  1. (Haven't played through the entire game cuz I have given up on the Glass Factory battle)

Okay so I am not gonna be too popular with my pics but oh well

Also since Team Meteor memebers are brought up already I won't bring them up

    Amaria

    Spoiler

Okay. Hear me out. I know she is depressed. I actually fully and personally understand what depression does to your head. I'm not coming after her because of that. I actually feel bad for her because she clearly has never had anyone hear her out or stayed as long as Titania has.
But for the love of God, she is a terrible partner. Being depressed is one thing but it shouldn't be used as an excuse for her actions. I understand Reborns characters aren't so much characters you help fixing their problems cuz it's none of your business, but this one actually made me upset. Especially since I have been in that situation myself where I was Titania. This chapter of the game is both my favorite but also the one I find the most uncomfortable. There is no sugar coating what Titania had to go through with Amaria. How she clings on to this broken relationship cuz otherwise she sees nothing worth living for. How she is just one step away from the edge and the only thing holding her back is Titania. But a broken relationship is just that. Broken. At one point or another, it will break completely. And both Amaria and Titania will have to live with the concequences of that. And come to terms with the fact that they just aren't good for each other.

I think the worst part of this all is that I don't want to dislike Amaria. I think she can be a good person if she just got some help. We actually see glimpses of whom she COULD be too, which makes it more bitter to witness her later on.
Sure, she hasn't murdered anyone (although almost) like Team Meteor but I think the emotional and mental trauma she has (un)intentionally caused Titania is bad as well and doesn't really get....talked as much as I feel like it should....again she ain't evil. Just a very flawed person

    Serra

    Spoiler

So I know that she shows up in the Glass Factory but I dunno is there is more exploration of her character or not since she isn't as developed as the others, so I'll base on what I do know from the chapter involving her.
Serra is...........vain. She clearly seems more fixiated on her looks and her status as a model than raising her own child properly. Bennett is a complete creep, but who knows if he would've been like this had Serra just....cared about him more. I mean, I dunno about you, but when her son left, her reaction to it seemed so....passive aggressive. "I should be happy for him" ...it doesn't sound like she cares that her son just ran off with a complete stranger. Sure, she doesn't know that Elias is bad news, but still....
Also the way she completely shuts down Bennett when he starts talking about his interest in bugs.....I mean poor guy seems to have self-esteem issues. You're not really making it better by showing him how little you care about his passion. Hey, I'm not into bugs, but I'd happily listen to his ramblings cuz seems no one else is willing too, including his own mom.

I guess those two (aside from Meteor characters) would be my pick. But to be honest, even I think Serra and Amaria are bad, I think they're perfect characters for this story. I love Reborns story cuz the characters are flawed. And you, as a protagonist, only gets to see slices of these peoples lives. You never fix anything into perfection. You're just there witnessing their lives. It feels so much more realistic and sad that way. That you can't do anything about these peoples lives. You can try, but at the end of the day it's mostly up to them what happens going foward.

    So yeah........guess that's it?

I feel like the story is gonna take a turn soon, with us learning more about what Team Xen really wants, more Team Xen team ups maybe?

I hope this is the case. Concidering that appearently V13 is gonna be a longer version, I hope that it might contain more answers. Mysteries are only intriguing for so long.  It is fun to speculate a lot tho, I must say.

Lastly, I would just like to wonder what the ending conditions are gonna be like? It is gonna be really annoying if a "good ending" requires a bunch of very specific choices. Although, I feel like I made no real bad choices the entire game, so maybe I will be fine... But still conditions like that are really obnoxious, especially considering how long this game is.

