Heal Block is undisputable in this fight. You need it so you don't need anymore to pp stall to death Bronzong and Bastiodon which have both Rest/Sleep Talk and can't touch you.

    Heal Block

    Will o Wisp

    Shadow Ball/Swords Dance

    Dig

Dig in order to have a super effective move against Steel type, Shadow Ball because it is physical anyway on the Glitch Field and is stronger than Shadow Claw. Whatever you won't have to use this move, plus Steel resists to Ghost, so you can go for Swords Dance as well instead.

you only need to stall bastiodon because of its crest (if you hit it you take damage, and a 1hp pokemon shouldnt take damage :P). Bronzong was down after 2-3 attacks.

  2. You can cheese this fight with just one pokemon!

    Spoiler

    Shedinja
    Synthetic Seed

    Swords Dance
    X-scissor
    Shadow Claw
    Will-o-wisp

The synthetic seed makes it immune to any attacking move whatsoever combined with wonder guard.
You only have to be careful of bastiodon because of its crest -DONT ATTACK IT- . Only go for willowisp and swords dance till it runs out of pp for rest and faints to burn damage. You'll need a couple of leppa berries or ethers etc fot this to work.

so I've nvr done breeding before just slapped ditto with a mon but every time i try the daycare they say they dont get along tried to do gardevoir with gourgeist \machamp too but nothing im lost so am i doin something wrong that ditto cant breed with anything or what?

That's the standard message you get for mons of different species. You'll still get eggs , you just gotta walk more because the chances of getting one are a little lower.
PS: as long as you don't get a message that goes sth like " your pokemon prefer to play with other pokemon rather than each other" you're fine.

  4. Both are good. Personally I prefer Moxie, but If you don't plan on breeding Dragon Dance into it, and keeping your Scaggy as is, then Intimidate might be the better option.

EDIT: i highly recommend you breed Dragon Dance and Drain Punch to your scraggy though

  5. 1.By beating 5 elite trainers you trigger an event that ultimately gets you a Deino egg.
2.Atm there's no purpose for them.
    3. I remember how get the vendor that gets you heat rocks etc. and the one with ultra balls from north celia. I definetely have the one that has choice items but can;t recall how to get him. Are you sure you don't just pay with credits to get him?
4.No clue, I have the same problems, never seem to remember which key is which.
5.I think it's the begining of a sidequest, for me that whole building is blocked off now. Look around for Bill(?) in Blackview.
    6. Yes, still unlockable.

  6. Not exactly a mechanic, but maybe something akin to combo moves. Kinda like how the pledge moves work with each other, For example  in a double battle selecting Thunder for one of your mons and hurricane for another, would produce a different effect or attack alltogether. You could also take into account the move your opponent used.

In the pokemon anime trainers don't just call the moves, they give some instructions as well. Like "dodge the attack" or "hang in there" and stuff like that. I would love it if trainers had their unique skill sets. Pokemon have their moves, so trainers could have a list of instructions. This would make the fights even more interactive and closer to the anime fights.

I am actually working on that for my game. I am designing as an optional mechanic, like mega evolution. After you use a skill, there would be a cooldown period (depends on the skill you used), during which you won't be able to activate any skills. I am doing this for balance purposes because some skills are stronger than others. For example, dodging an attack is better most times than defending so as to get hit for less damage.

Both you and your opponent(s) will be able to use those.

I think this is a good way to approach the anime pokemon fights. But I am always open to suggestions. Do you think this is a fair mechanic? What skills do you believe should exist?

If you are interested in more details about what I have thought about this mechanic, just ask 🙂

I think it's interesting and it could work, but it would take a lot of balancing. Maybe instead of a cooldown, the skills depend on an RNG for their accuracy (or both). After all, instructing your pokemon to dodge doesn't mean it will be able to do so. The skills could also be dependent on the happiness of the pokemon, their current hp, stats and or stat changes (it's hard to imagine a shuckle dodging an attack). But overall it's a really cool idea.

I noticed Desolation's script already has the code line to detect mod files, and I myself used the sharedPC mod, so other mods should work. I would advise you to take the Reborn version of the mods though, Desolation seems to use its script files while Rejuv has some special scripts causing compatibility problems (with sharedPC at least)

That's weird, it didn't work for me. I  even deleted all mods except the shared PC one, and it still crashes the game.

