Ok so lets talk about one i mentioned in my last review block [u][i][b]School rumble[/b][/i][/u] [img]http://www.the-anime-zone.com/wp-content/uploads/category-images-ii/81.original.jpg[/img] So i talked about this one back in the azumanga Review and in my top list three its kinda in this eternal struggle between lucky star for number 1. And the reason is that its this beautiful mix of a slice of life anime, and a nonsense anime, in that its showing the day to day life of the charaters in a realistic way, but then there are also teribbly unrealistic elements. Before i get into detail with that let me talk about some of the characters, Your main character is Tenma, The girl with the two little thin side pigtails, and she is in love with Kurasama, The kid with the bowl cut, However Harima, The black guy with the shades, is in love with Tenma, and hilarity ensues as Tenma and Harima try to get the person they love to notice them (The fact that both Harima and Tenma Are dumber then dirt doesn't help either). So now we come to the meat of the series being the overall insanity that comes with the whole premise, Harima in particular will go to any length to get Tenma to notice him, Even going so far as to stand on a plank on top of a skyscraper dressed like a peacock .-., As the Show evolves even more crazy love triangles are created, and the show is an absolute blast to watch, most of the nonsense comes from Harima's Character as Tenma's efforts to get the Affection of Kurasama are a little more believeable, like cooking him lunch everyday, or writing him a love letter. Each episode usually involve three stories based around a central idea, like on the epsiode where the go to the beach, one part is the trip over, the next is Harima being discovered naked in the room by one of the girls, and the last is teaching all the girls how to swim. Honestly i cant really see a reason not to check this anime out unless you just arent in to comedy at all. Like honestly people that is your ONLY EXCUSE! GO CHECK THIS ONE OUT!!! It is the life of 4 girls. You Have Konta-Chan: Who is a huge Otaku. Like seriously she could put most of us to shame. Kagami-Chan: Who is kinda the straight man of the group. Tsukasa-Chan: Kagami's Twin sister, More airheaded then her sister. And Miyuki-Chan: The smart-Moe one. So what makes the series great is well.... I can't really explain, theres just something so entertaining about listening and watching these girl's stories. Like literally the first major chunk of the first episode is talking about the ways that the characters eat certain foods. Dont believe me? Hypnotizing. the show doesnt get much more intense then that with the exception of the moments with Anime Tenchou (which im not gonna spoil, you gotta watch those cause they are 100% hilarious) In the end theres not much i can talk about with out talking about random conversations they have (Quick warning to all you guys who wanna check it out, there is gonna be one awkward part where they dont really identifywhat they are talking about but its obviously menstration .-.) Ok first question, When is The persona 4 anime finally gonna come out? (starting with some non-troll to evolve into troll)

