Bounsweet event

So I saw that Bounsweet is an event pokemon through the salon and you need the glameow from the other salon place. The thing is I evolved it into Purugly with it having max friendship and the event isn't happening. Do I need the glameow specifically or am I just being dumb?

Edit: Nvm i did need the glameow all good now.

I had the same problem. I simply used the Purugly to breed a Glameow and that did the trick for me.

Maybe if you hatch the Purugly's egg, inside the Glamazonia Salon...?

 

7th street pokemon, that lots of people had a similar issue with, was remedied by hatching a bunch of their species' new eggs, at 7th street location (the sidequest's required one). Then, they would be accepted and treated, as if they had been the original ones (that said people evolved, lost, traded or released).
