Should be easy for you when you face him. Poison can't touch Steel. Haha. :P

Tomorrow morning i'll update with the second and third gym.. But i guess you're right, it should be easy... You with your ground type should be easy too! I hope you post about it!

Agislash isn't really a glass canon at all.  In those terms, it is usually a Mighty Glacier (Everything high but speed) or a specialized tank.  In shield mode, it has sky high defenses while it sword mode it abandons that for attack.  It's slowness is usually used to it's advantage via gyro ball, while it relies on Shadow Sneak (priority STAB) to take down weaken opponents before they can attack and King's Sheild (priotriy shield) to defend itself with the bonus of lowering an opponents physical attacks.   Trust me, it can one-shot things, but don't try to invest in speed or you are just setting yourself up for disappointment.  Using Agislash relies somewhat on predicting your opponents moves and counterattacking: usually Block, Counter, Block.  It might not fit your glass canon style, but Steel is mostly about defense:  the only really speedy attackers and Sizor and Bisharp (and Mettagross and Jolly Exadrill I suppose).

    Anyway, good luck.

Oh, and BTW, what level would be the best to lvl up to Aegislash?

You're very right, it's not my style at all, maybe Lucario is ... As for the others not really, which is something i like, If i don't try another styles i will be stuck forever with just one, I wanna be more versatile! And thanks for the wishes! :D

  4. Alright, so as i promised, one of the 2 mono runs i'll be doing it's the steel type, since i'm still waiting for the dragons i want to (Apparentely i'll get them by Monday, but who knows?) I started my steel run today, i chose the Pokémon i was going to use with Sandbox, then transfered it to Reborn and i started!

    The team:

    Spoiler

Had kind of a hard time choosing some of them, but i had it clear for most of them:

Piplup was the one i started with, since it becomes a Steel type, but to be honest, i dropped it quickly, i lost both Cain and Victoria battles, and i hated that penguin since pretty much released, so i decided to not use it, and have Riolu as a symbolic starter.

    Riolu:

    Male, Hasty nature, Inner Focus

Probably one of the best Pokémon i ever had, you see, since i pretty much chose all my team, i decided to stick with the randomized Pokémon i would get with Riolu, and i came out to be amazing, Hasty nature is a lovely thing, and it has 3 31 IVs, 2 29 IVs and 1 23 IV... I know it's not the best ever, but since i never cared about IVs, it might be the best one i ever had when it comes to that... A great starter.

    Honedge:

Female (How it comes that sword can get a gender?) Gentle nature, No Guard

One of my huge doubts, i didn't know if Honedge would be able to fulfill what i want, cause sure it can become a glass cannon, thing i love in Pokémon and games in general, but every glass cannon needs something Honedge and it's evolutions doesn't have, and that is speed... Still doubts on it, but will do for now.

    Beldum:
    Serious nature, Light Metal

The only one i decided to be shiny, since at least for myself, the shiny form is the most Reborn thing ever, at least Metagross is, so it's kind of like a tribute to this game, community and everything that gave me so much fun.

    Skarmory:

    Male, Naive nature, Sturdy

The bird one, not really that much to say about it, not horrible, not amazing, it's just there, and it helps when i need some flying moves.

    Drilbur:

    Male, Lonely nature, Mold Breaker

Another strike of luck, even his IVs aren't the best, the nature and the ability cerntainly are, very happy with it and very important in the early game

    Magnezone:

    Serious, Sturdy

This one i feel guilty using it, so i use it as less i can, i decided to add it to the team cause right now it's pretty much in very last of the game (E16) that i can get a Magneton into a Magnezone, so i just did this

    Scizor and Pawniard in rotation

So the adveture begins, till the guys could learn anything slighty good, i struggled quite a bit with the first encounters, Honedge with Fury Cutter did good against Fern (I'll give that one to it) Riolu did the rest, trying my best to not make him faint cause of friendship.

Team Meteor event was kind of tough, cause i wanted to level them all equally, and some of them were really hard to balance with the others (LOOKING A YOU BELDUM AND DRILBUR) and after a few re-tries with Eclipse and Aster i managed it out (I just needed to hit like 16510684 times Magby with Mud Slap, so Elekid won't be that big of a deal)

And after that, the gym, i had to do some lvling so everybody was 15-16 before this

I couldn't pass the Emolga on the first try, everything didn't seem to work, the lead on my team was Drilbur, he could take care of Helioptile kind of easy, but eventually i ran out of mud-slaps, so it worked only that much .. I lost of course

On the second try, everything changed... I was going to the gym again when i realized how dumb i am: Helioptile is not only Electric, It's Normal too... I guess i don't need to say who was in the lead the second time...

