1. Ah, but you see, it's not explicitly stacked in anyone's favor, though!
I wrote about this a while back, with admittedly far too many words and numbers- http://www.pokemonreborn.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=3879- though it IS a little different with three champions instead of one, I imagine.

I'm unsure of exactly how Ame cheated adjusted the formula to make the changes a little less crazy (who knew Ame could make things less crazy? ^^), so maybe she can shed some light on the subject?

2. This month's a fun one, everyone!
Sit down, while I share with you all a story of calculations and miscalculations that weren't actually miscalculations! Now, if you recall from the wordy first topic I made this season, a leader's ranking is influenced by the leader exactly one block above them- in essence, one leader could "carry" another one up higher, indirectly.

So, that said... There were several iterations of this rankshift; Amethyst plugged in the numbers as we do every month, and...

Aya
Laura
Anna
Titania
Arclight
Noel
Terra
Amaria
Ciel
Adrienn
Charlotte
Bennett
Luna
Serra
Shade
Hardy
Saphira
Samson

As you can see, there are some very strange things going on here! Not only did Charlotte drop like a rock (ironic, because even Hardy went basically nowhere! ^^) but Saphira did the exact opposite, all thanks to Samson! This, uhm... Well, certainly this couldn't have been right, so Ame decided to try and base it on individual win rates instead. Maybe that would help!

Terra
Amaria
Ciel
Noel
Aya
Anna
Charlotte
Hardy
Serra
Laura
Saphira
Arc
Shade
Luna
Titania
Adrienn
Bennett
Samson

Nope.

Aya
Laura
Titania
Anna
Arclight
Noel
Adrienn
Bennett
Luna
Amaria
Terra
Ciel
Serra
Shade
Saphira
Charlotte
Samson
Hardy

This order was based on the expected difficulty of challenger (or so Ame says, I'm not sure what she means...) and was still a little off, so naturally, Ame decided to cheat bend the rules add a new rule to the super secret formula in an attempt to make it more normal... And so, we're left with the final shift:

Aya
Laura
Anna
Titania
Arclight
Noel
Amaria
Ciel
Adrienn
Bennett
Luna
Serra
Shade
Saphira
Samson
Terra
Charlotte
Hardy

Much better!

As always, for reference, the results of the rank shift can be found both on the Leader Line-up and the Leader Schedule pages! If you're the type that likes to save time, the schedule image can be seen below-

availa.png

You go, Hardy!

Until we meet again, keep up the questions for Terra's interview! I was rudely excluded last time, but this time around I'll be sure to spice it up a bit! Just a shame it had to be for Terra... Really, could it have been someone less... loud and one-dimensional?

You voted, however, and so I shall deliver!

3. We're a month into Season 3, and for all those involved enough in League, you know what that means!

It means it's time for me to ramble about the win/loss rates of all the Leaders- now with 100% less rambling! Without going too into detail (unlike last time...), Adrienn is off to a very strong start! Xe currently has the highest win ratio of every Leader that's participated in a battle yet! Well done! ^^

And on the subject of new leaders, a certain DJ Arclight has performed a little less spectacularly, but is still at an exact 50% win rate, which is more than I can say about some of the others... All three of Serra, Saphira, and Anna haven't won a single match yet, unfortunately... I'm sure they'll step it up with that in mind, though! Best of luck!

... And good luck to the challengers as well, because, as they say, it's about to get real! The remaining 6 leaders that have so far been un-involved comprise the Mega and Champion blocks! No more playing around!~

For reference, the results of the rank shift can be found both on the Leader Line-up and the Leader Schedule pages! If you're the type that likes to save time, the schedule image can be seen below-

availa.png

As before, for those unfamiliar with the Leaders' faces, I'll provide a list as well!-

Aya

Laura
Titania

Anna
Arclight
Bennett

Adrienn
Samson
Luna

Noel
Saphira
Serra

Shade
Ciel
Amaria

Terra

Hardy
Charlotte

That's all for now!

And someone let Anna win a match, poor girl!

4. Far from the only one~ After all, I am Reborn's premier celebrity. Alas, the game you have only has but a mere copy of me... (in more ways that one- spoilers~!)

But- if you do not defeat my master, then whoever shall?!

So prithee dear hero, take pity upon me as thou dost draw thine dagger from mine pure heart! Slay me if thou must, but do so swiftly! For in death is only bitterness, and so must the ship sink with her captain!

For the good of all, I give my life!!

5. And there you have it, straight from the horse's mouth~

So it looks like we've got two new leaders for the new season! Although one may be juuuuust a bit further off from the other. We'll see~ I wonder who it'll be... Maybe someone will shed some Light on the situation someday!

For now~ Fairy Leader!~

6. Psst

You didn't hear this from me (just kidding, you totally did, I mean who else would you hear it from?) but something's up!

As our challengers who have remained loyal to the online league through X and Y's release may know, there's been kind of a hiccup in the end-of-Gen-5 League plan~

Namely, on Thursday evening, we just lost a handful of leaders!

...Okay, well, it's not like they won't be coming back. But, despite being scheduled, Anna, Noel, Charlotte and Sigmund have all failed to show up for their battles, and were unavailable for the last two days! When asked, Amethyst said that she had tried to get in contact with them, but none of them would respond. I wonder why?

Well, for those of you who weren't around on Thursday evening, I'll be happy to give you the play-by-play of what we know. Yes, yes, thank me later!

It all began when Sigmund, in the heat of battle with another challenge, excused himself. Minutes passed, and... more minutes passed and... ...more minutes passed and he timed out. His aggrivated challenger drew the attention of Anna, on for her own challenge, and she said that he had gone to answer a visitor at the door- and that the conversation between them was growing increasing heated.

Now, hm, what would that be?

Super spy Noel went to check it out, and it turned out...