I am worried about this too. I've seen people speculate about certain choices being linked to certain endings. And I don't mind that too much at all. What I do mind is that people are talking about karma points and how it's linked to sidequests. I haven't really done any of the sidequests, to be honest. I'm worried something like that might affect the ending because it's never specified to be important in-game (at least not from what I remember)

These were my thoughts too, I'd imagine that if they were gonna be a stereotypically evil team (this is a reborn-esque game so no) they would have mentioned it much earlier in the story. It seems that Madame X, with all her shenanigans, is attempting to guide the MC to take a specific path and choices. If she weren't I'd see no reason for why she took the notebook in Kugearen City before the MC finished reading it (might have affected the timeline in an unfavorable way), and it likely belongs to her, as the place looks similar to a Team Xen base and she seems to be the only Xen member to actively time travel.

This brings up an interesting idea. I've always believed that Crecents role within the story is to guide the PC away from the role of interceptor. Telling them to not be involved with Melia & co, telling them that they should be living a happy, normal life and manipulating Nim/Lorna to turn certain people in GDC to stone to (probably) stop the PC's progression.
So if that is true, then it makes more sense why Crecent was put out of commission by this redhaired girl. We've seen her and Kieran cooperating with Madame X. And if her motivation is to save the world from a future catastrophe, then they wouldn't want someone like Crecent ruining it. The interceptor needs to progress, needs to be involved so they can make their judgement and in return: save or doom the world.
So your idea of Madame X guiding the PC then makes sense. She wants them to fill the role of interceptor cuz they're the only one who can do something about whatever catasrophe awaits. And it could be that after Madame X learned that the PC is the interceptor, went through different times in the past/present/future to make sure we'd make the good choices: telling the redhaired girl to get rid of Crecent, stopping you from reading that book, etc.

To me their motivation seem to be about adverting the catastrophe that is coming.

    "Evidence"

-Madame X has a philosophy that you should sacrifice one person to save millions. Such a Philosophy makes no sense from an evil villain that wants to take over the world or what not, so it would make more sense for her to have a good goal like saving the world, at any cost, which is why they need Melia's power. Sure they kill people to get to this goal, but if doing so would save more people then why would they not do so?

-Madame X helps stop the city in the past from getting blown up when the MC goes the wrong way when looking for the bomb.

-Madame X attempts to stop the timeline from changing when you "save" Vivian (or so she claims) but fails to do so. They then work with you to set the timeline right again. If they wanted to destroy the world then Madame X would have won right here, but instead they try to save it.

Hence, I would tend to agree that Madame X/Team Xen is indeed trying to do good, they are just using evil means to do so, but the signs point to them having a good goal.

Alternatively, they could just be a stereotypical evil group that wants to take over the world (but not destroy it since they would've accomplish that when you saved Vivian) and they think that having Melia's light would let them accomplish that. Naturally if Melia dies or the apocalypses happens they would be unable to take over the world.

So it is still possible they could be evil, but the signs point to them having a good goal for their evil methods. Least, that is what it seems like to me.

Here is the interesting thing thought, the person who can decide fate is the MC, the interceptor. So at the end of the day it is likely that Team Xen will need the MC's help to accomplish their goal, since you know, you literally have the power to change fate...

Anyway, that is my guess about what their goal is. I imagine it is saving the world from some threat, no matter the cost.

Giving you a like for that. I like your ideas!

I'm not sure until now what to think. It's been a while too since I played the game so a lot could be forgotton since playing it. It is true, however, that Madame X has done good despite being the main (?) antagonist. I always felt like it was out of necessaity, tho? I thought I remembered her saying in the doomed timeline that she's only working with us to fix our mistakes. I mean, she's stuck there too so it's not like there's any other options for her.

But it sounds likely that destroying the world isn't on their agenda. But I just can't convince myself that they're completely good either. I mean Madame X literally tried to stab the PC. It feels like such a random action for her and this is way before she "appearently" learns about us being the Interceptor. So I am curious why she wanted the PC dead that time specifically...

But again, thanks for reminding me of some stuff. I'm very forgetful, haha

  4. Honestly? No idea at all. This is what probably bothers me the most about this story. There's no answers given to anything asked. It feels like the reason we until now haven't got the slightest clue what Team Xen wants is purely for it to be revealed later in a dramatic shocking way. This isn't a good way of writing an antagonist. We have no reason to really fight them except for plot reasons (and Melia).

