  1. I second Mega Absol as the mega. It fits Alice's colour scheme well.

As I said, I'm pretty sure it doesn't count in this case. If Palossand was sent out after the Solrock was KO'd, it took Stealth Rock damage before Turn 2.

So what you're saying is, when the Palossand comes in and takes SR damage, that's in turn 1? Or that a fresh mon coming in and taking damage is not considered part of the turn that follows?

Thanks. Learned something new. I couldn't find a detailed explanation like the one you gave here on any of the pokemon websites or forums.

Did he send out the Palossand after his previous mon was KO'd, or did he switch it in? It would count as having taken damage 'this' turn only if it's the latter, I think

As I said in my OP, the SR damage and the Assurance attack happened on the same turn. I had knocked out his Solrock in the previous turn.

Turn 1: I knock out his Solrock with my Murkrow

Turn 2: He sends Palossand in, takes SR damage, takes the Assurance hit. But Assurance BP is 60.

If it's a one-off battle error, then it shouldn't be a issue. But if it's an error with how Assurance works, then I will have a lot of trouble with my Murkrow/Honchkrow.

Hi, always post the battle logs (I believe you can find them in your save folder) with these sort of reports as sometimes speedup hides the super effective messages and the devs can identify what happened

Sorry, I'm only seeing this reply now (don't know why I didn't get a notification).

I am way past that point in the game now. Can I still get the battle log file? Either way, I wasn't using speed up, and the damage itself was paltry (it's a STAB super-effective 80 BP move and the Roselia doesn't hold an eviolite or any other item, my Numel did not have a stat drop etc.).

  5. I was battling one of the Meteor Knights (named Rod I think) in the Tanzan Meteor base.

I had my Murkrow out and Stealth Rock up. He sent out a Palossand and it took SR damage. In the same turn, I used Assurance on it and it did not take much damage. It was as if Assurance had a BP of 60 when it supposed to have a BP of 120 since Palossand took SR damage. I verified this by using Assurance in the next turn.

I do not know if this error is specific to that battle/field or if Assurance in general does not power up due to SR in Reborn. Either way, it's an error IMO.

Half of my team is in overused; amazing!

    1. Blaziken was my most common sweeper. Holding the wide lens, high jump kick and blaze kick almost never miss. There is space for additional coverage and for excellent plays using baton pass.
    2. Gardevoir was the of course the special sweeper. Once mega evolved it never stopped. On many occasions I used it to set up screens instead of wrecking havoc.
    3. Aegislash was a perfect all rounder. The stat drop from king's shield saved my butt many times.
    4. Tyrantrum was probably the 'weakest' member of this team, consistently getting ohKO'ed. However, its move pool is amazing even more so when all the fangs are accounted for
    5. Golissopod is probably the MVP of the run. The number of pokemon that fell to first impression is immeasurable. The only downside is that the only water move of the team was stuck behind a slow pokemon that would switch out if its health dropped to 50%.
    6. Toucanon was the biggest surprise. I trained it as a defensive wall, counting on its abillity to do damage. Never in my life did I think I would be counting on bullet seed to do heavy damage.

What did you use to create this layout?

  7. I did not find it difficult to find Bonsly pre-restoration. It could be found in the Obsidia park. Not sure about post-restoration. As Dred suggested, breeding Sudowoodo may be easier. You can try having a bug type or a flying type as your first mon when you're hunting.

  8. I encountered this error during the battle against Fern in the Onyx school.

    • There is no field active in this battle.
    • My Numel was out against his Roselia.
    • I attacked it with Lava Plume.
    • Numel was holding a Quick Claw and it activated.
    • Lava Plume hit Roselia for neutral damage and there was no message saying it was super-effective.
  9. I just started a new game (my first time playing E19) and I noticed that I am not able to run using any of the run control keys. My game is unmodded and tried starting a fresh game without any passwords. I am still getting the same issue. I am able to observe the issue as soon as I arrive at Peridot.

    Can someone please help? Thanks.

  10. Hello,

I do not like the default font type used and would like to change it. So how do I change the font in Pokemon Reborn? For instance, if I want to use a common font type like Arial or Calibri what should I do?

  11. I know that feeling.

But one thing I have observed (others may disagree) is that how you soft reset affects the RNG. This means that the probabilities get affected. So make sure you don't soft reset the exact same way every time. The same applies for wild encounters and other RNG based events.

    • Haxorus: Shadow Claw isn't worth it IMO. Brick Break or Earthquake given much better coverage.
    • Ferrothorn: Payback doesn't seem very useful. I'd recommend Stealth Rock/Spikes/Leech Seed/Knock Off/Thunder Wave.
    • Ampharos: I feel that Speed EVs are wasted on it unless you want to run Agility (perhaps over Signal Beam). Alternatively, you can remove the Speed EVs and put them in HP/DEF/SP DEF to tank hits.
    • Aerodactyl: Perhaps Aqua Tail or Earthquake over Iron Head depending on the match up.
    • Mamoswine: Apart from Earthquake, this set doesn't make sense to me. It is a maxed out Physical attacker, so you should give it good physical moves. Icicle Crash/Ice Shard/Stone Edge/Rock Slide/Knock Off/Iron Head/Superpower. Thrash isn't very helpful either IMO.
    • Togekiss: Dazzling Gleam is a must. If you want Psychic, you can swap it with Ancient Power.
    • Camerupt: I don't see the point of the 84 SPEED EVs. Much better to put them in any of the other stats.
