I'm sure by this point the majority realizes the devs know what they're doing. What's challenging is fairly subjective anyway, so when in doubt the more accessible the better, I'd say.

Fair enough. The base game is already pretty challenging anyway. Anyone who might want more can always attempt a nuzlocke or a monotype run.

Is the game programmed with Set mode in mind, rather than Shift mode, or vice versa?
Furthermore, would you generally recommend maximizing the EVs in two stats or spreading them out more evenly (for those of us who stick with the same team or two from start to finish)?