Ok, now that some people have gone i figure its time for some more reviews. First, one of my favorite animes Ever, Im talking about the great mystery classic Detective Conan, Case closed. [img]http://www.rankopedia.com/CandidatePix/48055.gif[/img] Most people have heard about this one sure but i never miss out on an opportunity to advocate for this classic. The story revolves around Ace Detective Jimmy Kudo, who after witnessing some shady deals by some characters in black clothing, is knocked out and fed an experimental poison, that instead of killing him reverts his body to that of a 7 year old. He adopts the Pseudonym Conan Edogawa, and takes up residence in the home of his best Friend Rachel Moore, daughter of failed detective Richard Moore. There he uses his powers of deduction to solve all of the cases that Richard receives in secret as he searches for the men in black to try to return his body to normal. The show and Manga have been going on since 96 and 94 respectively. And at this point holds the record for the 6th longest anime in existence. Each episode while not having a deep story line usually has an interesting way in which the killer or whatever executed the crime. The stories unfortunately become more and more predictable as time goes on but, we are normally saved by the best parts of the series being the multi-part episodes. Each multi-part episode is always engaging and genuinely thought provoking and really pulls you in to the detective atmosphere. Id recommend either the manga or the anime as either of them are worth your time provided it will probably the longest time investment of your anime life if you decide to check out the entire thing. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Next we have Azumanga Daioh [img]http://images.wikia.com/azumanga/images/1/11/Azumanga_Daioh_Wikia_Picture.jpg[/img] One of the best slice of life Animes i have ever seen Azumanga follows the day to day life of six girls and the wacky adventures the get into. There isn't much to really say because of the fact that it is a slice of life anime and therefore follows a plot-line that doesn't exist, but let me say this for it, Azumanga is in my top three slice of life anime list(the other two being school rumble and Lucky Star), but also having said that it is also number three, And its one of those things where i cant exactly explain why. It's kinda like the road where lucky star and school rumble meet. School rumble was great because it is so over the top and outrageous that it just immediatly draws you in with its abstractness, and lucky star is so "Real" that it makes relating to the show alot easier. Azumanga is just a little of both, It has realer situations then SR, but there so strangley executed sometimes due to some characters such as Osaka or Mr. Kimura. Really its one to check out if you: -Like slice of life. -Liked either school rumble or lucky star. -didn't like lucky star for being to "Real" or didn't like school rumble for being to silly. -or just wanna check out an anime that while not the best around of its kind is defiantly still a fantastic anime ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ And now to end with a manga. So today i will talk about [u][i][b]Battle Royale[/b][/i][/u] The king of psychological Horror manga [img]http://openbooksociety.com/wp-content/uploads/HLIC/7e0c7ebdd5bee292b7040949d10cfa4a.jpg[/img] Battle Royale tells the story of a class of Japanese 9th graders taken to a remote island where they are told to kill one another until only one of them remains. What comes next is some of the most grisly horror i have ever witnessed in any medium. What makes Battle Royale so great is the sheer psychology behind it, each character has ther own motivation for why they choose to participate or not and the degree in which they do. some characters dont want anything to do with it, others choose survival, others are nothing but purely psychotic, and the Main antagonist of the series, decides whether or not he will participate with nothing but a coin flip. The main character is Shuya Nakahara, and he spends most of the series surviving for no reason but to keep the girl that both him and his best friend had a crush on. And his evolution in the series is on of the greatest in mangas of recent years. The series started as a book, then evolved into a manga then finally went to bed as a two movies. (the second one having a story that is not in the book or manga) and out of all of these id have to recommned the manga first, because of the level of artistic detail in each gruesomely horrific death. After that id recommend the book and finally the movie. In the end if you love Psycholgical horror, Sickening violence, or just damn, damn, good storytelling. check this manga out for sure.

