  1. So I'm looking for the "Choice" items - Scarf, Band and Specs. I already know that the Specs and Band are given out by either Team Aqua or Magma but I'm left wondering: is it possible to get the other one you missed out on?

Also, acording to the Item Location Guide v2 the Scarf is unobtainable but that's only E16-proof and obviously we're on 17. So, is it still unobtainable or can I get it somewhere?

    Nevermind, found my answers

  2. Player-Greninja could be nice. Edit the sprite a little bit to fit with the player sprite chosen at the start of the game and boom, you're on track.

Secondly, I'm not so sure it would be broken. We're on a level 90 (?) cap with E17 ATM and things are only going to get crazier. It already baffles me that you only get magikarp at the lvl 85/14-15th gym mark when in all main series you could get one at around 30s/3-4th gym.

This is just my two cents, and anyone can take it as they want (hell, you can even post down why you may think "insert Pokémon here" might be broken; but Reborn is already a harder game than main series. It does a lot of things right. But I can't help feeling like it takes many conservative steps.

So, to end, no Ash-Greninja is not in the game.

  3. Seeing as this recently came to life and I was just about ready-ing my team, would it also be possible to enable mine? I've been playing for a couple years now and only now am I understanding how useful that TM and how I wish I could've had it before.

    Thanks in advance

(pretty sure this is the one I mean to have edited)

  4. Since I can't find DJ Arclight at the Grand Hall after talking to him at the vendor, I'm pretty sure i need to finish E17 first. I'm just waiting for my mate to be able to visit (we're playing together) and as soon as we do it, I'll try and remember to post some news.

  5. So I was looking at the sidequest for the MegaRing and noticed you need the original pokémon from the 7th Street vendor. Problem is I took those pokémon and evolved them.

I assume you need the pokémon with the correct OT name (which obviously now I don't).

Could anyone trade me the Vanillite, Makuhita, Rogenrolla, Jigglypuff and Loudred I need, then?

  6. I consider myself a completionist. I have worked on my pokédex to the point where I have all the available pokémon up to E17. Shinies is just a "nice to have" collection but I'm also not actively seeking them out. So honestly, if it's all the same to you just keep it, return it or release it. Either way, it's not really worth the effort to trade it, at least for me.

  7. I don't really understand the reason of pushing back a magikarp so late in the game. In every main series game once you had an old rod you could get a magikarp. You could level it up by switch-battling or by using an exp.share. You probably had to leave yours in a pc box while you battled a gym cause it's so weak. But, eventaully, it learns tackle and evolves at 20 so at some point you could even train it by itself (i know i did) and gyarados was never an OP mon.

My point being that in every single game you could have a magikarp when your team was on their 30s and roughly on the 4th badge. Reborn has made the "wait" period 3 times as long.

And, not to make it look like I'm holding knives while talking, I like most of what reborn has done. But the pushing back of /magikarpgyarados never quite made sense to me.

  8. Fighting as many high level wild pokémon as possible is the most reliable method.

Battling in-game trainers is a better option as they often give out more xp as well as the added bonus of money.

If you feel you're wasting too much time, some people have taken to using third party tools to speed up their game and therefore power through more battles in less time. However that's a bit of a grey area and many people frown upon that.

If you have the cash to spare/burn, rare candies are the easiest and fastest way to level up, but you'll find that they're pretty expensive.

Those are essencially the only ways to get XP and level up your mons. Same as all the other core Pokémon games, the essence is in the grind

  9. if you've made through to the end of the story in episode 16 and opt to restore the science center (by paying some amount of money at the counter of the grand hall) there's a girl there that gives you a chimchar egg. i dont remember the specifics, but i think you need to trade with her (dont know which mon she wants) and i do believe she is only there at night. you could try looking for a video on youtube, it's definitely there

  10. I don't know how far into the game you are but you can catch a poplio underwater, next to the lighthouses after the city has been restored. There are guides on youtube you could follow (it was mudkip's event before)

If you want a trade i could help too, i guess.

  11. I dunno if you use a speed-up tool on your game, some people claim it's kind of buggy with Trading. Also, at least for me, I find it best to always restart the game before entering the trade screen.

But yeah, no problem, hope you're happy with them in the end. I believe they have some move tutor moves from their parents as well