After Riolu knocked Helioptile with 1 Force Palm, Emolga was next, and the only viable option was Magnezone with Sonic Boom, he did the trick... Then Honedge and Beldum took care of the Voltorbs, Skarmory being pretty much useless, since it was too slow for this, it got knocked out really easy against the Voltorbs, who costed me 3 knockouts total all thank to the Aftermath, at this point i had Drilbur, Riolu and Magnezone left, against her Blitze and Electrode, no big deal... Right?

Drilbur went against Blitze, he count take care of it, taking some hits, of course, then the Electrode came, i didn't switch, hoping for the best... It didn't happen.. Electrode Sonic-Boomed and knocked out Drilbur... Now i have a hurt Magnezone and a Riolu

Magnezone took over and managed to Sonic Boom the Electrode once before fainting with the same move

Now my symbolic starter, Riolu, against the Electrode, things didn't look too good, Electrode was faster and Riolu doens't have alot of health, even tho he was full, plus Electrode could deffinitely take 2 of Riolu's hits... Looks like it's over

Riolu did a Force Palm after being hit with the Sonic Boom, taking a little more than half it's HP... And the miracle happened, Force Palm was a crit and Electrode was with almost no HP left

Last turn, all or nothing, Riolu still had its Quick Attack, if we don't fail we can get our first badge, if we fail it, we'll lose again, we don't want that, do we?

We gave it a try, the Quick Attack was selected, and when it had to strike ... It did... Electrode fainted, Riolu barely resisted the Aftermath and with that, we took it, we took the first Gym Badge and called it a day... Since it's almost night, i want Riolu to evolve tomorrow so we can get stronger to challenge the next events in our paths...

I'm loving this run so far, doing mono-runs makes me feel more immersed, like i came to Reborn with my own team, starting a new adventure that pretty much stepped in our way...

I'll update what happens tomorrow, with Meteor and the next badge. Thank you to the ones who helped me getting started with this mono-run, see you all in the next one!

Since Reborn Sandox is a complely different save file and launcher, you could just open both Reborn and Sandbox and trade with yourself.....problably.  It works for Reborn and Reborn Hardcore

    Just now, Zarc said:

Yes , you can open your two games on the same time and just trade

I don't know how that is done... Can't just i... Idk.. Create the save file on Sandbox and transfer it into the Reborn? Will it work?

  6. 6 minutes ago, LykosHand said:

I agree with Zarc, you can always trade them in your main saved file.

    8 minutes ago, Zarc said:

It's a different save file from reborn , if you want to keep them you can always trade them on your main game

I have no idea how that works, you see, i tend to just play the game and that's it, now that i'm "bending" the game a little bit i'm starting to learn many new things!

  7. 6 minutes ago, Zarc said:

You can ask me , i will give it to you :) , or you can directly dl the sandbox mode to get all of your pokemons directly

    2 minutes ago, LykosHand said:

Oh right, the Sandbox mode is a very solution.

The thing about sandbox is that i don't get to keep them when another episode comes out, right?

You have a good selection of mons for your Steel Mono Run.

    5 minutes ago, Zarc said:

you can always have 2-3 more pokemons on your boxes to switch in case

Should i ask for them on the request a mon topic or should i ask people to help me get some of them?

    7 minutes ago, seki108 said:

As long as your opponent is not a special attacker, you should be able to easily cut their power with kings shield.  Of course, I run a more defense-invested set that can tank, even though it's purpose is to attack.  It has a priority STAB move in Shadow Sneak and it's slow speed can make Gyro Ball deadly.

Then again, I'm a bigger fan of Bisharp than Smogon Sword, although Bisharp has a 4 times weakness...........

Sizor is good too, I gues

That scares me.. I don't think i'm ready for an Aegilash D:

I suggest you Steel Mono Run; and i advice you some mons

    - Magnezone

    - Excadrill or Aggron

    - Skarmory

    - Lucario

    - Aegislash

    - Metagross

P.S. if you want i have a Magnezone but his lvl is 61

    8 minutes ago, Zarc said:

    Metagross , magnezone , exadrill , lucario , aegilash , empoleon

Aegilash? I was thinking pretty much the same thing as you both, But Aegilash seems to be pretty unrealiable, i mean, it's really strong but it's not fast enough to deal with damage received... I was thinking something like a Bisharp... Or idk...

i'd say steel, fairy or psychic

    I third (?) steel.

    7 minutes ago, Zarc said:

go steel , there is currently nobody doing this

Alright, steel will be! I will hate to start with Piplup, but i'll give it a go! Now, as far as i know, there are not that many early game steel Pokémon, am i right?

