  1. It's not that far in, the specifics are in the spoiler window

    Spoiler

As soon as you can get back to Gearen from Terajuma. (Post-Valerie, Iirc.)

  2. Also, while it's not like the area effect is actively detrimental, it's not terribly advantageous for him, unlike a lot of gym fields, which means you don't need to make a counter-tactic around the field he's using. He's not just relatively easy because "normal type is a bad type", though his team could definitely be scarier. (He doesn't have proper home field advantage is what I'm trying to say.)

  3. I was surprised by how easy Noel was as a fight for me, but by "easy", I mean "I lost less than ten times to him before I won". I think your team looks like it is probably hypothetically capable of winning, but that's an incredibly vague statement for me to make. At the minimum, this looks like a team that won't win the first round with him? I hope that's not rude of me to say?

(I think it might be capable of winning, but if it is, you probably need to be going in with a solid idea of what Noel'll throw at you and how to counter it, I think? I'm not sure. Good luck!)

just wondering how far the story is

and is gen 8 mons already in-game

Gen 8 mons won't be in the game until next version, which is the one currently in progress, and will be in the game then. That should come out within the next twelve months unless something goes horribly wrong. By badges/version number, we're 75% done, but I don't know what that is in units of content. (Some gym badges have more content between badges than others, I expect this pattern to continue.) There's a lot of content already, though, so outside of "I'm waiting for gen 8 mons to come out", I don't think there's any real reason not to start now.

  5. Spoiler

Unlike most people, I actually don't like the story that much. It's good, but it's also super wacky and weird and clearly slated to only get weirder. It's not inherently bad, it just feels like... Idk, if Reborn is "pokemon noir", which is actually a pretty good descriptor till around when you leave the city, Rejuvenation is "pokemon shonen anime", only even weirder. That's not to say I dislike the story, it's just not my favorite thing. (I do dislike how all the Team Xen admins are having their points in humanity retconned in, but only because I'd rather have had it up front.)

No, my favorite thing is all the interesting places it takes me to, and how well it represents most of them: A massive "metropolis in a bubble", a ravaged wasteland, a ruined city, it did the "massive desert" much better than Reborn imo, the past, a frozen castle- not everywhere it took me was new or unique, but I loved all the ones that were, and it did a good job of making them feel new and unique.

  6. I'm pretty sure you're wrong, and that Erin got

    Spoiler

Dragged/kicked out of the unknown dimension before Alice and Allen, meaning Erin and Erina are the exact same person. After all, Erin is adopted, and their memories were screwed up in there too.

She also doesn't resemble Erin at all, so if you make the assumption in the spoiler, there's no reason to assume she is another Erin. (Besides, all the characters could wind up in a bad mental space in a bad timeline. No one was exactly a bastion of stability in the "sacrifice-less" future.) That said, it is very likely- given that she's got a Time Gear or an equivalent ability- that she is from an alternate timeline, or from this one's future. If we assume that, we can also assume that anyone who has canonically touched her isn't an alternate Madame X. ...but that basically just means that Madame X is not Sakitron, given that she's wearing an outfit that covers literally all of her.

We don't have enough evidence to do more than throw wild guesses out, and your theory discards the most useful piece of info we have to narrow down the possibilities. (Honestly, I think the most likely guess we have right now is "She's Nim, either an alternate or temporally displaced", but that one doesn't seem all that likely either.)

I played through chapter ten but restarted recently, I don’t plan to tell Cassandra as she seemed bad and I was right back then. Is that really all that you need to do? I feel like turning Flora in would effect it.

    Spoiler

From what I've heard, I'm pretty sure that's all you need to do. I think he's specifically killed "because of something Cassandra learns about his dad if you tell her about Flora", though, so who knows if he's long for this world anyways. Flora definitely isn't going to kill him- she's a jerk, but there's not anything to be gained from killing him yet.

I’ve heard that Florin can die in the most recent episode. Is there any way I can prevent this?

    That depends: Have you

    Spoiler

    completed all Chapter 10 content?

If yes, then either no or you've already prevented it. If no, then

    Spoiler

Don't tell Cassandra about what Flora's up to. (Maybe not turning in Flora would also save him, I haven't heard about that side of it.)

I'm not sure why anyone thought doing what got him killed was a good idea, though.

Hey all, I just had some questions about the pickup ability. Each Pokemon in your party has a 10% chance of picking up an item during every single battle, correct? So if I carried 5 pickup Pokemon, each battle I'd have a 50% chance of picking up an item? Is that percentage the same in Rejuvenation? And does that include defeating wild Pokemon?

