  1. With a loud 'SHEONG' and a small light, a figure had suddenly appeared. To those in the ballroom (or in general), it must've looked like a small child in an overly elaborate Halloween wizard costume. Then, in an adult male's voice, he spoke thusly:

    "Wh-where am I? This i-isn't Horizon..."

He looked around the area, and a look of confusion grew on his mostly-obscured face. "...A ballroom? Whose home is this?" Soon after, he noticed the smoke coming out of a nearby door and filling the room, which he soon followed out of mild concern, mumbling nonsense along the way before entering the kitchen. "Hello? It appears that I had some rare mishap in the aether while warping to Horizon. Do you know where this is?" He payed very little visible attention to the burning state of the room.

  2. Cicivexa 2.0: A Sheet Reborn 2.2: Through the Scalefall

Cicivexa 1.0 (before the AP Buff)

     Spoiler

    Name: Cicivexa Vivivexa
    Age: 24
    Gender/Sex: Male
    Race: Lalafell

    Appearance:

    Spoiler

Cicivexa possesses the stature of a pudgy child, about 97 cm tall, and could easily pass for one if his large, tapered ears didn't extend perpendicularly from the sides of his head. Of course, his male adult voice would also get in the way. Though his skin is rather fair, his empty blue eyes betray him as a Dunesfolk, which, due to being protected from the sun by a thin membrane, possess a glossy, glass-like appearance. He has medium-length dirty blonde hair, not particularly well-kept, he has sky blue markings under his eyes, and wears intricate red face paintings, similar to tribal markings (these, in fact, have no real root in his culture, and are simply of his own design). He has two silver earrings on his left ear, and a small, teardrop-shaped orb of similar color is pierced into his forehead. Of course, hardly any of this can be seen. His heavily concealing outfit consists mostly of black leather, with most of his body covered by a very large coat bound by a purple sash around the waist and possessing a very high collar. A very large, brimmed wizard's hat also aids in concealing his face. Also present are gloves, upwards-pointed boots, and loose black pants caught at the ankle.

    Level: 5
    HP: 70
    Init: 0 (+6)

    Stats: 30
    Constitution: 8
    Dexterity: 0
    Intelligence: 12
    Strength: 0
    Synergy: 10

    Perks:

rjck6Oj.png Astral Cycle: Cicivexa can tap into the aetheric cycle that that defined the dynasties of his homeland. Whenever he casts a Fire Spell, he gains the Astra effect for one turn, boosting the damage of his next Fire Spell by 10%. This damage boost does not stack with itself. Whenever he casts a Blizzard Spell, he gains the Umbra effect for 3 turns, enabling the ability to cast certain spells, frequently Fire Spells.

LQ3xCXb.png Offbeat: Certain spells have the "Offbeat" tag. Cicivexa can cast one Offbeat spell per turn, and doing so does not use an action. He cannot cast an Offbeat spell the turn after he has cast one.

L55nstA.png Firestarter: All attacks have a critical chance equal to INT*2%, dealing 2x damage on a critical hit.

Rbf0jJR.png Enhanced Black Magic: All attacks that scale off of some amount of INT scale off of the same amount of SYN. For example, if an attack deals INT/2 damage on its own, it now deals INT/2+SYN/2 damage. The -50% penalty to buffs on AOE spells still applies. Does not apply to non-damage effects.

    Flaw:

KqeM8R3.png Enochian: If neither Astra nor Umbra was active in the previous two turns, -50% damage dealt.

Actions: 18/18 points spent, 5/7 slots used

zPIs7BZ.png Blizzard (Level 1): Deals WD*0.75 ice damage, and also deals INT Initiative Reduction.  Is a Blizzard spell

jQYfqtJ.png Fire Bolt (Level 5): Deals WD+5d6 fire damage. Is a Fire Spell. Can only be cast while under Umbra
Level 1: Deals weapon damage +1d6.
    Level 2: Added +1d6 damage.
    Level 3: Added +1d6 damage.
    Level 4: Added +1d6 damage.
    Level 5: Added +1d6 damage.

zusqOnb.png Fire Blast (Level 5): Deals WD fire damage to 4 different targets. Is a Fire Spell. Can only be cast while under Umbra
Level 1: WD/2 damage to 2 different targets.
Level 2: Increased to WD*0.75 damage.
Level 3: Increased to full Weapon damage.
Level 4: Increased to 3 different targets.
Level 5: Increased to 4 different targets.

1SpKtNI.png Swiftcast (Level 1): Offbeat, Cooldown of 4 turns. Replicates the effect of any non-offbeat skill Cicivexa knows. The cooldown cannot be decreased via leveling.

mtIocJY.png Manaward (Level 1): Offbeat, once per encounter. All incoming damage is reduced by 50% for 3 turns. This reduction occurs before other sources of reduction.

