  1. Connor has been defeated! I couldn't quite pull it off with my main team but I kept a few for the battle. Lombre, Poliwag, Bibarel, Surskit, Rockruff and Braixen won it for me. Basically used Rockruff to take out his Vulpix and almost his Torracat, then ran amok with poliwag to take down his cat and set up water sport and rain dance. Swapped into Surskit on his Pignite which wiped out that and Magby with a 1HKO of Bubblebeam, unfortunately his Fletchinder was able to catch up by taking out my Surskit, poliwag after I set up Rain dance again and Lombre. But I was able to use Braixen and Bibarel to get his Fletchinder then Growlithe. Current main team leaving the town. Spike/Steadfast Anya/Magician Batty/Infiltrator Tiny Dancer/Swift swim -Will swap out once I can. Yoh/Swift Swim Karren/Dry Skin
  2. Planning to use a Rain Dance team for the majority of the game if possible. Current idea posted below. Rockruff/Steadfast -Planning to use him as coverage and physical bruiser/pivot once Rockruff evolves preferrably into his midnight form, not to mention if there is early Z-move access I can destroy terrain effects on demand. Noivern/Infiltrator -Dragon coverage and Wall breaker, not to mention hurricane+rain dance synergy makes this an easy pick imo. Fire Starter? -Probably the hardest slot for me to fill at the moment with my limited knowledge. I know Charmander would make easy work of most non-fairy mons early game with dragon rage but I would assume there's a lot of cons to choosing everyone's favorite Gen 1 starter in this game as with most hacks I've played. The bulk of tepig's forms have me leaning that way for a temporary wall but nothing really seems to synergize with rain dance for the fire starters (go figure right? ) Ludicolo/Swift Swim -Swift Swimmer and sweeper should be able to do well with most casual threats. Gengar/Levitate -Thinking about having it be my "bizarre" Rain dancer, paired with thunder, hex and toxic was thinking it would work well for a few areas that might not normally have this set up in mind. Croagunk/Dry Skin -Standard set-up sweeper imo, but we'll see since it already has some cool moves thanks to the devs.
  3. Update, after some grinding and getting back to the pokemon lab I've taken a break to update everyone. Still working on catching a noibat with infiltrator but otherwise I caught most of my aforementioned team. A shiny Vivilon found it's way into my save so I'm wanting to keep it on my team alongside the shiny (not rain dish but swift swimmer) Lotad. Most of my team is lvl 18 already but I haven't decided on my proper starter pick. I found some synergy with making a rain team as follows below so we'll see. I've also grabbed all the event mons in the area so far although for whatever reason the bidoofs don't wanna cooperate despite knowing the solution. Rain Team Concept As usual feel free to give feedback on the team or my progress so far, Tengri has a lot of growing to do in this region but I'm looking forward to the journey.
  4. Sorry for the long ranty reply I know I'm late but as someone who fell for this game before the shipwreck I'd feel cowardly for not replying on both the part of the Devs and the OP. My Experience As a new player I did expect him to be a pain after playing reborn and reju but even I couldn't beat him with my original team comp. I had Wartortle, Zigzagoon, pidgeotto, vivillion, numel and Venipede. I start with Numel to wipe out vulpix so I don't have to worry about drought more than once, usually I can get lucky and OHKO his next choice torracat but it usually outspeeds me and somehow takes over half my HP due to the boosted fire terrain despite Numel being fire/ground. Given the level cap I can't do much else but find a way to heal it which usually means sacrificing zigzagoon to his pignite which is now set up to outspeed most of my mons. I tend to end the fire field with gust on one of my two flyers and try to use viv for it since Pidgeotto is my plan to get rid of his fletch's gale wings later but I can't get past his growlithe no matter how I go about it after managing to wittle away his pignite. Wartortle can't out damage his morning sun even at night time when it heals less and nothing else besides my numel can seem to down it but doing so has basically ended in a trade each time since I already used my super potions and it feels dumb to "waste" a hyper on the first gym. Not to mention it's magby outspeeds my whole team from my experience. I tried to gamble with Venipede's rollout but he got revenge killed each time, pidgeotto seemingly can't kill ANY of his pokemon except pignite with Gust despite having a good EV/IV set-up considering this part of the game. My Opinion Am I saying that it's BS, no but I am saying that I don't think it's as easy as "lol get a water type bro" as some are suggesting. Mudkip would probably be the "best" starter pick for this gym but honestly I doubt that would cut it without proper counter set-up of rain dance AND water sport which will likely be martyr pokemon given the level cap at this point of the game. If you need to go that hard on the first gym it seems like a bad curve imo. Going to start a new save for now with the beach starter I was originally going to use and see how that goes but long story short, I don't think the curve for the first gym in any game regardless of the difficulty you're trying to sell should require specific move sets to win. Not because it's impossible but because it feels gross personally to have to team swap at each gym just so I can continue. For my two cents, as much as I've loved Reborn, Reju and especially Desolation I think it would be more enjoyable with either early access to terrain swap moves to counter gyms "fairly" or allow you to play a-la Ash and skip gyms until you actually have a team comp able to go against it. I liked the idea of level capping originally and I definitely prefer being able to "lose control" of my pokemon for a few levels to evolve it or teach it a necessary move before candying it back down but the way it's been implemented with essentially Smogon level Monoteams against players with Vanilla moves it just feels a bridge too far sometimes and Connor is one of those times. Julia was honestly a cakewalk with various options, Venam was somewhere in the middle but Connor just feels like a STAB Sucker Punch to my poor Ghastly soul. Thanks for your time and if devs read this late reply to an old thread I appreciate your time and work and I saw some reworks might be headed for early game that would affect this so obviously take this with a large pinch of salt. I love your game and I will persevere like the Dark Souls player I have become.
  5. Hello everyone, so I found the Reborn and Reju titles earlier last month and while I haven't completed them (they're huge and definitely a difficulty spike even for someone like myself who has done a few nuzlockes) I found this game yesterday and it has something to it that I can't seem to turn away from. So while I haven't gotten very far on my first playthrough (Conner is a jerk if you aren't prepped for that set-up), I will be making a new team and posting here as a sort of progress log/journal. Hopefully this will be entertaining for you guys as well and please continue to hide spoilers until I've posted that I went past that area and missed it lol. I don't freak out over them anymore but it's more fun to find things organically especially when devs are doing such a great job with the personal touches. I haven't gotten the Helix Cave to open it's secrets to me for instance, (even though I translated the "plates" instantly when I saw the first one thanks to a bit of obsession over languages) so that is a sort of example of how I go through things and hopefully it all makes sense. As stated I haven't ruined anything for myself as of yet and this is technically my first post and Poke-Community I've joined so hopefully I haven't put my foot in my mouth already. Thanks everyone for your time and feel free to post potential team ideas until I make another update post. For a little preview of what I "plan" on doing now that I have some idea of what to expect in the first hurdle of the game I hid it below.