The reason I ask is because I've been carrying 2 pickup Pokemon while doing some EV training in the EV training rooms. I've been at it about 2 hours and just got my first pickup item. For a while I thought you just couldn't get them against those trainers (which would be understandable) but now I'm not sure if I've just got terrible luck or what. I've yet to crack even the first pickup achievement on this file, and I need new ways of getting AP in the early game now that berry prices have been raised.

Any info pertaining to any of this is much appreciated!!

It's definitely not deliberate. If you've done 10 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 1.5%- which is solidly in the "you could just be unlucky" territory. If you've done 20 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 1 in 4,600, which is in the realm of "if you're unlucky, you're pretty dang unusually unlucky". If you've done 30 battles an hour for 2 hours, then the odds of not getting a pickup is around 3 in 10 million. Which is solidly in the "either something's wrong, you're incredibly unlucky, or you're cursed". Idk the actual luck you've been having, and haven't been using the EV training rooms myself so idk how fast you finish battles, but that should give you an idea as to the scope of the problem.

There's the Narcissa thing in her sidequest where she and her younger self almost got forcefully overwritten even though they haven't touched, so idk bout that.

    Spoiler

That was without the overwrite protection provided by the Time gear. And we know madam X has something similar to the time gear. The only examples we have for time travel not involving that, unless there's information I missed because i haven't finished that sidequest yet, is from the bad future timeline- and route 2. In the example with a major change, or maybe the one we were coming "before our birth"/"after our death", at least one of our counterparts was active independently of her time traveler. (In the example without a major change, I'm guessing that both Melias and both interceptors collided at some point, probably during a trip to the past/future. It's good to know that all the time wasted in route 2 wouldn't have prevented Melia's "death", though.)

On the matter of Time gears, you forget, We and Melia had time gears too but we couldn't co-exist with out past selves could we? Time Travel is confusing.

    Spoiler

We could coexist in the sense that we existed at the same time at all. Yeah, if we made contact with our counterparts we'd fuse and get their memories, but everyone else just- got overwritten by the new timeline. Until Madam X touched her "native to her tampered timeline" counterpart, she could exist at the same time as her original self.

VERY strange that that option would be considered the 'good' path, though I suppose it is the only one that makes a short term intimidate change.

    Spoiler

It's because that option is more heroic. "Save Everyone", y'know? Also, let them kill each other and god sort them out is equally unheroic. Especially since in both paths Melia gets the same result. Anyways, the corrupt cop might deserve to die. but not at Gardevoir's hands? I mean, one of them has a fuckload more blood on their hands than the other.

Madam X seems to be trying to cause storm 9, and Crescent does have a sense of protectiveness over us, so if she's Madam X, that would be very inconsistent. Sure this game loves throwing plot twists at us with varying degrees of sensibility, but not like this. Freya herself states that she tortured Keta as an experiment to bring about the birth of Aelita, and she was annoyed that Team Xen rescued Keta from his attempted suicide, so she didn't torture Keta to help Team Xen.

    Spoiler

First of all, time gears are real and a thing- it's entirely possible that Crescent and Madame X are the same person, but with a timeline overwrite separating them. (More likely that's Nim and Madam X, though. Or Alejandra and X) Especially with the way Madame X abused her time diamond, and clearly is in possession of something that functioned like a time gear (She's still our Madame X and recognizes us despite the time branching in the bad timeline, and she knows we messed with the timeline.) Secondly, if Aelita's existence is useful to Xen... The issue is, Xen and the figures are just- outside scope problems. We don't know Madam X's end goal. We know the Mysterious figures interact with X a lot more like they're teammates than the Admins do, and Madam X seems to use her Admins once each. (Madelis doesn't get to do anything dangerous after sheridan, Etc. Almost all the admins only wreak havoc the first time they appear, and then suddenly tone down their threat levels a lot.)

  14. 18 hours ago, Magus543 said:

Okay, so assuming Madam X gains Melia's light, what exactly is she planning on doing with it? World domination? Remake the universe? She also was plotting on using the pyramid to travel other planets, but back on topic, what could you do with Melia's light besides generic white mage powers? From Melanie's happy ending, we can assume mental control is possible, which may bring me back to Xenpurgis and why Melia was given the gold version.

