    Should I play Dark Souls 1 and 2 before bothering with 3? From what I understand the story isn't really that connected so idk

      1 is closer to 3. DS 2 gameplay will confuse you for 3.

      I'd say play at least DS 1. Whether you also want to play 2, that's on you.