Since my last post's got merged idk whether to make this separate but F it they'll fix it if it really needs to, so next I'm going to talk about the series that got me into manga and anime to begin with! Presenting the one and only the Classic amoung classics! [u][b][i]RANMA 1/2!:[/i][/b][/u] [img]http://www.animemiami.com/ranma1.jpg[/img] Now before i continue let me make it clear i am advocating for the Manga, not the anime, since he Manga is leaps and bounds superior. Now im actually really surprised how many people haven't heard of this one considering it is by "The master of the Female form" Rumiko Takahashi, the creator of the very popular [i][b]Inuyasha[/b][/i] Now you guys heared me mention Ranma a little in my mermaid review but let me give you the quick lowdown. Ranma Saotome, the kid with the black hair and ponytail, has been arranged to marry, Akane Tendo, the young girl next to him, so that they can both Carry on the Martial arts school of the "Anything Goes" Fighting technique. But the couple have problems coming right out the gate as neither one of them can stand the other, and the tiny fact that any time Ranma is splashed with cold water his body transforms into a redheaded young woman! The rest of the series follows the developing relationship between Ranma, Akane, and the 50 or so characters that that they encounter from episode to episode, as well as Ranma's continued efforts to remove his Curse. Now what always made this series for me is the overwhelming cast of support characters each with their own very, very distinct personality, be it Ranma's persistant rival Ryoga, who was born with the worlds worst sense of direction, Happosai, the lecherous old Kung Fu master, who was also the teacher of both Ranma's, and Akane's fathers. Moose, the legally blind master of trap based Kung-Fu, or the school principal, who returns from Hawaii bent on shaving the head of every student in his school. That and it is probaby the longest series i have ever read given that there are 36 whole volumes. In the end, if your a fan of comedy of any kind, Ranma is a must go for all manga enthusiasts. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Ok so next up i'm going to refer to some little known gems that were introduced to me by my schools anime club, so lets start with [u][i][b]Nerima Daikon Brother's[/b][/i][/u] [img]http://farm1.static.flickr.com/216/515050761_6362f3cb35_z.jpg[/img] Its a short 12 episode anime, and is funny as all sin. So the story follows Singing group Nerima Daikon Brothers, which consists of Hideki(Middle), Ichiro(Right), and Mako(Left), as they try to obtain enough money to build a stadium and become rock superstars. Now it should be immidiatly stated that this is a musical folks, each episode contains a minimum six songs, but while each song is not unique, each song is always entertaining and becomes inherently catchy by episode 3, the show is also a prime example of Nonsense anime as very little seems to make sense but all kinda works, like how in episode 2 Hideki and Ichiro are being boiled and turned into kimchi, but Pandaikon (the panda) comes to rescue them and unintentionally arouses Ichiro, causing them to absorb the Kimchi which "Gives them the powers of a god". THe next anime is called: [u][i][b]Now and Then, Here and There[/b][/i][/u] And is by far the most dramatic Animes i have ever seen, [img]http://www.hitokiri.com/blog/archives/images/anime/Now_and_Then_Here_and_There.png[/img] The story Follows Shu, A young boy who returns from his Kendo Practice and failed attempt to ask a girl out to find a young girl sitting atop a large piece of construction, he joins her and the two stare into the sunset. All in all a pretty normal, light hearted opening, But soon Shu is transported to Thousands of years into the future where water is a scarce commodity, and the end of the world, has pretty much already happened. I honestly don't to talk to much for fear of taking away some of the Impact that this show creates, but lets just say that the show deals heavily in the such subjects as War, Child soldiers, Rape, and the depths of which a person can fall into madness. The show is absolutely heart wrenching, and invokes some of the most serious thought that i have ever seen an anime produce. I know i talk about alot of comedies on this thread, and many people dont do comedies, but if you in anyway like Drama, then Now and then Here and there, will in no way shape or form disappoint you, as it is one of the finest examples of How far the Human spirit will go to survive, or to hold onto its beliefs. SAYA COULD NOT WATCH THIS ANIME!

For those of you who haven't seen Kenichi, please listen to Dominus and go check it out, it really is an awesome anime series, and its one that i kinda watch now to get me out of a funk because it's really kinda inspiring, and even more entertaining, you owe it to yourself to see it.