I'm honestly begging that the one thing V13 has is just answers...even just one answer. I'm tired of being left in the dark.

  5. The characters in Rejuvenation is a mixed bag for me. Some of them I do enjoy (Aelita, Erin, Tesla etc) whereas others I cannot stand. As someone mentioned earier, I have the same problem as they do with Melia. I understand that she's techincally the main character, but I feel like she has a habit of hugging the spotlight a bit too much. She even overshadows the PC which I find annoying. At least in Reborn the PC is actually seen as a genuine threat and isn't just ignored for being mute/a self-insert. But in Rejuvenation, I just feel like you could take the PC out of the story and it wouldn't change a lot. It has helped a bit in the later chapters to make the PC a bit more relevant, but honestly it's baffling how unimportant I felt while playing the game.
On the flip side, you have characters like Aelita that goes through a big change and becomes such a likeable character. Venam also goes through this kind of character arc too, tho it's less compelling to me since it happens mostly off screen.
It is disappointing how little the male characters left an impression on me. Reborn has the same problem too, tho, so...

The story is actually to me interesting, but the Bladestar arc was...not........good. Mainly because I didn't care for Flora what so ever. I think a lot could've fixed this arc for me had Flora been written as a more likeable character so the actions she commits later is more shocking. And also maybe not randomly kill off probably 100's of Bladestar grunts just for being an obstable. There wasn't a problem making them run away from the threats in the Pyramid just a few moments ago, but it is when they're blocking the way?
I am also not a big fan of the time-travel stuff. It just becomes a bit too much. This story is a lot more fantastical, but it is trying too much to fit every single fantastical element into it. Time Travel? Yes. Reincarnation? Yes. Robots? Yes. Yes to all the above.

So to put it short: I'd cut some of the characters out of the story. Some of them feel unessecary and I think the game would benefit from having fewer, better written characters as compared to the many underdeveloped characters it has now. I also would maybe decide on if the PC is a self-insert or not. Giving them a backstory makes them not a self-insert, but making them 95 % mute doesn't make them a complete character of their own either...

The story needs some fixes here and there imo. I'll admit I have no idea how I would write such a story like this, but I'm sure the people behind this is trying their best and doing what they can. Just because I have issues with it doesn't mean I have issues with the game as a whole. It's a fun game for me to play and I'm actually excited for what it has next in store! So let's all see where this all takes us. Who knows, we don't have the full context of everything yet, so I could change my mind.

The ultimate twist would be that Madame X is the champion, would make sense that they were doing nothing in this case...

Also as for Ame from Reborn, I hate the way that character was handled, we knew nothing about them and then

      Reveal hidden contents

they just die. Like bruh, to me they are just the person who tells you about the gyms. Really feels like we needed more actual interaction with them and maybe to battle alongside them to see how strong they are (like what was done for the water gym leader). Anyway, #notmychampion

Just wanted to say I completely agree with you about Ame's character.

    Spoiler

I think the only reason she was involved and taken out of commission was purely to show off Lin's character as someone ruthless and powerful. But I mean....we kinda got the point during the whole chapter of what kind of person Lin is. I understand that Ame herself mentioned something along the lines of not really wanting to involve her own character too much in the story. That's fine and all, but then maybe give small bits of who she is as a person via the advice machine she uses to give you for each gym leader. It's not like we need a whole backstory for her death to be earned.
Or create a new character to represent the champion and give that character some presence/personality that we can get attatched to. I guess it all comes down to the whole argument of "well, why don't the champion do something?" but I mean.... just cuz the champion is the most powerful pokemon trainer out there, doesn't mean they can fix everything? Especially not in a story like Reborn where the antagonist has multiple bases hidden from sight.

Honestly I couldn't get attached to Ame anyways as a character since she seems pretty shady or two-faced. Idk, but she's always given me a bad feeling.

