How do you get the key for it or whatever, ive went to the right to the conveyor belts but its a dead end, what am i missing?

In the lab, where there's also the guy with the Liligant, there is a dark part between the two sections of the lab. 

In the dark part is a hidden pathway to the right, where you should be able to continue. 

 

 

From here a bit further up to the right :)