[Reborn]Anna: No, it's the cops...[Reborn]Anna: I said I wanted them to come, but now I'm scared... I don't know what's going to happen...[Reborn]Anna: If he goes to jail then what's going to happen to us?MrMeowMix: Absolutely nothing because the cops are useless[Reborn]Anna: ...Yeah, I can't deny that either.

Of course, the whole conversation was derailed very quickly...

Bazaro: you guy DO realize that whenever sigmund gets back on, he can see everything we've said?[Reborn]Anna: ...That's a good point though, what if he does decide to read it...[Reborn]Anna: Quick, someone kick him!Ikaru: OK![Reborn]Anna: I'm just kidding!Ikaru told [Reborn]Sigmund they were dreaming.Ikaru: oh.Joker: ...Renzo: Lets be re- LOLJoker: really IkaruZetaark: welpSparky: ...Zetaark: that just happenedDark Desire: Wow now i won't ever get my rematch ):[Reborn]Anna: ....Okay, that was a little funny.

Of course, then Charlotte invited herself onto Sigmund's now-vacant computer, and--

Renzo: I wonder what Sigmund's cell mate will be like[Reborn]Charlotte: Hopefully a big burly black guy.[Reborn]Charlotte: And I'm gonna hope Sigmund drops the soap.Ikaru: PFFTMrMeowMix: OH GOD!!!Zetaark: drops the soap?[Reborn]Charlotte: Just kidding, no one would touch him anyway.[Reborn]Anna: Wait, why is he dropping soap?[Reborn]Charlotte: I'll tell you later.Ikaru: it's slippery and we're hoping he'll step on it and fallIkaru: !

Charlotte, please! There are children here!

But jokes aside~ The situation is tense! I'll relay it straight as it was:

[Reborn]Anna: I think he just ran into the back...Jory: Char, you might want to hurry. I think he'll be back soon.[Reborn]Charlotte: ...On the contrary.Renzo: Gun him down coppers![Reborn]Charlotte: If things go the right way, he might not be back for a long time.[Reborn]Charlotte: ...But I wouldn't count on that...[Reborn]Charlotte: Not with the way things have gone in the past.[Reborn]Anna: Police chase! Police chase![Reborn]Anna: Everyone make siren noises![Reborn]Anna: Weeeeoooooowwweeeeeoooow!JinX: WEEWOOJory: WEEEOOOOOOOOWWEEEEEEWOOOOOOWEEEEWOOOOOBazaro: WEEWOOWEEWOOWEEWOO[SOS]ShinigamiCy: ...?Jory: BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMrMeowMix: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJory: BWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOJory: WEEEWOOWEEWOOWEEWOOODark Desire: weeewoooo~ o:[Reborn]Charlotte: I'm afraid they're gonna kick us off.Renzo: why AnnaRenzo: why[Reborn]Charlotte: They're rounding up everyone else in the commons area.[Reborn]Anna: Siggy's hiding! Siggy's hiding![Reborn]Charlotte: No, I don't think so.[Reborn]Charlotte: He has some other plan in mind...Some other plan? Now what could that be- But it seems our young leaders told us just a few moments later, overhearing one of the officers' radios:[Reborn]Anna: Radio call! Shout out to the world![Reborn]Charlotte: ...Oh, good. He's going for the orphange's fuse box.[Ironfist] Trevo: Fusebox?Jory: He's cutting them off!Jory: AnnaBazaro: stahp him so we don't lose the leaders! D;[Reborn]Charlotte: Go figure the electroconvulsion guy would do something as silly as that.[Reborn]Charlotte: Tch, we'll be fine.[Reborn]Charlotte: Although there is one concernJory: Char, take care of everyone.[Reborn]Anna: Yeah! We have don't done battles yet![Reborn]Charlotte: That's not important.[Reborn]Charlotte: There is one significant concern.Jory: What's that?[Reborn]Charlotte: If this actually does happen,

...Aaaaaand then they both disconnected. It seems Sigmund meant to confuse the police by pulling the power to his own orphanage- and there's been no word on how the conflict resolved!

What could have happened to the old man? And the orphans? And what was the single concern that Charlotte was about to mention?

Stay tuned to find out!