Anyways, back to Rejuvenation. No idea who the champion is. Alexandra to me feels like an easy mislead or something. Idk, I feel like the story has so many twist and turns that I cannot trust anything or anyone, hah...

FYI, Crescent can be found in Nightmare City from the very first visit.

I don't believe that she's dead and if she can still be found in NC after her alleged death that is just confirmation to me. It's possible that she could be in a coma but a coma is not dead...not legally at least.

Ooooo, didn't know that. But it makes sense.

Isn't it basically confirmed that Melia = Maria/Marionette/Melanie?
Like, of course it's not stated out-loud, but is that confirmation even needed at this point? We have all the hints to put together that they're all the same person/reincarnated. Same hair color, same gifted existense and they're usually all desired by horrible people for their light thingy.
Also one thing I realized: Melia has never met Maria/Marionette. Only Melanie. But the odd thing is....she made Melaine a part of herself, even tho they're from different timelines. So does that mean she'll have to do that to Maria/Marionette too...? Idk, Melia is such a confusing character to me, tbh.

  8. 8 minutes ago, pizzagod13 said:

Maybe? You can find her in the Nightmare world which would imply she is not dead, but who knows? Regardless, even if she is dead, the past version of her is still alive meaning we could still see more of her.

I really hope that's the case, because if I'm gonna be honest, I can't clearly understand what actually happened to her.

Red-haired girl claims she killed her, but if she's in the nightmare city, that can't be the case. Unless that's where dead people hang out too, or like you said, another version of Crescent. It's a rather bold statement to make to have killed someone, but then again, we dunno if this redhead or Kieran is aware of Nightmare city.
Crescent must be really important, at least. She wasn't taken to the doctor to be brainwashed like the others. Maybe she's in a void, where we see previous characters being trapped inside? Cuz then she's techincally neither alive nor dead.

I dunno, like you said, it's a hard thing to pin down for sure concidering her time-travelling schemes. Cuz we dunno if there's a limit to how many of yourself can run around across time. But we'll see eventually!

  9. 2 minutes ago, pizzagod13 said:

I think one of the main issues that make Crescent hard to pin down is the fact that she is a time traveler. We have no idea in what order we are meeting her ever. What meetings is she still part of the stormschasers during and what meeting has she already left them in? The context of WHEN she comes from is hugely important to determining why she did certain actions.

    Yes, that's a thing too

That's why I love speculating on her character motivation because it's so mysterious. For all we know, we can all be wrong about her. I really hope for the next chapter we'll maybe get some better idea what really happened to her, cuz she's clearly not dead, just out of commission in the moment.....I...think?

  10. I'd honestly compare the relationship between Crecent and PC with that of Homura and Madoka from PMMM

Homura is the all-knowing one who purposefully withholds information and prevents Madoka from taking action in any situation since Homura knows the truth and doesn't want Madoka to get hurt.
Madoka, on the other hand, is the clueless protagonist who has the power to change reality (and basically become God), but is only able to do so after gathering every possible information and make the choice to save the world.

It's very clear that Crecent does have some kind of relationship with PC whenever it's positive or negative, we don't know 100 % sure. But I do clearly remember when the scene on Valor Mountain happens, Crecent says something along the lines of: "I wish for you to be happy/smile". That is such a simple wish that makes me believe Crecent does have some good intentions towards the PC, but like Homura, doesn't relay the whole truth.

So if we continue this idea of Crecent = Homura and PC = Madoka. Crecents role would be to prevent us from becoming the Interceptor, which is why she might've been taken out of comission since she just got in the way all the time. I mean...Kieran and the red-haired girl seems self-aware of the situation. Kieran says something like: "I used to know what my faith was", but what happened to change everything? The PC's arrival. So it only makes then sense for Crecent to be stopped by them if there's some kind of loop or time paradox going on. Which coincidentally can only be broken by the PC.