Oh my where to begin, so i'd like to talk about a little anime Called: [b]Seto no Hanayome or My bride is a Mermaid[/b] [img]http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/2421/phpno3n98am.jpg[/img] Now don't let the title fool you, because a lot of people will hear the title and immediately dismiss it as a very dirty anime for some reason, and while it has its share of less then wholesome moments that is not the main draw of the show. The main draw of the show is that it is the lovely blend of nonsense, strange characters, and genuinely touching moments that turn this into the greatest romantic comedy i have ever watched since ranma 1/2. The main character Nagasumi, is vacationing with his parents by the sea, when Nagasumi gets pulled in ot he ocean and begins to drown. He is then rescued by a mermaid named Sun Seto and is later informed by Sun's family, (Who are Mermaid Yakuza) that one of them will have to die to keep the secret of mermaid existence safe. But Sun's mother devises the solution that if the two were to get married that no one would have to die since the secret would stay within the family. And so hilarity ensues. I have a little thing that I've actually been saying to people when i describe this anime so lets say it here to, Ah hem. If you like, Mermaids, Pop stars, monkeys, astronauts, Giant monster battles, Real manly men, Suave black teachers, Amazonian lesbians, Street fighter, or just any damn good comedy series, then there is absolutely no reason to check this anime out. Ok so remember how in My bride is a mermaid i said the show wasn't nearly as dirty as the title made it sound. well this one is like the poler opposite, while one again it is not the main crux of the show, its like the number two thing that this anime does. and as pervy as this may sound, god damn does it do it right! So Sekirei tells the story of, Minato Sahashi, a young man with no job and the status of Ronin (meaning he has failed his college entrance exams, who one day stumbles upon a young girl Named Musubi being attacked by two twins who can control lightening, he brings her home and she explains that she is a Sekirei (think test tube alien) And she is looking for the person who will be her Ashikabi (Think her owner), She pretty much figures its him (in a process i will explain shortly) and becomes his sekirei, and he is thrust into the Sekirei plan, (think full on last man standing Battle Royale) Ok, so what makes this little anime great is that it is by far, on of the funniest, must perverted action series i have seen in a long time. I was literally laughing out loud on every episode and was so entertained i had no choice but to finish the entire first season in one sitting. But Taro you may ask, Is the show really that perverted? And to you i say yes it is, let me give a prime example. So each Sekirei roams free until she/he finds her Ashikabi, and they can tell who they are drawn to the most by a sensation that is pretty much orgasm. And in order to "wing" a sekirei, the person has to kiss them, lets combine that with the fact that this anime only goes like one episode in the first season with out showing full on uncensored chesticles, the fact that all the main characters sekireis (he gets 6 in total) all want to bang him (except for the male one), and im serios about that, they all want to bang him. The one unfortunate part is that despite being an "Action" series the anime doesnt really get very action heavy until the second season, which as of now is still only in subtitles. But all in all Sekirei combines hilarious anime antics and a plot that while not super interesting or engaging (at least in the first season) keeps you wanting to go through it and you have a really funny anime that any fan of large breasts and comedy can enjoy. Yoroi (Omastar): One of my "Deadly Duo" Yoroi, is the insane one of the group, he makes it clear that his position is not one of safty but one of pure unrelenting dominance, when i first met him and told him i was constructing a team i asked what he could do and he laughed in my face and said, "If your getting fucked by a sweeper, then you give me the word and ill pump so much water ice and fire in there ass hole, you'll be able to use them as a kettle when your done with them." He seemed confident enough but i knew he wasn't messing around when my entire team gets sweeped by a scarfed Garchomp, and he was my last option, the score was 5-1 when Yoroi cracked his shell open and absorbed the garchomp's earthquake, he tossed his focus sash aside and said your fucked now, he then went on to win the entire fight with only one hp backing him up. Ever since then he's always been able to give the enemy a run for their money, even going so far as to sweep heathers entire team. Yeah, He's a crazy Mother Fucker, and that's what makes him so special. Fort (Golurk): Fort on the other hand is the balancing element to Yoroi's insanity. He is calm, collected and approaches everything with Zen like concentration. When I first met Fort he was under siege by a Hydragion but Fort seemed to have a trance like resolve about him almost like he was meditating, the enemy came down hard on him, and it was clear that he was in pain but he stood strong, Fort lifted his fist and plunged it forward despite being Yards away from the Hydragion, we all though he was crazy, like what was he doing, then it happened, the air shifted and the sheer Dynamicness of his punch was enough to render the Hydragion unconscious. I knew then that he had to be a part of my team. He told me that as long as i respected every opponent that fell under him then he would join me, and so I have done so ever since. I asked him afterward why he didnt actually punch the Hydragion, and he told me that his fists were to dangerous to be used on the living. which is why he swore that he would only use his fists on ghosts like himself.

There are many more exclusive pokemon that i know will effect peoples decisions, especially those who have already experienced the new pokemon. For instance i know Mr. Taro is going to purchase Black version due to the fact that Whimsicott, and murkrow are exclusive to it, and that Miss Saya is purchasing white due to Ghastly's and Doridia's exclusivity. That being said the pokemon in the white forest are exclusive only to white unless you are connected with a friends, so there is no other way to receive a Ghastly, Machop, or chansey without the white forest or without trading, and since those are very popular options with trainers, it will have a large impact on the decision they will be making very soon, seeing that the game comes out in only a day.

