3D battle sprites

Hello,

i was wondering if anyone would happen to know a way to add 3d battle sprites. Ive searched the forum and did a quick google search no avail. Any help would be much appreciated!

Well, basically, what you have to do is to replace the existing sprites by the ones you want.

That means :

1) get the 3d sprites

(for example here : https://www.pkparaiso.com/xy/sprites_pokemon.php)

2) replace the existing sprites, in the directory Graphic / Battlers.

 

But you have to know that you may (more than probably) encounter a lot of issues, and spend some time and energy trying to fix it. Mostly :

-you will have to spend time on your own to understand how it works

-you will certainly need to re-adjust the size of the sprites, and use a graphic software (i dunno how familiar you are with this, but paint won't do : you have to keep the transparency of the sprites)

-you will certainly have visual perspective issues : the inclination of the 3d pokemons may not coincide with the one of the player/opponent battle bases, or the sprites may seem to float in the air

-you may of course encounter graphic bugs

-to my humble opinion, since the game was designed from 3rd gen graphics, the result might just be disappointing and result in an ugly contrast between the pixel design and the new gens sprites.

 

But anyway, if you like the 3d sprites and want to add them, that's more or less the way to proceed.
