WistfulBreeze Posted July 4, 2015 Share Posted July 4, 2015 So I just booted the game up for the first time ever and ended up with a shiny mudkip, is this common or should I be praising our lord and savior gaben right now? Kookies Posted July 4, 2015 Share Posted July 4, 2015 (edited) Shinies are rare alright! The encounter rate is higher than the other pokemon games however. Also the sprites of shinies are different. If you want to check the sprites out you can always go to Gamefolder/Graphics/Battlers! Lord Regal Posted July 4, 2015 Share Posted July 4, 2015 That's the first time I've seen the shiny Mudkip sprite…I must say, I like that a lot hah…lot better than the slight recoloring the official games have. I'll also confirm Skyrunner's statement…there's a 1% chance of anything you encounter being shiny, which is ludicrously high compared to the official games while still being quite rare, so it's still impressive you got that.
