legendary battles question

Just started doing the legendary quests however even though the birds were in the overworld without the battle the dogs have it. Is there a way to save after the battle or get the encounter again? I am shiny hunting them and having to do the entire battle again is pretty exhausting. Thanks in advance!

Right after the battle you can quick save as a little exploit. Most legendaries do a little animation giving you a couple seconds window to be able to save and reload for shiny hunting.

Putting this in spoilers just in case:

Most of the legendries have you battle a team before you catch them so you can't easily reset unless you quick save after the battle.

 

For shiny hunting, I recommend getting glitter balls. They make the pokemon shiny and can be bought using BP in the nightclub. I've managed to get every legend so far with them and have only had to reset for a few.

Wow that's nice! Didn't know they actually turned them shiny that's crazy.