Thank you so much for telling me that, both me and my friend forgot to fight Boss cuz of every other thing ahead of us.
I did get Togekiss cuz it is my favourite one and omg I got it with 31 IV's on every stat but S.atk, on that one it was 28, I think I got very lucky with Togekiss

You could even say you had... Super Luck
    I'll let myself out

I don't know if you got it, but I stumbled upon your post several days ago and couldn't try it out earlier, but yeah, you can find Thick Clubs on wild Cubones at Vejyr. Sorry for taking so long to try it out! >.<

That's great! I tried a few more times since, but gave up eventually. I guess I'll give it another go.

  11. Iiirc correctly she leads with crobat and uses u-turn every time, till crobat is her last mon. Definetely save lycanroc, for her crobat, and manectric for her milotic. Maybe lead with Camerupt, and since she'll go for u-turn just spam earth power, i dunno

  12. unpopular opinion
    Tropius (harvest)

Sitrus Berry (I'm preety sure there is one in-game atm)

Modest 252 HP 252 Sp. Attack

Nature Power (can be really op depending on the field)

Leaf Storm (replace with Giga Drain when available)

Leech Seed (replace with Substitute when available)

    Air Slash

haven't actually used one yet, but planning on breeding one, just because it looks cool

sad... i battle it.. no more dribur...

If you really want a drilbur, you can load a previous savefile, but that means, you'll lose all progress you made since.
You can go to the game file: user>Saved games> Pokemon Desolation 5
The saves are numbered, and also show how many hours of gameplay were at this point (example "844 - yourname - 37h 26m - 4 badges.rxdata." ) Choose one that seems the most appropriate (a save from before battling the excadrill) and rename it "Game.rxdata", after deleting the original Game.rxdata. Reload the game and it should resume from whenever you saved that savefile

    No Drilbur in Dreamscape

    Spoiler

You have to talk to a guy south of Odis, that says he needs help with something. Then go talk to the project manager (I think that's what he's called) at the southern settlement to get the permission to help. Go back to the first guy and talk to him again and he'll ask you to deal with an excadrill.  To find the excadrill, head to the west dreamscape (wildlands?), then go south and through and opening that is there, go east. Talk to the excadrill, but don't battle it. Go speak to the guy that told you to fight the excadrill. Go back to where the excadrill was, and instead you'll find a drilbur there

  15. Just wanted to say Volbeat and Illumise are only available at night, in case someone had trouble finding them as I did.
It'd be cool if we slowly started adding the time of day certain mons are encounterable, in the location guide. I suppose they're the same as with Rejuvenation and Reborn, but going back and forth between guides is less than practical.

I don't claim to know all the differences, but apparently:

      Hide contents

It's possible to get a/the Bad Ending. To avoid this, Nova needs to be alive and you need enough "insight". You acquire insight by reading various pieces of text (diaries, books, a cave mural) in one of the new areas introduced in E5. At some point you also get presented with an offer, which you most likely need to refuse (you probably know it when you see it). Other than that you gain relationship points with several characters if you reject the offer, and lose relationship points if you accepted it.

You also meet Tristan again. At one point you have a chance to tell him about "visions". I chose to tell him about them, and I got the impression that it was a "bad" choice.  I don't know how big of an impact this has, so any additional input is appreciated.

From what I understand, there are not too many different outcomes (story-wise) in this Episode, but rather, the choices made here will have a huge impact on future events.

    Spoiler

I think telling Tristan is a good choice. I didn't tell him, and after finishing the episode an NPC in Odis mentions that Tristan is helping the twins with something iirc. I don't know for sure but I guess that wouldn't be the case if I had told him.

has anyone done the sidequest with the 5 Grid fragments that the scientists need? If yes, how do they look like? are they hidden or visible? out in the open or indoors? they are supposed to be near the teleporters but i can't see them.

    Spoiler

They're purple. Iirc only one of them is indoors. They might not be in the same place as thye teleporter, for example

    Spoiler

the redcliff fragment is actually just south of radcliff, in Keneph Jungle

Sadly, I saved like an idiot thinking it would reset after reloading the game. So whenever I reload the game, I'm right before the dude.

Unless there's a way to restore an older save,

You can go to the game file: user>Saved games> Pokemon Desolation 5
The saves are numbered, and also show how many hours of gameplay were at this point (example "844 - yourname - 37h 26m - 4 badges.rxdata." ) Choose one that seems the most appropriate and rename it "Game.rxdata", after deleting the original Game.rxdata. Reload the game and it should resume from whenever you saved that savefile.

Also, make sure beforehand, that you have the latest version, Desolation 5.1
I hear many bugs were solved with that

I made this post at least three years ago. Unsurprisingly, a lot has changed since then. I changed many ideas surrounding Desolation's direction, this being one of them.

It doesn't matter. We all know, PC and Ava are meant for each other, even if it never happens in-game.