XOXO

7. Hello! Gossip Gardevoir here in Interview Intermission, bringing YOU the inside scoop on Reborn's celebrity figures!
Did I get that right? I think I got that right. Have to be consistent to my script, you know! And it's only natural that I should have my own program in Reborn. After all, I am Reborn's favorite newscaster.
Anyway! As long-ago promised we're here with our first in a series of Leader Interviews, to help you, the average Reborn layman (and/or laywoman), become most intimately acquainted with our leaderly population!
Up today? The one! The only! The most esteemed Doctor Sigmund Clownal Connal!
...Though I am limited to the dumpy text of this forum, imagine, dear readers, if you will- roaring applause, shining lights, the curtain opens, and through the threshold does the good Doctor step, the spotlight deigning to remove itself from my grace to cast him in the shine of center stage!
So, thank you for joining us on the front page, Doctor- How do you do? Are you well acquainted with the limelight?
By necessity, I cannot say that I am.
And that is quite all right- everyone's career starts somewhere, does it not? Although I daresay yours might be over before it starts, with your age... Are you still hanging in there? Should I speak softer? I shouldn't like to induce some manner of heart attack.
That will be quite all right.
...Yes, well! Let's start with the basics, shall we? Would you mind telling everyone your real full name?
Sigmund Connal.
...Well, that was about the most underwhelming answer you could have possibly given, since we already knew that... C'mon, don't you have a middle name?
I do.
Tell us!
It is of no consequence, however: Albrecht.
Sigmund Albrecht Connal... Sounds weird. Okay, well, moving right along. We mentioned your age before, and given that you don't intend to have any heart attacks any time soon, would you mind telling us- just how old are you? And what's your birthday?
I am fifty two years. My birthday is August 13th.
Hm... So that makes you a Leo! No wonder you seem so stuck up most of the time...
Excuse me?
Hm? Oh, nothing!
I am not so concerned about your backhanded remark as I am about the popular fallacy which you have herein reinforced. Please do not promote the folly assumption that something as arbitrary as the date of one's birth can possibly have any impact on their traits or personality. Such magical thinking only results in hackneyed beliefs and self-fulfilling prophecies and will not produce any tangible positive effect on a person's condition aside from the occasional note that "on Sunday, the stars will be in a good place for you to speak to your loved ones."
...Riiiiiight, well... Let's move on to a user submitted question! Are you ready for this one?
I expect that my answer will have no observable effect on your procedure- so I may as well say 'yes.'
Ah! You ARE an intelligent man after all! Very well, the question the user submitted is this- and it is a critical matter, so please steady yourself...
The question is-
Do you like pie?
...
...Yes.
...Please, Doctor, try to contain your excitement! This is a public environment, you know!
Your sarcastic wit may be said by some to be endearing. Regrettably, I am not among that 'some'.
Blah blah, moving right along~ Mister Doctor, tell us why you decided to join the Reborn League!
In order for the children under my care to be permitted to attend this league, I must likewise be present. This is by necessity.
Hm? Why do YOU need to be here just so they can? Couldn't you just trust Ame and the other auth to keep an eye on them?
As I am the legal guardian of the twins and Charlotte, I am responsible not just for their care, but also their psychological development. I will remind you that the individuals in question are not entirely mentally stable. As such, it is imperative that I maintain a steady observance over all environments to which they are subjected. The children are not to leave the orphanage- it hardly would follow, then, that they should be allowed online. However, I have made a special exception for the children in question as a privilege to them. The condition of the privilege is my mandated presence so that I may ensure there are no incidents.
I see... So then I'm curious- when you joined the league, did you choose your own type? Actually, come to think of it, how does an old guy like you even know to play this game? Pokemon was originally a kid's game!
The deal that I organized with Amethyst necessitated that I play such a game. In order to observe the children, I would need to be present to the environment. In order to do that, I would need to play as a leader myself. On association, I was granted my choice of the remaining positions, and Amethyst instructed me in how to use it.
Oh? So, tell us! Why did you choose the Electric Type.
...Suffice it to say, it suits me.
Well that's a non-answer if ever I've heard one... Let's say this: If you were allowed to use an extra type for your team, which would you pick?
This is hardly of consequence, however... I must answer Water. I have observed mechanical synergy between the types, not only in resistances but additionally in the functionality of rain.
Makes sense. Okay, tell us! Who's your favorite Pokemon? And why?
Electivire. It is for no specific reason beyond the utility it has granted me in my duty.
Okay, okay... Let's move onto some more... intimate questions~
I worry at your phrasing of that.
No need to worry, good Doctor! I hardly mean it like that... Well, I mean, I could... Yes! The readers want to know the scandal behind the stethoscope, Doctor- tell us, hm... What's your favorite position?!
Senior psychiatrist and operating warden.
You are literally THE most boring person.
That may be, however I cannot forsake my reputation for mere chortles, as you seem so anxious to do.
Excuse me, my reputation is more than just "mere chortles"! I AM Reborn's favorite celebrity, and YOU would do well to check your privilege.
I will "check my privilege" when you account for your own narcissistic qualities.
Narcissistic? How dare you say that I'm full of myself when I'm the one interviewing YOU!
But you do so for the advancement of your own "career," do you not?
Well duh! It's not like you're the one getting famous off of publicity.
Then your presenting this interview is self-serving, and it is indeed for the sake of your ego. As such, it can be said to be an affect of narcissism.
You are infuriating! Would you have me just drop the interview then for the sake of modesty?
You may do as you wish. It is not my job to tell you how you ought to change; I only offered my regard of your position. If you find yourself upset by the insinuation of its nature, however, that may suggest a latent discontent in your own opinion.
Hmph! Now you're saying that I'm secretly unhappy! Nonsense! I'm a star! I couldn't be happier!
You say that so fervently, I must ask: Just who are you trying to convince?
No one!
Then why say anything at all?
Because I was correcting you!
So you're trying to convince me?
Yes- no!
Then who? There's no one else present.
Well, the audience will hear this!
So you're trying to convince them.
I don't need to! THEY already know.
Then who's left? ...Hm? If you're not trying to convince me, nor anyone who will see this transcript... By process of elimination, I conclude you must be arguing to yourself.
I am not!
You seem rather distressed. Not to worry, this is a normal occurrence when one finds unresolved dissonance within their own cognition. If you would like, you are free to call my office and schedule an appointment for us to talk about this.
Stop that! This is my session, not yours! Or... your session, not mine, depending on how you look at it... ...The point is stop! Look, we've only got one question left for the interview- this is another user-submitted question, so! "Sigmund- Who is your sister?"
...That is not a question I can answer.
....Hm?
The question is improper. I do not have a sister.
What? No, my sources are not wrong! It was mentioned before, I'm sure of it! You definitely had a sister, I heard it myself!
"Had." Yes.
...Wait, you mean...?
She is dead.
...Oh... I, wow. I feel bad now, I'm sorry... Would you tell us about her?
Your guilt is as short as your temper. You will express remorse and in the same breath press it further?
So sorry, Doctor! And while I will cry for her loss, I cannot leave a hook like this un-addressed!
Truly, your sympathy knows no bounds.
Hey! Now who's being sarcastic? C'mon, won't you tell us just a little bit about her? What was her name?
...Elizabeth.
And how long ago did this... happen?
Hrm... Let's see... It would now be.... forty two years.
Oh! I did not quite expect that- so long ago! I feel a little better now. But if you're now just in your fifties...
Yes, she passed away when I was ten.
Goodness! She can't have been very old herself, could she?
She was a few years older than I. There is no disputing that it was too young an age to have warranted such an end.
Will you tell us what happened?
I do not wish to.
Pleeeease? It was so long ago, what harm could possibly be done? At least just tell us how she died?
...After much strife and emotional torment, she took her own life. And due to inopportune timing, I became the unfortunate witness.
That's terrible! Was there nothing you could do to stop her?
...You have heard, I am sure, the phrase that one can lead a horse to water, but cannot make it drink. This becomes especially true in dealing with self-harming and suicidal patients. When all is said and done, they are solely responsible for their own outcome. To physically restrain them only compounds the sense of lost control which drives them to that end in the first place- for oftentimes, to take control of their own life, or their own physical well-being is the only form of control they feel that they have left in an otherwise turbulent world. To rob them of that is to disarm them of their last ability. In short, a person with a desire to die cannot be stopped. What must be stopped is that desire.
Oh! I get it! That's why you went into psychology, isn't it?!
I cannot deny that. After Lizzy left us, I was infuriated that no one had been able to aid her. She attended countless doctors, swallowed numerous medications- In the end, she was barred from the only treatment that might have still helped. I entered the profession with the purpose of correcting that flaw; so that I might save children in the future from the same grip of despair... At that age- it is too young for any to die. It is with pride that I protect the children of my orphanage from the danger of the streets, the world, and their own darkness.
I would be lying if I said I thought much of you before, but I'm rather impressed. Although one thing- when you say that she was barred from treatment- why was that?
Petty law. Irrational fear. Public stigma. One of her therapists had mentioned that in the past, this form of treatment had been effective with similar patients- but a recent legal ruling outlawed the practice.
...Outlawed? What kind of treatment would that be?
You haven't guessed? It was ECT. Electro-convulsive Therapy. In lay terms, Shock Therapy.
Could that really have saved ... Elizabeth, right?
Lizzy fit the former criteria to have applied for ECT with a reasonable chance of success. However, at that time because of the social stigma associated with the practice, there were none willing to preform it. She thus, was allowed to perish. This is a mistake I intend to correct. In my present work, though discouraged by the popular grievances, I explore the limits and applications of ECT so that we may all be better informed as to the truth of its usage, risks, benefits. And, so to ensure that there is never again, a little girl who finds cause to cut her life out when there may yet have been hope for her future.
I see... That is almost noble of you, Doctor, if still slightly unnerving...
Any cause for unrest regarding the procedure is purely imagined. When done properly, there is no notable risk.
Well, that's easy for you to say... Much easier, I will confess, then talking about such a marred past. So I thank you, Doctor, for joining us in the first edition of Interview Intermission. Thank you for your time!
And to everyone else- that's all on today's Interview Intermission! Until next time!

