Metal Coat for Onix

I battled the giant Steelix but didn't find any metal coat. Where is this item locatated exactly? Everybody says it is where you battle Steelix but I can't find any.

At the moment I am right after I defeated the Pulse Abra. How far do I have to go to get another link stone? Got it from rock in front of Y-something headquaters.

There is a linkstone hidden near where you rescue the children from Dr. Sigmound, exiting from the railnet I think, and you can also buy them in the dept store (not sure how many tickets you need) and one to the guy near around the area where the bomb exploded (Opal Ward).And the Metal Coat is where you battled steelix, just try to go there after you battle Noel or something.

I went there I couldn't find anything I even checked every rock in case if it was hidden in rock. Got 2 linkstones I am fine with them for now.

Yeah you have to beat Noel before you can get the metal coat. He's the next gym leader.

Wild Magnemites have a 5% chance to hold a Metal Coat, so if you are desperate for a Steelix go to Shade's Gym with a pokemon with Compoundeyes as it's ability, put it first in your party even if it's fainted and the chance will be increased to 20%. If you are bored to do all of this then defeat Noel and return to Tanzan Depths

All right got metal coat from magnemite. But this deal evolving Onix into Steelix is sham. All stats go up but speed fells by x2.