Equipment: 10/10 tokens spent, 0 left
Stardust Rod Zenith (Level 5): Casts the Scathe spell, dealing 5d4+INT (+SYN due to Enhanced Black Magic) non-elemental damage. "A long, black rod adorned with a comet-shaped crystal sculpture on top, this is a restoration of one of many enchanted rods over a millenium old; originally forged by Death's Handmaiden herself from a fallen Meteor. Emanates dark power when wielded."
Base: Sanguine Scepter. 1d4+INT (+SYN due to Enhanced Black Magic) damage. "Forged from darksteel, with a small, blood-red stone in the head."

Craft Level: Materia-Infused Sanguine Scepter. +1d4 damage. "Two red materia have been grafted into it."

Craft Level: Incomplete Stardust Rod. +1d4 damage. "The scepter has been used as a vessel with which to repair this ancient Mhachi relic, but something appears to be missing."

Craft Level: Stardust Rod. +1d4 damage. "Proper materials and further improvements in the forge have finally perfected this restoration."
Craft Level: Stardust Rod Zenith. +1d4 damage. "Infused with the Thavnairian Mist elixir, because really, is there such a thing as perfection?"

Felt Sash (Level 2): Increases initiative by 6. "Weaved with aether crystals, worn around the waist."
    Base: +3 Initiative.
Craft Level: Woven with silk thread. +3 Initiative.

Toa Heartlight: +2 Damage Reduction, +2 INT, 5% MHP damage every turn without Mask.

          |-> Mask of Power: Prevents heartlight's damage over time.

Rod of Purging: A short magical rod that seems to burn with an intense heat. When used as a weapon, deals (x+1)d12+INT (+SYN due to Enhanced Black Magic) or SYN damage, where x is the number of non-stacked debuffs on the target. Removes said debuffs on-hit. Can target allies, in which case it will deal (xd4) damage instead.

     Miscellaneous Inventory:

    Spoiler

    Tricks:

Desert Sight (level 0): Cicivexa's race and ethnicity hail from the deserts of Thanalan, and as such, have developed thin films over their eyes to protect from the sun's harsh rays, giving them a glossy look. This has no effect on gameplay as of now.

Black Gaze (level 0): As a free action, Cicivexa can project a shadow over his face while causing his eyes to glow yellow. This can also be dismissed as a free action. This has no effect on gameplay as of now.

Aetheric Teleportation (level 0): A form of teleportation reliant on Aetherytes, none of which will likely be encountered in the course of this game. My explanation is way too long for something that has no effect on gameplay as of now.

    Items:

Soul of the Black Mage: A Soul Crystal. Holds the accumulated aetheric knowledge of Black Mages prior, etched into its many facets. This specimen, the Soul of Shatotto, is said to only be granted to those blessed by the twin god, Nald'Thal. Worn close to the skin. Does absolutely nothing mechanically for the purposes of this game, but is nonetheless bound. (If by some sadistic circumstance he were to be without a Soul of the Black Mage, then casting spells without the Enochian debuff would cause him to take the damage he deals in return.)

A set of clothing (see Appearance for description), a heavy gil purse, a map of Eorzea, rations, various potions, ethers, and curatives (all of which are expired and have lost their potency), a journal, a feather pen and ink bottle, a sewing needle w/ red thread

  3. bH6ZafP.png

"Perhaps another day, Anea. For now, a war is on the horizon, and there's no doubt we'll find action yet. Besides..." He stopped to check if Elizabeth was nearby, before lowering his tone this time. "That Paxi invasion can't be a coincidence. Right on the day our covert search reached its destination, a foreign enemy invades the very same town. We aren't out of the woods just yet, and if they pursue us, we need to be in fine form."

Of course, saying this, he realized that this also meant he would be spending plenty more time with his comrades than he anticipated moments ago. Surely, understanding how not to get on your contemporaries' bad sides would be incredibly helpful, both now and in future practice. His sister always advised him on this, but no matter the subject, he always hated to admit how right she always was.

  4. Marl was in the berthing below, studying the manuscripts and histories Leslie lent him, when he heard Johan's boorish remark reverberating through the timbers. There was little in the world Marl had experienced that could knock him out of his studying trance (and not from lack of trying on his sister's part). It looks like especially boisterous skalds are next on the list, if she finds out about this.

    YZeIfn0.png

Judging about the remark about the tome, the Bergmensch was most certainly talking to one of the dedicated spellcasters rather than him (perhaps Aidan, though that light mage looked studious herself), yet it still carried a hefty, vulgar weight to it upon first hearing. What does that matter? Once I've made the history books and rise in the ranks, I may never see these people ever again, more so once I inherit the barony. But honing my mind is of paramount importance to my success. Besides, it's not as if he has joined our squad. The commander told them that they were free to go wheresoever they please once we reach Opus, so unless Pax intercepts us, I don't think we'll fight together again.