8. We realize that she's been kinda...over the top recently, and as such we're going to put some metaphorical shackles on her, which will (hopefully) reflect in her general actions as well.

Excuse you? I've already been working on that! Was the rankshift post not good enough?

As for the rest! I look forward to being everyone's medium, so get those questions ready! ^^

9. And here I was beginning to think nobody would actually read that part! Remember, the focus of the topic was the rankshifts themselves- the details were optional! ^^

Speaking of details,

Yay gardevoir!

... wait

His (Sigmunds) sister would be proud. ^^

Is that who I think it is...? O.e;

I'm glad someone noticed! Who do you think it's referring to...?

It's not Julia! ^^

10. That's right! It's been two months (or so!) since the last rankshift, and it's about that time again! For everyone who hasn't already seen the new schedule or line-up pages, fear not! Your local Gossip Gardevoir is here to make you aware of the changes!

But first, speaking of changes, how's the new avatar looking? My tumblr no longer exists, but luckily I was able to recover this fancy picture from it! ^^

Now, on to what you're here for!

Of course, it's clearly available on the aformentioned pages, but for those who don't want to switch tabs or windows back and forth, here is the new order that was put into effect yesterday-

availa.png

And for the newer challengers that can't quite associate pictures to faces yet, the new order is, organised in blocks of four as per the League rules-

Aya

Laura
Sigmund
Bennett

Noel
Anna
Titania
Shade

Luna
Ciel
Samson
Terra

Hardy
Charlotte
Serra
Saphira

Amaria

"But Gardevoir," you're probably asking, "how does this all work?"

I can answer that, actually! I interviewed Amethyst herself and figured out how everything is calculated. It's a little complicated at first, but I think it makes sense! ^^

Now, the first important thing to note is that the entry leaders (that is, Aya, Laura, Sigmund and Bennett) have the simplest calculations. In the cases of these four, their scores are simply their number of wins divided by the total number of battles! Simple, right? If we didn't have the four-badge above restrictions on the higher leaders, it could be that simple for everyone. But it would also probably be equally chaotic! ^^;

So here's how it works for the higher leaders, although it's more or less the same- quoth the Amethyst:

For leaders above entry, the win rate is calculated using both their own percentage of wins, and the a fraction of the score of the highest leader who's badge is required to face the one in question.

So for instance, one has to have the first badge to fight the fifth leader. So the fifth leader's score is their own win % plus part of the first leaders'.
This continues upwards to number 16.

When asked about "the fraction of the score of the highest leader who's badge is required to face the one in question," she elaborated-

Just three quarters. It's kind of an arbitrary ratio but changing that makes rankshifts more or less volatile, and this seems to work all right.

Now, I'll have all the details leader by leader after this, so don't lose interest yet! So, we've gone over positions 1-16, but what about Amaria? Why has there never been a new champion within the same season? Amethyst had an explanation for that as well!

Then, since you need every badge for the champion, not just number 16, the value of the highest-scoring leader is taken rather than what's just four-below her.

Her own win percentage is added to that, still, like any other leaders', which means that it's impossible by set up for the champion to have a lower score than the highest scoring non-champion leader.

Some would say this is a little biased towards her favorite leader, but this has been the same since Season One as well, when Lin was the feared Dragon champion. Naturally, of course, I had to ask "what if?" What would it take for the champion to be dethroned by another leader? Surely it wasn't actually impossible? Would she just have to lose every time?:

Literally all the time. That would give her a score equal to the highest scoring non-champion leader, and then we would probably need to stop and say, okay, why is this not working? Were the challengers actually that high skilled, or is there another leader that can do this job better?

