Red_Chaos Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 (edited) As of episode 15, Reborn has picked up quite a few starters in the main story. With the availability of certain starters over others, does this alter your choice as your first partner? Bulbasaur- Option as a starter only, was originally on Azurine island Chamander- Option as a starter only Squirtle- As of 15 is found in the Byxbysion Wastelan Chikorita- Found on the Azurine Island after showing a crazy person a chimeco Cyndaquil- Buy from 7th street pokemon dealer Totodile- As of 15 found in the Am mountians Treecko-Option as a starter only Torchic-Option as a starter only, Considered broken starter Mudkip-Option as a starter only, recently axed Turtwig-Agate Circus Chimchar- Option as a starter only Piplup- Found on 7th street once you trade in a "Rare Candy" Snivy- Option as a starter only, but is seen with Fern Tepig- Seen in the Pyrous Mountain, but is seen with Vic Oshawott- Option as a starter only, but is seen with Cain Chespin- Given as an egg in 7th street Fennekin-Found in Water Treatment Center Froakie-Option as a starter only, considered 2nd broken starter Edited June 6, 2015 by Red_Chaos Quote
ShadowStar Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Chimchar has been super reliable since the beginning for me. Quote
Knight_Teutonic Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 In my most recent run I've picked Torchic. The "broken" is real with this one. Quote
Alilatias Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Usually I picked either Froakie or Torchic. In my most recent runs however, I decided to go with Chespin and Fennekin even though they're both available later in the game, the logic being that I'd never use them otherwise. They're fairly interesting and not bad at all. (Also early Wingull is pretty awesome too.) Quote
Red_Chaos Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 find it funny that most of the fire starters have 3 votes Quote
Antilegend Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Contrary Snivy for the long game. Either that or Iron Fist Chimchar. Charmander's access to Dragon Rage early game, while nice, doesn't have the viability other starters have late in the game. Quote
Lord Tobirama Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Same here recently started a new file using contrary snivy. Has some growing pains probably up to the 4th gym (im on the 5th) but besides that its great. Quote

Bessi Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Team Chimchar!!!no one has outspeed my Infernape except that cinccino in the battle against noel.and in the end of the turn it met its demise Quote
ShadowStar Posted June 6, 2015 Posted June 6, 2015 Yeah anything that outspeeds Infernape (like chinchino) can hold dat Iron Fist Mach Punch. Quote
Red_Chaos Posted June 6, 2015 Author Posted June 6, 2015 Charmander v.s. Froakie is a really thing right now, probably because you can't get them... Quote
alaneapen Posted June 7, 2015 Posted June 7, 2015 I think you should pick a starter that you either can't get in the wild or receive as an event pokemon like torchic, chimchar or froakie. Quote

Red_Chaos Posted June 7, 2015 Author Posted June 7, 2015 and Chimchar v.s. Froakie becomes the new battle Quote
Giuvia Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 (edited) I dont feel good using ubers (and OU).. so probabily go for mudkip or trecko. ahm, i dont go for a one who can be founded later in the game, and also i would choose a mon who can megaevolve. Edited June 8, 2015 by Giuvia Quote
ShadowStar Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 Yeah Mudkip is a good choice. Natural access to Earthquake is always a good thing to have. Quote
Red_Chaos Posted June 8, 2015 Author Posted June 8, 2015 some how Torchic got a up to 8 votes o.o Quote
ShadowStar Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 some how Torchic got a up to 8 votes o.o Yeah Speed Boost comes through~ Quote
Knight_Teutonic Posted June 8, 2015 Posted June 8, 2015 some how Torchic got a up to 8 votes o.o The stupid frog pokémon still has more votes though. Quote
Vinny Posted June 9, 2015 Posted June 9, 2015 Turtwig too far. I'd still pick it in episode 15 and in episode 16. When the game is complete though... I don't know. Quote
dankicks83 Posted June 17, 2015 Posted June 17, 2015 Mudkip. Has Rock Slide/Earthquake in it's learnset set as Marshtomp/Swampert.That and I find good bulky waters hard to find in Reborn. Quote
JRMEB Posted June 20, 2015 Posted June 20, 2015 mudkip., with mudkip evolving to being only weak to grass, and having high attack, defense, and hp stats, only getting through the first part of the game is pretty challenging, but the rest is no problem. Swampert's earthquake also got me through Charlotte's tough pokemon squad; hate the fact that they made noel and Charlotte easier, loved the challenge because it made the game more interesting. Quote
