I beg you pardon? Those are all Baby Pokemon? If you really did finish Elite Four with them, you should have uploaded everything on YouTube. You would be a legend by then!

I probably should have but sadly I only posted endscreens of battles on my redditposts. Most of the fights were a lot of resets and I used Litemode (starting with Hardy's gym battle). 90% of the run were resets and mostly luck (and patience) not skill. Without Litemode I wouldnt be able to do it. *ashamed*

  2. Finally I can post my till now hardest run here:

    155037423_Halloffame.png.bf9256640b21c33e255ba68b5a9b5a52.png

Bonsly was just impressive as tank with Eviolite and Suckerpunch was helpful in more situations than I could count.
Magby was great with his speed and Flamebody and nice movepool.

Elekid was similar to Magby a great helper with more moves than I ever epected it could know.

Munchlax was as expected a great tank and good hiter with Bodyslam & Rockslide after I set up with either Curse or Belly drum and Leftovers healed enough to survive.

Smochoom did a good job early and midgame and even lategame with his ice & psychic moves but the most important feat was Perish Song who saved me in multiple hard battle when Quick Claw activated.

Mantyke a Pokemon I never would have respected that much before. Tailwind Ice Wind Scald and Air Slash were just the combination I needed. Tailwind helped in so many situations when I was to slow.

Riolu was useful in certain fights as well as Pantimimi.

Bonsly was useful early game and in some fights midgame. (Dont undermatimate Poison Point.)

Togepi oh Togepi my Metronom saver. I was stuck in earlygame against Shade (and a few others) forever and Metronom saved me a lot of times after over a hundred tries.

Pichu Chingling Cleffa and Igglybuff worked well early game but soon fell off and got switched out as soon as possible.

Azurill Wynaut and Happiny as well as Tyrogue never had the chance to shine.

  3. Welcome cute lurkerkitten. (Sry I just love your profile picture)
I am also a big fan of Espeon and fairy is one of my most favorite types besides fire and normal. I wish you the best of fun and luck in your adventures. What I really love about this community is that all are really helpful and nice if you have a problem want to chat or if you are lost and there are already acutla guides for episode 19 if needed. I also had a lot of fun with Mono psychic after playing a lot of times trough the game.

  4. Normaly he should show up after you have won against Titania bought all Pokemon (which you already did) Have you rescued the daycare couple before restoration and circus arc? than Ditto should have shown up with the other daycare pokemon when you did the puzzle with them. If you didnt save them ditto should show up now at 7th street rdy to buy for you. If you didnt get ditto yet I would check 7th street out to be safe.

  5. I really like your list and I can agree with nearly everything. I am kinda surprised to see Psychic & Normal in the middle. Maybe it was just me with luck or so but I found these 2 runs the easiest with who were also my first 2. Electric and Dragon were the hardset for me as well and Fairy was the beginning and lategame a horror for me. Fire was middle hard for probably cause I didnt use Blazekin for once^^.

I really enjoy listening to the experiences all had with their monoruns.

  6. I beat the first and second e4 run with this team I started back in episode 15 I think when you still could get Magnezone & Ralts relatively early better side before they got transfered after the Cricus arc. My Flemmli was a shiny from the start of the game same as ralts. Larviatar & Hydropi I breed for them to be shiyn and Poipole I wanted to shinyhunt but was shiny on my first try recieving it as well. So I think I used nearly all my shinyluck early with gettign most of them on the first time. Naganadel was  great help with his variable movepool and Magnezone & Swampert are incredible good tanks. Blazekin recieved the megastone and most of the type sweeped enemies with his power. Guardevoir had Telepathy so in double battles it never got hit. Nearly everyone of my team had protect as well and Magnezone had toxic to rub some salt in the wounds of the enemies. MY team may not be the best but they are all my favorite pokemon and the first team I ever started reborn many many years ago. (Zekrom Path)

Most of the team is invested in Attack/spA and speed beside Swampert who recieved HP.

  7. I acquired the Sylveon in Labradorra City transfered it to the box and tried to take the Ribbon Collar of it but I only got this Error Message and the game crashed. But if I send it to my team and take the collar of there it works without problems. It only seem to happen if you try to take the collar while it is in the box. Seems to be something recent cause the first time I played trough (19.01 I think) it I send it to the box and took the collar from there without problems.

  8. I am late to the party but wanted to finish the game compeltly before posting. A big big thank you for this great game. I still remember how I first found this site many many years ago when I was searching for an Absol picture and found this one Pokémon Reborn Cover with "Pokemon Reborn" on it. I was so curious what this game is and fell completly in love with this game.
I still have the old version to remember the time when I first started and had major problems with Shelly on my very first playtrough. I loved how diffrent it was compare to the vanilla games and than I found Rejuvenation and more games as well. I love Rejuvenation and enjoyed a lot playing it but Reborn still had the bigger space in my heart even more cause of a lot of characters I fell in love with.

