Just found this post and was also confused on how to properly use the sprites. If I don't use the follower mod, can I still get the box sprites to be updated if I copy the sprites to the correct folders? Is that all it takes or do I have to install something else? I am having really bad shiny luck in this game (still SRing for a starter after nearly 300 SRs with no luck) and I won't know if I did it right until I get it.

I was watching PokeMens latest videos and noticed that his shiny Piplup had the shiny sprite on the nickname screen. I am over 250 SRs for a shiny starter and was wondering if this would be the case for the starter. This would allow me to SR much faster but I don't want to try that and miss the shiny because I SR before checking the Pokemon menu. Does anyone who got a shiny starter since the update that changed the menu sprites know the answer to this? Edit: I learned it was a mod (post below) and that it wasn't a built in feature. For anyone who looks here and has used this mod, do I need the follower mod for this to work? Do I just copy the files to the correct folders? Is there anything else I have to do?