Yes but any of these additional rules are strictly for the purpose of making the challange even more challenging but they would be ones that you enforce on yourself. it seems the most common or the ones that make it a true Nuzlocke challenge are the first two. as i must agree with Mr. Knight, that unless you grew leppa berries like no other it would be very nigh impossible. I also found Amethysts rule on the HM. pokemon rather strange since it could cause you to be permanently stuck with no way to continue.

from what i have gathered the second rule is to emphasize stronger bonds with a Pokemon. the lingering fear of knowing that a pokemon may disappear with no chance of being replaced will make it so that you do not get sloppy and think "its ok i can just go catch another one" as Mr. Ikaru also stated. So the second rule is to keep you restrained within certain limits that also makes it so that you do not have 4 boxes full of Pokemon that can be replacements or replaced themselves.

While galavanting across the internet i came across a set of rules that i had never heard of before, Nuzlocke rules. Nuzlocke Rules are a set of self enforced rules while playing a Pokemon game to simulate the experience in a really, more intense light. The two basic rules are as follows: 1. All Pokemon that faint are considered dead, and must be either released or permanently boxed. 2. A trainer may only catch the first Pokemon that he encounters in an area when entering the first time, if the Pokemon faints or you have no poke-balls left you may not attempt to capture another Pokemon in that area again. I was wondering had anyone heard of these rules before, or tried the practice themselves, and if so what was your experience like? I ask because i figure with the new release of black and white it might be a good opportunity to give this a shot in an unknown environment, especially since i wouldn't have any major data to lose if i found the experience wasn't for me. So, what are your thoughts, members of reborn?

Allegedly Black City will be populated by a changing number of trainers to be battled as well as items to be collected. While the White Forest has a variety of Pokemon to be caught and raised. However, we must all remember the vast advances that Pokemon is making with its technology, and thanks to connectivity it is supposed to be possible to connect to a friends White forest or Black City, where you may partake in its own trainer and item or Pokemon-y glory. I also must agree with Mr. Amethyst in that The fine folks at nintendo or game freaks would not simply make a version any better or worse than the other. in the end you should still choose based on preference of Pokemon, whether or not you want to deal with rotation or triple battles, or do as Mr. Taro did with Ruby and Sapphire flip a coin, if you're determined enough, being stuck in the black city will not stop you from making the most of your Pokemon experience or catching and raising as many or as a few as your hearts desire.

Who in my mind is an under rated Gem. Cosmic power is a scary move since it is the only move other then stockpile or one of the variations of ancient power that raise both defenses. Use Psycho Shift to weaken your opponents physical moves and Cosmic Power your way to Impenetrable status and use the combination burn and assist power to decimate foes. There are however a few flaws with this however. i found most critical strikes would fell me in one blow and taunting is also a nuisance especially from Sableye but not so much so from Whimsicott. However if my calculations are correct there is however a single pokemon family who you can do absolutely nothing against if you encounter him with this build, that family being the Houndoom family. There type combination negates both the assist power and the burn, so be forewarned. Other wise this makes a fantastic wall and a nice defense against fighting pokemon.