The improvements and changes to the early game and some characters are just brilliant and much more enjoyable than before. I was so hyped for the release of this final episode but oh man the wait was definetly worth it.

    Spoiler

The tournament battlehouse was scary storywise and also a great way to test skills and including the last gym battle. The Victory road was a little tideous at times with a lot of puzzles (big thank you for the guide or else I would have gone crazy) but just nice with the story included as well as the spirits. The nightclub was more impressive than I ever imagined and I loved the legendary puzzles story as well as that other characters had a role in it. (Big thank you for saving my favorite character Taka and second favorite Cain as well.) My heart skipped a beat when he got saved in the Reshiram route. I also love that most characters got redeemed in an interesting and even more deserved way. The only thing I didnt like was the Necrozma puzzle and the relationship points only mattering for the nightclub teamup (I assume) and that I cant team up with all people (that are alive in the nightclub) cause I guess my relationship points arnt high enough for a few. I hope one day I will find a guide  to get enough points that I can battle with everyone together.

This game is a treassure and I am so glad an thankful you shared it with all of us.

Sorry about all the questions, but I am now trying to find the New World portal leading to Mew (Triskeline Toybox, said to be in Byxbysion's wall. But I can't find it, either from the wasteland to the south or from Chrysolia Forest to the north. Might be linked to that cliff at the east border of Chrysolia Deep Woods but I have no clue on how to cross it.

    Any tip?

I hope it isnt to much information I am bad at only giving a simple tip sorry...
I flew back to the hidden cove and trough Tanzan mountain on the way to  Route 1 (where you meet Saphira before) go right. If I remember correctly you need to solve the strentgh puzzle first to make the right hole appear.
I added the link to the video in case you need it.

Could someone give me a tip as to where (and how to get to) in Victory Road is the "Tabula Rasa" with the 4 Tapu?

    Spoiler

Do you remember where you got the 4 diffrent crystals for the locked door riddle at the end of victory road? You can take the teleporters and you will find the door for each one in on of the areas.

  13. I hope I am at the right place, but I have trouble with a postgame quest. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Spoiler

Zygarde in Tourmalin Desert I tried to follow the train rails at the start when you arrive and went right when they ended but never found the door. I walked down the whole right side and no sign of it. Do I have to go somewhere else or did I misunderstand something?

  14. I am late to the party but I am having problems with the regirock puzzle. I do exactly as she says with the 2 rocks and even do it before she says her next instruction (she really speeds up which sucks) and stand on the bottom of the centerrock but still it is always wrong. Is it a bug or do I have to do something diffrent?

  15. hm how did you enter the mountain? I guess from the front. Have you tried trough the gym? In one of my runs I walked trough the gym got a cutscence with Venam (I think) and walked up the stairs and than the cutscnece for the powder happend. If it still doesnt work I fear the only way is via debug mode adding the Emotion Powder.

  16. Can you post your team and maybe tell me what gives you the most trouble? I beat them multiple times in my mono runs and my tactic was to focus on the side that gives me the most trouble and also use the Pokemon that can stay in front in everyone of the 3 battles. (I looked up at the Reborn Wiki)
Shellys Ribombee will most of the time always get the Sticky Web off. If your team is weak against Bug focus on shelly first and try to ignore cain when he hase a pokemon out that your pokemon dont have that much trouble with. What helped me was letting one of my pokemon tank if needed and either set up or sweep with both in combination. If you click fast enough you can save between battles. What a few did was using the X items that you can buy on a high floor of the shopping center (never did it but saw others do it that way) and let 1 pokemon tank set up with the other one and heal them if needed. Most of the time if possible i tried to take out rimbombbee beforei t could set up or kill marowak if it is dangerous for me.

  17. I am late to the party but still wanted to give my toughts to your well tought post. Sorry for rambling so much.

Your ideas are interesting and would fit normal Pokemon games that are easy compared to Reborn & Rejuvenation and please excuse my wording but dear god but do you enjoy punishing yourself or others while playing Pokemon? (That coming from someone who is punishing and torturing herself in a Baby Pokemon only run in Reborn)

I played trough Reborn dozens pf times and trough Rejuvenation on Casual and normal a few times and both are great games with their unique gimics.

In my opinion if I want to challenge myself in Reborn I limit myself in options (only 6 Pokemon all game no switching out etc.), do a mono/character run or do a hard punishing run like a Baby Pokemon only challenge.

    • Limit changing the field. Most of Reborn's gym leaders are in an undestructible field, I'll give them that, but a few others can be easily cheesed and demolished by changing/terminating the field. Preventing the player from changing the field drastically (besides things like Water Surface <-> Underwater or Heated Arena <-> Burning) can go a long way to ensure that most battles are going to be a challenge.