My guess is that the gem of life is a shoddy knockoff of the archetype. And the archetype is therefore useful for most things that the gem of life is useful for, but far moreso- in fact, it seems like the Archetype was among the highest-tech stuff/strongest relics that the creators of the Interceptor had- probably not a sacrifice-based culture, and therefore not the Garu[something]. As such, the answer is probably "I don't know, but more options is always better and I bet this opens a lot of options".

EDIT: Also, I think the villain decay of most of the non-X villains is simply that she came up with their evil plans, except for Geara's Giratina schemes. When they aren't acting on her orders, a lot of their schemes just- are orders of magnitude less dangerous. Even when they are, the magnitude of their schemes changes wildly based on what X thinks is practical. Madelis was wildly gloating, but I'm willing to bet the actual scheming was the "figures" and Madam X.

  15. In my opinion, Reborn has the better maps than rejuvenation- but I really liked Reborn city. It sold me on the setting, that even before team meteor, this was a grim and gritty city, somewhere between a noir setting and and gotham, with some irl-shithole aesthetic for flavor. The unnatural disasters really hammered in both how big of a threat Team Meteor was and how much the city was failing, and the deaths emphasized that meteor isn't just the assholes we facestomp in traditional pokemon games. Most of Reborn sold the setting very well, and honestly I'd say its lore mostly is self-sufficient. It's pretty clear that Gardevoir's black hole is not what a person on our world would call a black hole, but frankly the fact that the pokemon world still exists is sufficient evidence for that.

Getting out into the wilderness was a breath of fresh air, but a lot of it felt wild and untamed... which was the point, I guess. I'm actually more of a fan of reborns "find the sidequests yourself, asshole" system to what rejuv has, but that's as someone with access to a guide when I need it.

Rejuv makes me actually wonder about the setting, though. Reborn mostly feels like it makes sense, but. Rejuv doesn't do a bad job of constantly raising questions. Rejuv drops more arcs, though. In Reborn, every plot arc except for the hospital of horrors itself had me engaged and not rolling my eyes. In Rejuv, quite a few are botched/rushed a little or a lot.

Rejuv is harder, imo, on some levels, but Reborn feels more fair in its ruthless curbstomps. The gym leaders might have better mons than you, but they aren't better by much, and only a handful of pulse mons are fighting without the handicap of "I don't have a team". Rejuv sets full-on legendaries on you in a lot of gym battles, meanwhile.

Either way, I prefer both Rejuv and Reborn to Desolation. The aesthetic of Desolation is simply not my cup of tea... also there's no accelerate button, which is a huge problem. That isn't saying it's not a good game, though. It's just... long stretches of wilderness with brief patches of civilization isn't really my preference

  16. To answer the original question: I like the MC's plot. I wasn't able to get very far in "Where Love lies"  because they made first-appearance-Keeta an idiot, so now I'm hesitant to try to force through. I'd probably hate to play as a regularly speaking protagonist for my default protagonist. Idk, though. I like being a muteopath, and I like the implications that my character did mourn and did care.

"they can't die"- Actually, its revealed in a diving area that we can indeed die if we die enough times so...

    Spoiler

More than that, we were made by people who owned and had access to the archetype, or at least both records wound up here. Also We cannot survive in space, and would pass out if we took te spaceship. Oh, and the same civilization that made us made the spaceship. (Also, if we die enough we'll break "The Core", which is is probably more of a "bad for everyone" than just... us dying. "Pillars and conduits beneath the earth's surface."  That said, the book also said "interceptor subjects", so...)

Aya and Adrienn are in this game, and they seem to be the same age as they were in Reborn, so i doubt Fern is the dad of Flora and Florin unless you want to argue that a highschooler somehow raised two kids into adulthood, and founded a terrorist organization while being in two regions at the same time.

It's a total joke of a theory, but they could be cousins. I think that'd imply good and evil sibling-pairs runs in the family, :)

I have lingering regrets. During the battle between Sakitron and Amanda, I played recklessly and loosely, with the idea that my first attempt would be geared towards learning the mechanics of the fight. Imagine my surprise thereafter, when upon reloading my save after being defeated, I was met with my 50 HP Sakitron once more. I was the victim of the autosave feature. At the time, I cursed my fate and simply went on with the game - but as the episode came to a close, I became more and more regretful of my actions. Not because I missed out on the Madame X content, or because of relationship points or whatever. I realized that I had missed out on the chance to see more of Sakitron in future content.