This is all hypothetical, of course; we've seen Amaria battle, even before she was champion, and I'm almost certain we have nothing to worry about! ^^

Now, for the details! We'll go in order, as they were pre-shift. A special thanks to my unnamed source for these numbers~

_______________________

First up was Aya:

Total Battles: 92

Total Wins: 57

Total Losses: 35

Total Win Percentage: 62%

Still a positive kill/death ratio win rate, at 62%, but not quite positive enough to move out of the lowest spot... Is she too focused on a certain Rock-type leader to do so? Or perhaps (and more likely!) she's improved thanks to him- previously, her win rate was a near half-and-half 51%! Maybe next time!

------

Second in line was Laura:

Total Battles: 84

Win Rate: 55

Loss Rate: 29

Total Percentage: 65%

Only very slightly better than Aya, but, not considering the number of battles overall, Aya has actually won more than Laura has! So very close! Interestingly enough, the previous rankshift had her placed at a 62% win rate, with the numbers not all too different than they are here... Contrary to Aya, perhaps the relationship she struck up with Bennett hasn't had much of an effect on her overall rank... Or maybe I'm just trying to connect dots that aren't necessarily related... ^^

------

Following Laura, a little conveniently... Sigmund:

Total Battles: 70

Win Rate: 52

Loss Rate: 18

Total Percentage: 74%

Mister- Sorry, "Doctor"- Controversy himself has a win rate more than 10% higher than the two below him! One has to wonder what contributes to it? Is it actual skill? Is it the lower number of total battles, or, chances to lose? Could it be the triples catching everyone off guard?

It might be all of the above!

His sister would be proud. ^^

------

Last of the entry leaders, and debatably least Bennett:

Total Battles: 79

Win Rate: 66

Loss Rate: 13

Total Percentage: 84%

Still a lower number of total battles than Aya or Laura, but a very impressive win rate! If you were paying attention to what I mentioned before (that is, the rule about entry leader scoring versus non-entry scoring), you're going to eventually see that Bennett is held back from as high as the 16th spot with this kind of win rate only by rules and technicalities! Of course, due to these, we won't be seeing any extreme jumps... well, ever, but he's certainly showing promise! Clap, clap, Bennett! Aaron's training isn't going to waste! ^^

------

Now, on to the higher leaders. Remember, these are scored slightly different, but generally still heavily based on their own performance! Previous order dictates we start with Noel:

Total Battles: 37

Win Rate: 22

Loss Rate: 15

Total Percentage: 59%

...Well, Noel, cuteness won't get you a higher win rate, unfortunately! But I suppose that's not fair- he has a drastically lower number of total battles (as expected!), and as such a more volatile ratio. I think, based on previous shifts, we'll call this Terra syndrome from now on. We're going to see it a lot from here! Don't get discouraged, Noel, and... well, everyone else!

------

... Shade:

Total Battles: 32

Win Rate: 22

Loss Rate: 10

Total Percentage: 69%

...

Get the 69 jokes out of the way now- I know someone is going to try it! That said, not bad, Shade! Having five less battles than Noel, he also lacks the extra five losses. Perhaps everyone is too intimidated by him to challenge him more often? He's not that scary!

------

It seems like the leaders have almost instantly gotten less wordy, and although nobody can top Shade in that category, Titania would probably enjoy trying to...:

Total Battles: 15

Win Rate: 8

Loss Rate: 7

Total Percentage: 53%

...and with less than half of the total battles of even Shade, it might not be so hard! Unfortunately, this affects her win rate rather extremely, with each battle weighing almost seven percent! It's a good thing she didn't lose any more than she did... But it's not all your fault, "Tania!"

------

After Titania is the second of the orphan twins, Anna:

Total Battles: 22

Win Rate: 10

Loss Rate: 12

Total Percentage: 45%

... Ouch. Psychic is generally one of the better monotypes outside of the League, but maybe Anna still has some things to learn... I'll see if I can teach her a thing or two! Although, I wonder if it's her, or if the challengers are just more prepared for her? ... Perhaps she's got other things on her mind...?

------

Breaking away from that Sapphire line streak, we have Samson:

Total Battles: 31

Win Rate: 22

Loss Rate: 9

Total Percentage: 71%

That's more like it! Naturally I prefer the Psychic-type, but Samson is making the Fighting-type work well! It must be the Trick Room and/or the Triples! I think he's trying to impress someone... ^^

------

Following very closely in win rate, Hardy:

Total Battles: 29

Win Rate: 20

Loss Rate: 9

Total Percentage: 69%

This looks a lot like Shade in all aspects, but unlike Shade, Hardy has been at least somewhat consistent in "rocking" his opponents (more so than some of the leaders ahead of him!), and because of it, has moved all the way up to what we call the Elite Four block! Way ahead of your sis now, Hardy, and with the same strategy you've used forever! Forget what she says- we're all proud of you!

------

Here's where the total battles start to really shrink, and it shows! Starting with Ciel:

Total Battles: 18

Win Rate: 10

Loss Rate: 8

Total Percentage: 56%

A definite improvement over her rates from the last shift- previously, her win rate was an almost negligible 29%! Of course, this was also due to the aforementioned Terra syndrome (anyone who was at the holiday party should be especially amused by this! ^^), only having seven battles total! I hope your act balances out soon, Ciel!

------

Second (Third?) only to Master and myself, and my personal favorite this season, is Luna:

Total Battles: 17

Win Rate: 8

Loss Rate: 9

Total Percentage: 47%

... and she's... not doing very well. It's okay though! Maybe it's just a temporary memory loss; that happens all the time! I'm sure she'll bounce right back soon! Her previous rate was 71%, so I know she can do it! ^^

(and secretly, even if she doesn't, she's still the best, even if she went from one of the most popular leaders to... one of the... not-most popular leaders... What's everyone doing?! Show her some love; she probably needs it!)