    • Removing weather setters. Pokemon with Drizzle, Drought, Snow Warning or Sand Stream, as well as the weather TMs, will remove a lot of the player's capacity to counter-cheese hard fights.

One of the biggest charms for me in Reborn are the fields and ways to find out how to beat the game with the limited options I have (like using Rain Dance against Charlotte). Without the ways to change fields or moving having a diffrent effect it wouldnt be the same Reborn it would normaly be. The way how the field work with eachother is also just a unique and great gimmic and wouldnt be the same if limited or changed.

Implementing a hard-cap to stat increases and set-up moves much lower than +6. This helps prevent the player from simply 6-0'ing after a set-up. How low the cap is, would require some testing. Perhaps only +1 in every stat, or only a total of +2/+3 across all stats are my hardest limitations.

In my opinion not every Pokemon can set up while a strong enemy is against them. Most of the time this is only possible with lots of healing while seting up or in a double battle letting your other pokemon tank the hits. If you dont want that do it like in Rejuvenation on Intense and use no items in battle this makes it way harder and sometimes impossible to set up. Also I havent had a single battle where I could 6-0 the enemy as far as I remember the major battles. I am curious in which battles you managed to do that and how.

Limiting/Removing Common Candies. The art of micro-managing exp so that your pokemon don't overlevel is heavily unexplored territory imo, and Reborn's soft level caps are a perfect system to let it flourish. Too bad that unlimited Common Candies undermines the whole concept.

This works in normal Pokemon games but in Reborn it kinda doesnt fit in my opinion. Common Candies arnt free and money is tight in the early game so overleveling and disobidience can easy kill your run if you dont use a lot of Pokemon (like mentioned limit yourself to a limited number of Pokemon). I am thankful we have them and a few wont use them and I havent in all my runs but in a few I desperatly needed them. Like I read with the change in e19 they wont be needed but for now I am happy we have them. Also sometimes I enojoy using them on some Pokemon I caught in the wild if they missed some moves I want without breeding them.

    • Making (some) TMs single-use for the entire game. I don't remember what TMs are available for Reborn, but powerful, all-around useful moves such as Earthquake, Ice Beam or Will'o'Wisp should probably have a limited use and not just be slapable into every pokemon ever. Colored parts and Heart Scales should also not be limitless as to not let the player create their dream team for every other battle.

    • Limiting/Removing EVs. Honestly, I'm of the opinion that the EV system only trivialises the game and should be gone entirely. Assuming that we don't remove it altogether, limiting the player to EV-train only up to, say, 100 points in each stat with a 400 total would make things dicy for sure.

Breaking TM's? Dear God NO. I started playing Pokemon with Red/Blue and breaking TM's were a nightmare. (Yeah I am old I know) Most of the time we never used them cause what if you wont be using the Pokemon anymore cause you found one that fits better or is overall just stronger? You dont want to swap it out cause the TM's would be wasted that way. In my first ever run of Blue I didnt use a single TM cause Brock said they break and I didnt want to waste it. (even tough it was a bad move) I wouldnt use a TM in most of my run if they would be limited use even more when we dont have most of the better moves yet. (And NO I didnt only use my starter)

If I am not wrong most if not all Gym Leaders have maxed EV and without a proper team or EV trained you are just stuck in a fight for a long time or dont have a chance. (I started training before the Glass gauntlet didnt need before) But it takes effort so not everyone does it and need to do it. It is your own choice if you want to invest time and planning if you want to do it if now just ignore it but let those do it that like it or want to do it. Why should you cripple others and even more with 100 in each stat? This will be just wasted on a lot of Pokemon most of time when I only use 1 Attack stat be it Physical or Special. Wouldnt make much sense.

  18. I am thankful for the EV training system which you dont have in Reborn. (I had to find out my own places and it takes way longer still) I was only against having it unlocked so late but now that this have changed back it is good and balanced in my opinion. You can unlock the AP for them like a few said before relatively easy. With free from the start it would be out of control in my opinion and like Blontary said use debug if you dont want to train them (every can play their own way but for me it took away a little of the game and felt strange for me). If I am not wrong you can get the beeries a little earlier than before and the IV is a great way but really strong and ok in my opinion that it is that late.

For me the charm of Reborn & Rejuvenation is that they are way harder than the classic games which is the reason I play them.

Currently the EV cards are obtainable only later in the game,

This was a problem for a lot me included but thankfully it got changed in and updated version fast. Now it is possible to unluck them from the start again with the right AP points. If you cant better check your version if it is the newest one cause a lot of bugs got fixed as well. Still a nice post and the only diffrence is that the Speed & HP rooms arn't available for free from the start compared to the past if I am not wrong.
