  1. That's great! Thank you for the hard work. Only gripe is there was no need to change item functionality... With pickup, you are swarmed with all types of repels anyway. I really hope you didn't tamper with their functionality further though, because with their use, you can catch fully evolved ultra high level pokemon, even in areas you are not supposed to encounter them yet (like A-Sandslash, Beartic and Earthquake Donphan in caves underneath Shade's gym).

I cannot help but wonder, though. Why do you constantly lower the difficulty, even in an indirect manner? Struggling for resources and micromanaging the poor in-game economy, all while having to face an increased difficulty to all other pokemon games, had always been a selling point for this game. :'(

I have a question: from what i understand the passwords won't be available for the old saves, so will there be a mod for use the HM without teach them in E19?

Methinks Waynolt's mod includes this function. If you have the badge and the HM item, you do not need an HM-slave to perform the move, it happens automatically.

  3. Kindly requested: Pretty please with sugar on top! <3

Will you think of including a small extra download, with the alternate artwork? Much like you did in the past with sprites and whatnot? Including the old models of smoking Charlotte, sticking out tongue Aya, plus old Amethyst and old Shade ones?

  4. Thanks for your hard work. And for your consideration. Allowing soft limit to still exist, is very nice (i always fight the bug Leader with a common-candied Delphox).

Why the hate for difficulty being hard, though? Many of the players, especially the older ones, found this to be the main selling point, the real bargain, about this game... Since you already added something to help monotype runners (we tested it some time ago, along with few other things at starter choice chamber), why there had to be a larger pokemon availability on top of that? If somebody keeps an eye for events, you get more than enough pokemon to do just about everything there is and cover any need for 1 on 1 or team fights; and with the fields in play, there is NO need for that one specific pokemon or type, only one knowing some certain moves! Please, reconsider! Before renovation, keep the rares rares and the denizens of a semi destroyed environment in lowered numbers and in hiding, please! This fits in with both the game environment, the aesthetics and helps with story consistency, plus the immersion itself! Don't fix what ain't broken.

RIP hard mode, i was eagerly anticipating that one ever since recent AI changes made the game extremely easy, but what matters is your priorities, workload and obviously, the completion of the game.

At least, remember to fix errors in movesets, please. There are quite a few. Or offer an external workaround (debug mode?) solution to it.

Finally, EV training was boosted some time ago and from main game generation mechanisms, if memory serves. It is already a shorter procedure than it once had been (cut in half, actually) and many people used EV training in combination with pickup teams, utilizing the farming time with item gathering. It wasn't a drag, on the contrary. Did it really have to be cut that short?

I only know this from messing around with debug mode and the poipole you get for completing the dex (which I did) but legends and baby pokemon (and some others maybe) have 3 perfect IVS guaranteed. So you'd just have to reset for the IVS to be 31 in the specific stats you want.

Canon game mechanisms (don't remember which gen brought it), involve this. Baby and Legendary/Mythical pokemon, all have 3 guaranteed perfect IVs.

I think they were on about adding similar Gen 8 rewards to the nightclub such as bottle caps which in the current main games increase an IV to maximum. Maybe this is the way to increase a pokemon's IVs in the next update rather than soft-resetting.

That would be great, if true! Bottlecaps are Gen7 though and from what i remember (older dev posts), bottlecaps were said to not be implemented, at that time at least.

  7. It sounds awesome and the work, plus skill involved, in order to offer at us a wonderful experience, is really otherwordly. B... But! What about those who want to soft reset, in order for their captured legendary to have better IVs? Since the risk has skyrocketed, would it be too greedy or sound ungrateful, if a plea for secured great IVs is also involved, as a form of reward or something?

  8. Good things happen to people with patience. Or

Bad things happen to people who do bad things against people with patience.

Everybody should be patient. Trust me, it can get you a long way and is always worth it. Rushing things jeopardizes many things, too.

  9. Great! Everyone is appreciated! Please though, do not forget to adress the movesets/movepol "issues", like certain pokemon not learning moves they should (especially from tutors). Cheers!

  10. Sad for the pause... But on the other hand, Starlight looks nice, interesting and promising, so wishing for its success would do. That and everybody suspected that, from those regulars in here; now it's merely worded and made official. Nobody from the true fans will nag; on the contrary, they will support you, cheer you up and wellwish for the project. I will plead you to not incorporate gen 8 though, because movelists and abilities change, reducing the fun factor a bit, even though that's nothing when compared against Gengar losing Levitate and many other previous nerfs, due to new generation (7) rules. Instead, i will urge you to polish up the gen 7 and correct the various issues still persisting. Especially the errors in movelists and moves learned; one readily available example, is Move tutor being unable to teach Iron Head to Mamoswine. Reborn is just about perfect, with a fully functional and well ironed out (hopefully), generation 7! Adding Meltan-Melmetal though, i won't say no to that! Cheers!

  11. Heatran for starter and Kabutops instead of Ratata, even with random moves, was pretty devastating. Quite fun, really. But as others already stated; if moves weren't random(ized), that would certainly hit the spot!

I don't think they will go that route. That would just be artificial difficulty. Reborn is a game of strategy, not a game of unfair bullshit (although the Serra battle can go frick itself). You don't need an OP mon, that you can't possibly beat due to limited resources, rather than strategy,. And no, the Garchomp battle at Mt. Pyrous doesn't count, since you're not supposed to beat it. Making that kind of stuff wouldn't be healthy for the game, and it's well known "fair difficulty".

But again, fuck Serra battle hacks.

    Sorry, Ame ^-^

Serra was easy in older epsodes. She got "buffed" post 17. Still though, she is completely unimportant. Some of her pokemon like Alola Sandslash are terrible, both stats and typing wise and her ace (frosslass) plus main tricks, are niche and situational. If for example, the evasion boost doesn't keep cutting it for frossy, it isn't hard to KO with a single move. Mirror arena also, reflects back your special attacks whenever they fail, sometimes and boosts the evasion of some of your own pokemon, also. Last but not least, a well placed Earthquake/Bulldoze at the start, shatters the damn thing completely, unless you care for friendship points that is (Serra gets angry whenever you break something in there, especially so the entire field; during her's fight, not Bennett's). Keep in mind that most important battles, don't use recovery items anymore, unless extremely rarely. Serra is one of those who "quarelled with potions", as well (thank the watered down AI for that)!

I think the inclusion of Magby and Elekid for me is not just about difficulty, but actually more about how their duo felt more... I don't know, iconic. The two Rockruffs just don't feel quite as special. . . so there's clearly some "canon" reasoning in my own thinking I guess, or nostalgia, rather.

I would rather vehemently argue Victoria receiving Emboar back though. It really, really suited her.

Or Fern's Serperior... As somebody else wrote in a thread somewhere ages ago: They were made for each other and it really did fit.