------

*ahem* So, anyway, next up was Saphira:

Total Battles: 21

Win Rate: 17

Loss Rate: 4

Total Percentage: 81%

And wow! She boasts the third-highest win rate, second only to Bennett (who's had nearly four times the battles) and Amaria (duh)! If she keeps up like this, Laura and Charlotte have nothing to worry about, and Sigmund better look out! Is her desire for revenge what fuels this rather high win rate? Considering how quickly her battles tend to end, maybe it's more than that... Charlotte herself says that "awesome runs in the family," and considering the huge comeback from her initially abysmal performance, I'd believe it. ^^

Way to shoot up to the 16th spot, just below the champion, Saphira!

------

Speaking of the champion, we're nearing the end; next up is Serra:

Total Battles: 19

Win Rate: 14

Loss Rate: 5

Total Percentage: 74%

Using the tried and true "Blizzard spam" that the previous Ice-type leader (and local oaf king) Blake had perfected, Serra retains a very respectable win rate, despite her protests that she's not as skilled as she lets on- of course, her negativity is just a side effect of her now-past modeling career (and by that, I actually mean her failing relationship with Bennett, but you didn't hear that from me! ^^). Yesterday's shifts have put her just below Saphira, making her the 15th-ranked leader! You don't get there with no skill, Serra!

------

From Ice to Fire, Charlotte:

Total Battles: 12

Win Rate: 8

Loss Rate: 4

Total Percentage: 75%

Only a single percent higher than Serra, and - last I checked - with a very similar strategy, Charlotte had quite a few less battles than many of her competitors, but she still managed to finish with a 75% win rate! Not bad at all, but I hope that isn't the hottest she can burn- maintaining a high spot like hers might end up being difficult! ^^

------

By non-champion process of elimination, Terra:

Total Battles: 10

Win Rate: 6

Loss Rate: 4

Total Percentage: 60%

Unsurprisingly, the most apparent case of Terra syndrome comes from Terra herself! With only 10 battles to her name in the last ~two months, her win rate is about as volatile as she is... A single loss more would have dropped her win rate by a huge ten percent! At least four couches remained safe? Hm.

I wonder how she'll handle such low challenge rates in the future...

------

Last, and this time definitely not least, Amaria:

Total Battles: 23

Win Rate: 20

Loss Rate: 3

Total Percentage: 87%

Also to no one's surprise, she retains the highest win rate of every leader, and with a relatively high number of battles too (even if they were mostly against the same four to five challengers)! I suppose those two go hand in hand, though.

... Speaking of hand in hand, it's a good thing her spot as Champion is 100% secure- I hear she's got something troubling her lately.

Or, someone, rather...

________________________

That's all for now, and if you kept up with this extremely long post, kudos! ^^

If you didn't, however, I'll recap the new order here, again, divided in blocks of four:

Aya

Laura
Sigmund
Bennett

Noel
Anna
Titania
Shade

Luna
Ciel
Samson
Terra

Hardy
Charlotte
Serra
Saphira

Amaria

Keep this in mind for future challenges, and thanks for reading!

5-0'd Laura after critting Serperior and her misplaying with Breloom against Bisharp (she didn't Mach Punch and I wound up Psycho Cutting it into oblivion).

5-0'd Shade, would have been 6-0 if my Gorebyss didn't get burned.

Aya was a LOT closer, and I would have lost had I not gotten a bunch of crits early on, including two Psycho Cuts in a row. Beat her 2-0.

MVP so far: Bisharp
Other MVP: Gorebyss
Um, excuse me. This is MY show. This is MY thread. I call who are the MVPs and who are the flops! This is my spotlight and it'll shine brighter than ever before with the return of the Reborn Highlights!~
12. Out of a total 20 battles last night, a total of 9 challengers won!

Among those who did not was, naturally, Eternal Edge vs Aya, round 2! Although there's no sleep to blame it on this time, Edge seemed more resigned to the affair to begin with since the scuffle's unfolding last week~ Ikaru, too, saw the end of the night stabbing Aya, remarking that he didn't even want her respect. Sounds like someone's burned out! Or... maybe Aya just isn't worth it after all~?

However, not all of the leaders are void of sympathy- quite the opposite, Noel was mercifully spared not once but twice last night by Cardshark, who benevolently retried the match after a severe string of luck against Noel, and Pink, against whom Noel made several crucial, obvious mistakes. Pink allowed him to restart the battle despite the edge- better check your teams, little boy~! Both Pink and Cardshark were among the challengers receiving badges last night.

The end of the night saw a ghost-on-ghost battle, - an impressive close call brought to you by Myles. Myles and his friend Will have in the past come close to clearing the league, but in the end, just couldn't cut it~Although former champion Allan has already charged well into the new league, Myles and Connor, another of their friends and former challengers, are just now returning. But they got off to a rocky start last night, both being defeated.

I'd stay and chat longer, but Luna's mother is taking us to the theatre tonight! Girls night out, no stupid bug boys, because they have to stay in for the league, ahaha~

XOXO
Gossip Gardevoir~
13. Actually, I have every idea~ There's a neat little list at a location that I'll do you the favor of not linking too that tells me allllllll about it~

Last night, out of a total of 17 battles fought, only 7 challengers earned badges. Now that's more like it!

Oh, but I'm afraid, I may have cursed the ace, Swimming95, in that respect- He had his first loss against Hardy! But it was still a remarkable battle~
Meanwhile Swimming's rival, Cardshark, managed his next badge- but not any easier than Swimming was defeated. His last Pokemon weak and attacked, a mere 1% HP saved Cardshark from defeat!
Shade had a few such close calls last night, including his match with former champion N8, that came down to the wire on a hit-or miss attack! Has someone lost their touch~?