  11. Hey there guys! Recently i asked some dragons for a dragon run, apparentely i'll get them by Monday! But i can't have a single run at the time, that's just not me! So what other mono-run do you guys recommend? I'm very interested in Psyquic/Steel/Dark and maybe fighting.. Any ideas? And if so, any advices on how to make the team?

    tnx for the advice sir

If it is a VS i guess Weavile would win, cause it's faster and well, It's ice... As for "Who is better for my team" It's like the other comment, it depends on what you need most on your team, if we talk about stats Hydreigon is better, Weavile is that glass cannon thing i LOVE <3.. And Hydreigon is a dragon, my favourite type <3... Dang, now i can't decide myself... I guess i would go for Hydreigon, for the moveset it can learn without TMs.

I love Type: Null and Silvally, both design-wise and because of the reason behind their existence

Type: Null and Silvally are awesome! I remember people were suggesting he was made with the starters parts... Guess they were wrong!

I've never played the games so I can't speak about this competitively but...

    1. Alolan Exeggutor is great. Who can resist that long sexy neck.

    2. Alolan Ninetales looks good and seems like a really well rounded pokemon in terms of stats and ability.

As for Alolan forms my favourite is Marowak, and i've heard Alolan Marowak is awesome for competitive.

Ah, makes sense.  Usually I don't include legendaries/mysticals, but I had to in this case.  I really had trouble remembering a good many of the gen 7 mons.

Good old Puka.....a lot of people made the comparison, so don't feel bad.

Just don't come at me with Hydregon that isn't scarffed or the new psudo, with their whole 4x's weakness and all.

Funny thing is that one of the reasons i like glass cannons in Pokémon is for Reborn itself... Most of the times i'll find a Pokémon that will attack first for some weird reason (That freaking Anorith in the bug gym) and in general, you KO in 1 hit on they KO you in 1 hit, at least for my experience... So that's why i go with that style, destroy as fast as possible, or be destroyed the same way.

If you don't mind a top 5 (it seems these things default to that for me).  I've never played the games, so some of this might not be accurate and I certainly don't remember a fair amount of them.

      Hide contents

    5) Golisopod-  An awesome bug type, which I've just really come to appreciate.  A combination of power and an easy way to abuse it's (base 90 power priority move), though it probably should be bulkier to use this strategy.  Bonus points for good design and belonging to your boy, Guzma

    4) Alolan Raichu---While I've never been a fan of the Pikachu line, I've liked the surfing concept for them.  Combine that with good typing and pancake theme and we've got a Pokemon I like.

    3) Pheromosa--Automatically drawn to it because of it's odd design and early theories that it was tied (an alternate form) for Lusimine (like early speculation Lillie was the jellyfish UB).  Also strong Ragyou Kirurin vibes, reinforced by it's distaste at being touched.  I'm surprised this isn't one of your favorites @Vhandrake, since it is purely a glass canon that got shot up to Ubers.

    2) Mimikyu--With Fairy being my favorite type since Gen 6 (sorry Fire and Psychic), of course this little one would be one here.  Solid typing, adorable design, videos of many people getting their ass handed to them by Totem Mimikyu, and backstory hammered down by Nintendo though music.

    1) Primarina--My new favorite starter because I'm now biased to Fairy types, and probably just to get on the opposite end from Incinaroar, which I'm still disappointed in.  My favorite starter type since Gen 5 combined with majestic design helped this along, which was furthered by the backlash some had toward the pre-evolution's design (I seem to enjoy going against the grain).  I might not know first had how Primarina does in combat, but I haven't heard many bad things about it.

That is an awesome Top 5, since alolan Raichu with the surfing theme was announced i thought that the Pikachu with blue eyes we saw in the first season, if i'm not wrong, was some sort of pre-alolan Raichu, but i was wrong...

As for fairy type being your favourite, THAT'S TOO BAD CAUSE MY FAVOURITE IS DRAGON -.- (Even tho i love the fairy legendary, Xerneas)

I like Pheromosa, not alot with it's types, also i didn't try to add the beasts or the legendaries, otherwise Solgaleo would be there on the top 3 for sure!

New Type? I think you might be getting confused with Uranium and its nuclear type. Rejuvenation has shadow pokemon, but they can't be leveled til they're purified into normal pokemon, and I personally find them quite weak and annoying to use in shadow form.

    Here's the thread for rejuvenation:

Oh, i thought that "Shadow" Pokémon were a new type.. That's what i get for not trying it for myself and just reading stuff about it.

  18. 1 minute ago, DreamblitzX said:

Yes, this is for Rejuvenation, which is really good.

I wanted to try it for quite a while now... The new type is pretty much the only thing that is keeping me back, from what i read it's a bit OP.