This is at least how I interpert it but it's kinda interesting to see the interpertation of Crecent only using the PC too for her own advantage since she is known to manipulate others for her own benefit. But who knows, Crecent is a hard nut to crack due to her two-faced actions.

  11. (Mind you, I haven't played through the entire game yet since I'm stuck at Glasswork, just as a heads up)

In my opinion, I deeply related to Titania's story. As someone who is also been in an unhealthy relationship, I could understand her struggles a lot. It made me regret picking the Zekrom path seeing as she's being tied down by Amaria's inability to accept the truth. This part of the game was my favorite for being a realistic depiction of a toxic relationship. While I empathize with Amaria, she's clearly not suited for this kind of relationship without going through some treatment first. Untreated depression really messes with ones head, sadly..

So I guess those two would be my pick? It's very interesting various peoples interpertation of this question.

  12. Dunno if anybody is interested, but I feel like speculating a bit about the Player Character cuz they're one of the more interesting characters to me in this game

So reading the various theories people have, it seems a lot of people speculate that Crecent is PC's mom. I find this theory interesting and wouldn't mind if it was true. But what bothers me about peoples "proof" of this is how it's based on her saying "she wishes to see the PC smile/be happy" and in general being a sort of antagnost, always trying to stop the PC from progressing in the story.
How I interpert Crecent's wish is that it implies the PC hasn't been allowed to be happy or smile for an unknown amount of time. And based off of the PC's quote-on-quote "lack of personality", I see it more as the PC being a trauma victim. Their stoic personality, lack of talking and surpressed memories seems to me like they may have experienced something traumatic before the events of the game. Especially concidering they literally have a mental breakdown at this house from the past.
So it's confirmed that the PC we play as is an "Interceptor", someone above fate who can alter it based on their judgement of the people around them. I have this strange feeling our PC wasn't always the Intercepter and was perhaps forced into this role? I just find it strange how the PC would have all these seemingly normal, even happy memories if they were always desitined to be the Interceptor. So I thought they might've been forcefully taken away from their normal life and forced to become the Interceptor to save this universe. I mean, think about the amount of burden and stress it must be to know that you are the only one who can save or doom this universe? So what would be a logical thing to do? To surpress those memories of your old self and become someone essentionally "neutral" in order to furfill the role as the Interceptor. My theory is that whatever.....person or creature that possess the PC in the Pyramid scene is the real Interceptor. Don't....really have anything to back it up on, but it's just what I think. I just can't buy into the theory that the player is the Interceptor seeing as the PC isn't a comeplete blank-slate and has a backstory.

As for Crecent.....she seems also like someone who is above fate to an extent. She's not as free as our PC is, but she is able to alter it too. So it could be she wants to prevent the PC from becoming the Interceptor since it involves a lot of suffering, difficult choices and even self-sacrifice for the sake of people we barely know (in the beginning anyways).  Crecent seem to value the PC's well-being above all else. This doesn't mean she can't be their mom, but I just thought her motivations could be simply not wanting the PC to suffer anymore since they might never have concented to being in this position in the first place. Probably not likely, but I thought I might give this as a food-for-thought.

(Also for those who complain that the PC in Rejuvenation has no personality, take a moment to compare them to the PC from Reborn. I find Reborns PC a lot more stoic, even lifeless as compared to Rejuventions PC. Even if it isn't much, there are these small moments showing some humanity from the PC like reacting when something happens to their friends or blocking Melia from the Yveltal attack. Reborns PC barely reacts to Corey's suicide or Kiki's murder. Don't mean to rant on Reborn, just felt the complain about Rejuvenations PC being lifeless is kinda unfair)

  13. Decided to do some headshots of the first five gym leaders you meet. I am planning on doing more, but didn't feel like spamming
Also I realize head-shots aren't the most interesting of fanarts, but I hope to do some more illustrations for this game

    Until then, enjoy, I guess?

Please forgive this awful photo quality too