    PumCh27.png

Though I wouldn't mind hearing him sing again, so long as it isn't to drag me from my studies. ...Actually, perhaps I can take a break. Besides, I've read most of these at the estate, and one can only reinforce so much at a time before it starts to have no effect. I should probably move onto today's combat practice. Marl then returned to the deck for the first time since he had gotten onto the ship (he having been studying from then until now, only stopping for sleep and meals brought down to him), nailed a board with a target he drew on it to the mast, and fired at it with his practice bow.

  5. Sir Marl Denuvic, son of Lord Baron Matthias Denuvic, will promote to Archer, and put his 5% growth into Speed. He also takes Recurve as his C-rank Bow proficiency.

Some alterations will be made to his Personal Flaw and Trainee Personal Skill, so that they exist in gameplay.

Personal Flaw: Coursing River: -10 Hit/Eva when Marl doesn't move during his turn.

Personal Skill: Great Typhoon: +10 Crit on a second strike.

  6. 2ZUOlRS.png

The real shame is that we were unable to do anything for the rest of the town. Even if we somehow had any sort of chance to push Pax out, doing so would have meant letting the girl slip between our fingers.

He then let out a sigh, before marching to N-16

    ULjCqnQ.png

Oh well. I'll have plenty more opportunities to earn glory if this is shaping up the way I think it is.

  7. DQHw1R3.png

"Hear me! If any of you invaders wish to desert now, know that we will not pursue you."

Of course, there's no way any of them would desert now. Though we won't pursue, Pax certainly will. But I may as well give them the option, as it would certainly make this go faster. Besides...

He then returned his gaze to the charred, mutilated corpse of the wounded swordsman he just ended.

    YZeIfn0.png

Executing weaklings who can barely put up a fight just isn't the Denuvic style, so if the more cowardly ranks disperse, my skills can be put to proper use.

  8. Marl stood annoyed at the lack of a response from the merchant.

    YZeIfn0.png

Well, if she's not going to respond, she must not have heard me. I guess I'll just wait for her to come out before reminding her.

Put Swordsman D out of his misery

  9. A smooth move, Commander. The job will be a lot easier without the girl worrying about people after her. I shouldn't have raised her suspicions in the first place. I could have jeopardized the mission then and there if she were more impulsive, and that wouldn't leave a very good reputation for me among the army.

Marl made note of Commander Sorea's strategic dismissal before turning to the blonde merchant.

    bH6ZafP.png

"...You are getting all of your supplies, yes? I understand if you're tempted to leave behind the less crucial pleasantries, but if we're going to be traveling together, then I'm at least expecting some books."

Marl to O-11, fire at Marine B

  10. Marl walked to N-8, towards the teal-haired civilian, to get a better look at her.

    ULjCqnQ.png

"Commander Sorea, is this the 'Elizabeth' girl you said we were here for? She seems to match your description of her."

  11. The ecstatic Marl held his bow outward in a victory pose, projecting as much pride as he could.

    kNqOD2x.png

"Oh ho ho ho! It seems you now know the true power of Sir Marl, son of Lord Baron Matthias Denuvic, and heir to the Denuvic barony and household! Be sure not to forget that as you run away, lest I make sure it's your last thought! You hear me?!"

He continued to gesture and posture victoriously, as if he wanted the whole world to know it. Of course, that's because he did.

The newly NPC-ified Tsidin attacks Spearman C

  12. 2ZUOlRS.png

Alright, it's my time to shine. I better not screw this up...

Marl rushed to I-7 and put his pet project to the test, doing his best to hide his weakness. He closed his eyes and gestured in the air, similar to what he did when he was studying Aidan's tome, but more rounded. With any luck, a proper sigil would come out of it. He then drew an arrow through where the sigil would be and nocked it before opening his eyes and firing at the cultist.

If Marl defeats Cultist B, Winston to K-7, lance Archer B

  13. I'm interested in this proposition. The current times would work for me if it's on friday afternoons. I have no experience with DMing, but I'm willing to learn how if nobody else will step forward. I don't really like voice chat, however, so if a text-only game wouldn't be too fun, then you don't need me with you to hold you down.

  14. Of course, after hearing Aidan's assertions, Marl didn't want to be outdone, despite still being in pain.

    kNqOD2x.png

"I also have my own 'pet project' I've been working on, as I'm sure Anea can attest to. That one's gonna be a surprise, though."

    ULjCqnQ.png

"Speaking of, after she's done healing me, I'd like to borrow your tome again. As you said, pain and boredom both oppose happiness."

  15. As Anea healed him, Marl managed to get back up to his feet.

    kNqOD2x.png

"Thanks, Anea. No need to worry about it too much, th-", he managed to say, before stumbling from the remaining pain in his leg. "No really, I'm still okay. No need to worry."

Prior to the actions of Alwine, Winston, Aidan, and Lysander, Marl to M-11, fire at Axeman D