[indent]Greetings Reborn, as per our last encounter it is time for me and mr. Amethyststorm to tango, with my slightly more scientifically analyzed version.[/indent] [indent]First I touch of backstory. The story of Aladdin is known most for its inclusion into the stories from 1001 Nights or The Arabian Nights but the story was not in the original printing of the collection due to it having no actual aribic history, the story's roots are actually traced down to being chinese and was added to the collection along with many of the other more popular stories when it was translated by europeans. Many differences are made from the story as well, such as the exclusion of elements such as Aladdin's mother, Jafar's (who is a simple sorcerer in the original) brother, and a magic ring that houses another less powerful genie to the one in the lamp. The Magic carpet was an element adapted from a different arabian night story altogether. [/indent] [indent]Now for a touch of backstory on Aladdin the movie, now before i start let me go on a tangent and talk about a film known as the [i]The Thief and the Cobbler[/i] a film Somewhat created be animator Richard Williams, who is famous for his animation in the film [i]Who Framed Roger Rabbit?[/i] [i]The Thief and the Cobbler[/i] began production in 1964 but was not released until 1992, Due to its release date being set after Aladdin it is a popular belief that the film was created to suckle at the teat of Aladdin's success, But among avid film enthusiasts such as myself it is more popularly believed that both films drew influence from each other in a moment of film interbreeding as both films contain elements such as a protagonist who's worth is not yet known, a short pudgy king being lead about by an evil advisor who wants to control the kingdom either by marrying the princess or through violence, and a princess who would rather marry for love then for simply being married. The film was a major flop due to never actually being finished by creator Richard Williams himself and due to this there are actually four versions of the film, most of them considered to be horrible. Upon its release the film opened in the number two spot behind Macaulay Culkin in [i]Home Alone 2:Lost in New York[/i] but after several weeks rose to number 1 and became the highest grossing animated film of all time until it was beaten be the Lion King, however the film caused disney to have a major fall out with Robin Williams which is the reason he appears in neither of the original releases of the sequels. And now to choose a few points to make fact checks and criticism along side Nicholas' Let us begin with: "And a guy is just casually sleeping on a bed of nails? Wait, what? Not only does he look to be in peace, lying in the middle of the street over a BOARD FULL OF SPIKES, but he's bloody smiling at it. ...Massochist? Disney... *shakes head* ...And another guy is just casually dancing on coal. I think we have some misplaced stereotypes about... whateverculture... what culture IS this anyway?" Let us start with setting the film takes place in a magical world that is a mix between india and the middle east, simple enough. now for the bed of nails. The bed of nails was first used as a instrument in reaching enhanced levels of meditation and many factors are used to determine what will happen when a person rests on a bed of nails, including how many nails are on the bed, how the are distributed, how the person is sitting or laying on the bed, if the person is moving, and the persons weight. It is also normally used as a parlor trick and if done by a professional will yield no pain on the actual individual... however after viewing the scene in question multiple times i have come to the conclusion hat that man should be in a lot of pain and it is not even his fault it is the animators. as we can view in this screen shot the man is not on the bed of nails but more [b]IN[/b] the bed of nails[/indent] [indent][attachment=141:phpJVxuMKPM.jpg][/indent] [indent]As for the fire walker the one present showed perfect form in how te execute such a feat, as the trick in fire walking is to walk along the top of the coals or fire which have burnt out into ash, walking slowly prevents the coals from turning to the side that is hot and burning the feet which is why the guards suffered from roasted feet. On a side not it was elements like these that drove such Pro muslim and pro indian groups to deem the film racist but i digress[/indent] [indent]For the next point " THIS IS EXACTLY CINDERELLA, JUST GENDERSWAPPED. Aladdin is officially the princess here. Jasmine is prince charming (she does wear the pants after all, and after the genie's transformation, Aladdin just has some weird gown thing. it all makes sense.)" I appreciate Nicholas bringing this point up as i had not mentioned this earlier, With the exception of Disney's 1973 film Robin Hood, this was the first Disney picture to have a male lead as well as a large section of the plot devoted to a love story. Therefore it is clear to see that Aladdin suffers from many of stereotypes in the disney princess archetype, Wanting more, living in an environment that stifles your true worth to society, Magical assistance, falling in love with/marrying into royalty. This is because as mentioned Disney had not yet wrestled with both a Male lead as well as a major love plot point and had very little room to work around. Some have also blamed this feature on the disney renaissance a time where disney films were becoming both more complex and simplified and a time where the disney princess archetype was created. So that is my analysis of Nicholas' as well as Aladdin in general, and while i understand this may go unread except by one or two individuals i appreciate Nicholas' continued effort to entertain reborn. I would take of my hat to you but sadly that is not an option.