Thus, this post. I implore any devs out there to take my save file, and change the bit of code that records the outcome of that fateful battle. While I have already missed out on EP12's changed content, I hope to not have to miss out on future Sakitron content. I really hope doing such a thing won't crash or corrupt my save, but it's honestly a risk I'm willing to take (I'll make backups of my unedited save beforehand).

Please. Help me save Sakitron. Don't let Poppy die and leave Tora- I mean Erick - all alone.

    Spoiler

I hate to break it to you... but there is no "Saki lives" timeline, or at least not one I've seen.

The only content you missed is her dying landing an especially impressive blow against madame X (Also, if you want to see madame x w/o the mask, trchar095_7 is the spritesheet with her, or at least a spritesheet with her). Eric is probably equally messed up in both timelines- can't say for sure, but he's pretty messed up in the timeline where she survives the Amanda fight, so I can't imagine how she dies will change how likely she is to be brought back. Since Sakibot gets wrecked either way... Your quest is pointless, and the mission doomed to failure. Sakibot's death is integral to a stable timeline.

In short, if you care about Sakibot content in future versions and not in this version, it's almost certainly not going to be locked based on whether you won the fight or not. For more information, see the spoiler above.

Yeah but Cosmia and Comet at the very least have been impersonating Nancy and us for quite some time, it's very possible they rigged this in advance under orders of Team Xen for whatever reason. Speaking of Team Xen, but at this point do they even want us dead? This may be off topic, but consider that Madame X has been forced to save us at least twice and that Team Xen could easily kill us in our sleep since the Cassandra knows we are there, i'm starting to wonder if Team Xen has a reason for us to keep living.

Madame X said stuff indicating that our death causes serious issues- potentially up-to-and-including-destruction-of-the-timeline, but at least failure of her objectives. She "had to" save us. The impression I get is she wants to steal-or-replicate Melia's power, and cannot kill the protagonist or the timeline falls apart. That said, there's the fact that even if Cassandra knows where we are, so does the Puppet Master- even if she wanted to kill us, there are checks and balances, and we don't know what resources the Storm Chasers might've put into our survival. (Also, in order to kill us in our sleep they'd have to know when we sleep, which is information Cassandra wouldn't have, I don't think.)

  21. In addition to purify, Seed flare, Solar Beam, and Solar blade will all work, according to the field effects document. (Assuming any transformation from Corrupted Cave to Cave will suffice, but I personally used solar beam to solve it and that worked.)

We don't know all the details of Team Xen's goal, but we know they're looking to gather a type of energy created from conflict. This is why they don't care if their Shadow Pokemon get snagged, or if Blacksteeple ended in a riot: either way, their goal is fulfilled because they don't need to win all the fights, they just need the fights to happen. Neved said that Madame X also planned to eliminate her own guards at the castle.

On why people join: it's possible they don't know the severe consequences of failure, or that once they join Team Xen they can't go back, until later on. But if they do, Madame X may recruit people in desperate situations who are willing to take the risk because they have nothing to lose. If they fail, they'd be no worse off than they would if they didn't join, and if they succeed, they get to turn their life around. For example Neved, who didn't make enough money from being a sailor to pay for his daughter's hospital bills. Kind of similar to how Spacea and Tiempa orchestrated a scenario where Melia wouldn't have the option to refuse even though they gave her one.

    Spoiler

Another possibility, given what we've seen of death wings and how many recruits they have- and how casually they dispose of them- is that the majority of team Xen grunts are "maids", as described by anju. Of course, if that's the case, they must be deliberately summoning them with both self-preservation and personality- except that the maid gardevoir sends has a self-preservation instinct as well. This is both a fridge horror, as our "good guys" in the past are comfortable with killing entities that actually are human or close enough- and a good explanation for how they have enough team xen members to die for a single failure. This seems likely to be either a variant of the maid spell that produces clones, or backed by actual recruits.

Conveniently, this also allows Team Xen to suddenly bounce from the harmless fools they are characterized as in early-game to an utter nightmare, just by sheer quantity of mooks produced.

I mean, it's not the only possibility, but it's the one I like best, at this point- and I think that regardless of what normal xen grunts are, death wings are "maids".

I might be horribly mistaken, but it seems like a plausible option.

In the house there's a hook to put up a painting, where do we find It?

    Spoiler

There's a sidequest in grand dream city that'll ultimately award a copy of the painting. You need to find a guy who's interested in art, find the art gallery, direct the guy who's interested in art to the gallery, then the sidequest should continue from there. I hope that's enough detail?
