I chose a chimchar as my starter (early into the game as of right now) and I'm wondering if it would be weird to switch my chimchar with a magby whenever i get a magby in the game (i saw it was available) i love magmortar, as it is my 4th favorite mon, so idk what to do

I wonder why would you think it's weird to switch your starter pokemon with your favorite pokemon.

    I mean...

Since I myself trashed my own Greninja after 2nd gym for a goldeen, it's not weird to switch out your starter at early game.

  2. Hmm, the upper one looks more colorful with those brown and bright white. The lower one looks like its simple version and I prefer this one.

I can't do color coordination, but maybe brown looks out of color in blue-white-black combination.

I picked infernape but I think zubat will do nicely. I was thinking vaporeon for my water and maybe getting chikorita from the event for some light screen/reflect action.

Eevee is still 2 gym away from Shade though. But if it's for future investment, get a Budew and salon it everyday until it evolves, then wait until you can reach Azurine Island and get Shiny Stone to evo it. It has good special attack and def with nice speed for your grass slot.

Looking for a good flying, grass and water pokemonto get before shade gym leader.

    Uh... flying.

Unless you have charizard, I honestly don't think there's good flying before Shade's gym, since Zubat still out of reach.

The best grass pokemon is the starter...

I have recommendation for water though! Seaking is pretty great!

Also, collect stickers until you can buy power things in department store to train your pokemon's EV. It helps a lot in battle.

@Arys I only assumed because while Reborn is Gen 3 design wise, it’s not a very tutorial-esque of a game and so many has changed since Gen 3 apart from the wide-range added mons in the Pokedex that can maybe overwhelm the players who are only going back to Pokemon now. I apologize for my assumption.

Don't apologize. I just curious why you'd think that way.

It's true that this game does not provide tutorial (except the controls). But IIRC pokemon's tutorial only tells you how to catch pokemon, use things (pokedex, shoes, and maybe phone) and buy things from pokemart. It's extremely basic.

Oh wow that’s actually MORE than a while. Why don’t you try playing the main games first? You’ve missed out on a lot. Reborn might be a big culture shock to you.

I wonder why would you think of that. Reborn is using 3rd gen sprites and I, whose latest pokemon game is ruby, isn't that shocked.

I just had a hard time remembering new names before I start picking out names on them myself.

And @Grigorios, you might have hard time in gym battles because there's a lot of fields and things you need to know before beat them. Don't worry, it's part of the journey.

  6. You might want a flying pokemon with Gust like Pidove to get rid of the field then use Ground moves or other types. I don't think his gym is that hard. Use healings if needed.

Grimer/Muk is pretty good against him too.

  7. I've been using this name ever since I played Japanese mobile game Road To Dragon. Arys is a hero who makes contract to Holy Sword who tried to possess him.

There's a lot of nice hero with good names in RtD but this name stucks on me because it's a bit homophone with Alice.

  8. Yes but it's quite high levelled. But the only skill you might want from Nidorino is poison jab (43) and toxic spike (35). You can always breed them later since you can get Moon stone easily later on.

  9. I think we should rate fangames and official games differently. But I really should give upper hands to original one because without them, pokedex will only have 100+ entry. Graphic wise they're definitely better (though I would love to have speed alt like in fan games). Gameplay wise, they're more casual so everyone can enjoy it but you can go to competitive if you want.

But fangames doesn't lose in creativity and stories they have. Such as in Reborn, I really like their fields and level cap system. But Reborn sometimes is too hardcore for me. Doesn't mean I don't enjoy it though.