Most notably however, last night saw the debut of Samson! ...He's considerably less meat-headed than I expected from a circus strongman... Maybe because his Pokemon do all the work? Eeeeh, it's the (inferior~) fighting type, whatcha gonna do?
But Samson put on a good show for opening day nonetheless- 7 of last challenges were aimed at him, and only 2 of those walked away with a badge! Congrats for a first day win, Allan and Inuki~
Though it wasn't so smooth for Inuki, who actually lost to Samson the first time, beating him with a retry token. He wasn't the only one to do this either- Hark followed his strategy, after an impeccably close first round match, in which when Hark was up 3-1, Samson's last pokemon down to 4% health, he still managed a win! Hark charged in with a retry token moments after Inuki, but unfortunately, had no such luck the second match~

On the note of Retry-tokens, it seems Mczipo started a trend in his mass-purchase of the fail-safes. Once again, the challengers bought them out last night. Pink even scrambled together the $R to buy one for his close match with Sigmund, only to find that they were out of stock! What to do, what to do...
Edge also re-challenged his favorite, Dr. Connal last night, and while close, had no more luck than he did with Aya. Shame what impulse decisions for a girl do, isn't it~?

Stay tuned!

14. At last! We're back! I'm back! With actual numbers and things to talk about rather than auth to bash on! I mean, as warranted as it may be, it gets old after a while...

So last night! Out of 13 total challengers, an impressive 9 of them were victorious! Is the new wave of challengers just a new standard of pro, or are the leaders themselves slipping...?
A few points lead me to say- it's the leaders.

EXHIBIT A, your honors:
Owen vs Bennet, Round 17
17! Yes, you read that right! Owen has been walled by Bennet for all of 16 previous battles- a losing streat that nearly began to rival even the infamous Will's! But last night, by some miracle, he did it! It looked close after Heracross dodged Ninetales' Heat Wave, letting Armaldo KO the fox in return- but with the sun up and Chlorophyll ago, no Yanmega to be seen, Owen finally squashed the Bug Leader!

EXHIBIT B:
Swimming95.
Really, must I say any more? Swimming has bursted into the league intending to kick ass and chew bubble gum, but with no bubble gum to begin with, he is so far completely undefeated. Swimming goees for his 7th badge today, quoted saying that five badges in his first week wasn't good enough! Slow down there cowboy, we have to pick up the bodies~
Swimming recognises the new challenge Cardshark as his competition, but Cardshark has already fallen behind, though also undefeated, simply for missing out on Leaders on their off-days. Tsk, tsk.
However, will Swimming be able to keep his momentum? No challenger has ever gone undefeated in the league so far, but maybe there's a first for anything.

((personally I'm hoping he teaches that new psychic whore a lesson~))

EXHIBIT C:
Laura.
Poor girl, ranked number one for a reason I guess, only managed to win a single one of her battles yesterday. No wonder she's so sheepish! Or maybe she's just spent one too many shocking evenings with the good Doctor...

But, that didn't stop her from playing a role in last nights dramaaaa~

We're all familiar with stories like Beauty and the Beast- an otherwise sensible girl befriends a large ugly growling demon- Well here on Reborn apparently we liked to the gender-reversed version of that: The Stubborn Boy and the Bitch.
Anyone sticking around from last season should remember the endless amount of fun we had with constant Ikaru vs Titania- naturally, before she eloped with Amy, much to everyone's shock.
Well:
ROUND 2, FAITO.
Eternal Edge vs this season's famous bitch, Aya!

Now some of you may criticise me for calling her a bitch, but I must remind you, I began on her side! When I first saw her on, I did my best to talk her up, and you know how she repaid me? In spite! I think that qualifies as bitchery, don't you?

Yet it seems somehow, she's attracted a few admirers- firstly in the ever-random Phoenix, secondly in Eternal Edge ... Ikaru, what is wrong with your friends? Oh, I guess they get it from you... ... And thirdly in the new member, Pink Cheetah... Leopard.. He can't decide what kind of cat he wants to be but he is quite sure that whatever kind it is, it's Pink.

However, just like Ikaru, Eternal Edge decided he needed Aya to open up- so last Friday, he made a bet that if he beat her again, she would have to answer his questions, and if she beat him- he would never talk to her again. Unfortunately, since Eternal Edge had already beaten Aya, he had to get former Champion Ikaru to stand in.

Now a little fun fact about Ikaru- the only time he faced Cain, Cain was completely murdered. Naturally, Ikaru was feeling pretty confident about his battle against Aya.
Nope.
Having lost the bet it looked like the honorable Edge would be shunned forever.
Cue today, when Edge announces he's restarting just to challenge Aya, completely violating the terms of his bet!
Edge vs Aya!

Afterwards, as Edge and Aya continued to bicker, the former backed up by Ikaru, with his unedningly stalker-esque database of Titania quotes, Laura, drawing on eery knowledge from Sigmund's guardianship, and a mysterious user who was definitely not Hardy, the latter backed up by Pink alone. Before long, Hardy signed out, remarking once more of the similarities between Aya and his sister- and soon after that, just when it seemed like they might make some headway-
In bursts Ninpen with a trollfaic, says Ikaru is a complete liar, and Aya takes the oppourtunity to extend that to Edge and Laura ("Vines?"), leaving the server.

If there was a Reborn-equivallent of streaking at a football game, that was it.

Shortly after, Laura left too, commenting that even Sigmund was not what he appeared to be.
[s]So it's good to know that he's not a pedophile![/s]

Good luck tonight, Challengers~

15. People don't understand how hard it is to write about things simply from memory, even when you do know everything! Now, if the ones with jobs around here would do them, then mine would be possible! Of course, I'm not one to point any fingers~ ^^

Ikaru.

Ahem. Anyway!~ I've had tons of great ideas for the league! I am this league; it wouldn't exist without me! And what do I get? Mashew trying to replace me with a cheap Roserade! But that's okay, I dealt with her nicely... And I will continue to every time she comes back! I'm the newscaster here, me! And I would just love to do my job if I could, but I can't! So remember guys, what's the number one rule when things go wrong in Reborn?~

16. Time for the real reason anyone sticks around Reborn, the amazing highlights!
Yes, yes, I know they are highly delayed but Amethyst hadn't told me any important news. He has deprived me of my drama and gossip!
This is insane. This is a crime! This is punishable by impeachment! [s] Anyone for a new leader?[/s]

Anyways let's get to the real fun, the drama!

