong pokemon helped a lot, cuz her signature ghost move is so broken. If I could choose your team based off your box tho I'd use Persian cuz its fast, Sawsbuck, Luxray, Hariyama (for bulk),  and your Swampert, Cacturne or talonflame could be used too depending on how good their movesets are for this battle, also dont be afraid to catch new mons and train them, its kinda required in this game lol

Also if you have any niche items to help that would be great too, like a chesto berry for driftblim's hypnosis, things like that

  19. Hey all, I noticed that there wasnt a thread with the location of each clan member

    I've only found these:

    Gearen City

    Goldenwood Park

The dessert area near the gible (forgot the name)

And I know there is one on route 6 underwater but I just cant find them, I was actually hoping someone would shed light on this cuz I've serached the area at least 10 times and found nothing. Are they in the tower with the mearnie on top? Cuz that place is locked too and Im pretty sure its not linked to the Kingdra puzzle cuz those buttons didnt unlock that tower either.

  20. The Gang:

    Spoiler

So I trained up some new brokens for the rain squad.

Slyveon, Machamp, and Incineroar are some great honorable mentions tho, they've saved me multiple times

    ZMnB5bw.png

Kingdra and Croak are just unholy in rain lmao