Bennett started this week and I must say congratulations to all the people who won against him his first night! That's what happens when you try kicking me out of MY room~
It seems Bennett is already becoming the favorite in some of the challengers eyes. How could anyone like him over me?! I mean look at him. He's a complete and total nerd. Who could like someone like that over my beauty? It's unheard of!

Aside from Bennett getting revealed [s] and failing completely his first night.[/s] It seems that Eternal Edge has shown some dislike to Laura. I for one do not understand who could have negative feelings towards such a quiet girl. And one with her past! I think someone is just playing the brown-nosing fanboy for that Doctor... Now that on it's own is enough drama for several days of highlights! Hm... That gives me an idea~

Meanwhile, we had a surprise return visit from Elias! He returned to say that although Radomus was in prison, he had still no idea of Luna's whereabouts. The fool! He even tried asking me, but I bet you can tell how well that worked. So once again he turned to the challengers of Reborn, tasking them to find out where Bennett lives, so that he can get Luna from him!
Oh, didn't you know~? Bennett is Luna's brother! ...Well, at least, she think so... But whatever Luna says goes, okay~?

And if anyone is found giving any information to that creepy old Elias, I will personally have you... "removed."

^^

It also seems that one of our older members, Phoenix, has... Announced his love for Aya? How could someone love that horrible girl! She will regret the day she ever crossed my path and did not praise me for my generous advertisement of her! Aside from Phoenix's sudden love, Aya also seems to be gaining a few of the other members interest. Listen to me right now, you few who want to talk to her. She is nothing but toxic~ But that's a story for another highlight.

Before we wrap up the best thing in Reborn I have a present for all of you~

Surprise! Now, I know what you're thinking. You're thinking, "But Gardevoir, my one true love and master for all eternity, you said that all the leader's left! What's HE doing there?!" Ah, ah, ah, now when did I say that Shade left the league exactly? Assumptions can be deadly~ But.. He looks different, doesn't he? Maybe he'll talk more now. ^^

Well, that's it for the highlights for now! But I promise my adoring fans I will return with all the drama that I can drain out of Amethyst, the leaders, and of course, you all~

Good luck with your present~

17. Surprised Amethyst messed up again? Because i'm not!
Speaking of people messing up, some silly admins AREN'T cuing me for highlights! We used to have a system here people, what happened?! So I've gotten nothing! Nothing from the very people who promised that they would get it back on track. Are you surprised? I'm not!

So. Not to leave the people of Reborn uninformed- like our government would- I've gone on my own fact finding mission. It's tragic, really, that it's come to this, but do not believe I am incapable, for I have every juicilicious tidbit that has occurred in the past two weeks.

Unfortunately, that's still not very much because I'm going from 17-20 leaders to work with to 2. Ugh. Pretty soon I'll just start telling you what Luna and I gossip about at night if nothing happens.

But a few things happened. For instance, Amethyst, trying to usurp my paparazzi power has reported that the third leader, Sigmund- YOU HEARD IT FROM ME- is of the Electric Type.
And as we all know Amethyst is liar and a scoundrel!
The ever benevolent Edge is correct not to believe his poison words, as I can confirm that Sigmund's type is not Electric, but, instead, is...

*drumroll*

Electric!

You heard it from me.

Meanwhile in my infamous exploits last week, I've gleamed a new perspective of our Poison Leader Aya- and yes, she is Cain's sister, you've won the $200 dollar question. I have learned much about her, that she is insensitive and ungrateful, and all those other unfortunate words. Even after I took the extra ten minutes before her arrival to build her up, even giving her a monologue to her credit, still did she toss my favor aside in apathy! How callous! How cold! How could she?
Take it from me honey, you're never going to make it to the top like that.
And you don't want me as an enemy.
I know where you sleep at night.
Room at the back of the den. From the front door, turn left, door on the right leads downstairs into the den, then head straight back past the stairs, past the bathroom on the right. Your room is the one with the shutter-door. Tan carpet. Bed's in the back corner. Kind of quaint, kind of classless. Especially with the stuffed animals. Don't mess with me.
It's okay though, Aya, I understand people are shy! Don't worry, I'll give you a second chance!

Then to follow on Monday, as Amethyst finished his battle against Laura, the poor girl became quit upset. At what, you ask? At his choice of leader in Sigmund. It seems that the two knew each other from before, and Laura would not forgive Ame for reintroducing to her the man who ruined her life. Tsk, tsk. I mean, I knew Ame had some less than savvy leader choices- particularly this season's Psychic type- but this seems too much! Laura was basically crying by the end of it! How cruel...

On the challenger side, it seems our former moderator, Manowar, or Vandaeron is ready to let some fists fly and deal with our new Leader the hard way on Laura's behalf. Personally, I think he has a thing for her~ Go get 'er! You can be the new knight in shining armor!

See you later, loves~

18. Today's the big day! Are you ready [s]to fail[/s]?

Well, allow me to introduce you to [s]your superiors[/s] [s]my minions[/s] the new leaders, Laura and Aya!

Great display of confidence for the opening on the leaders' part... Way to go, guys...
[s]run 'em over, challengers. target practice to get ready for the psychic bitch who replaced me[/s] I LOVE OUR LEADERS, ALL OF THEM.

19. Well~ Since you all fail at even finishing hangman, no leader name for you! You'll have to wait~ Well, unless you're clever...

Buuuuut, you can have this in the mean time~

20. ...Or they would be if the league was running yet. So in the mean time~

I get to tell you all random little things! ^^ Rumours and gossips, whisperings and all that
Because all rumours are totally true~

For instance, it's true that, true to the old ranks, though many have changed, the first leaders you'll be meeting come Monday will be Grass and Poison types!

I could even tell you a name or two... Oh, but should I? I wonder...
