  1. Basically, during my battle againts Amaria, I tried to use an ether on my Serperior to recover my Leaf Storm PP, but this error showed up.

So I got stuck in the party screen, and after I mashed a bit of the buttons, I got out of it, only to be greeted with a black battle screen. The rest is a mess as I've tried using Elixir only to have my mon not recovering PP at all while fighting againts a black screen.

  2. This thread had been an enjoyable read so far. I like how you pointed out the flaws of Rejuv which most of the player usually didn't notice. It really helps those who wanted to make fangames know the do's and don'ts of making a well designed fangame and also points out areas in which Jan can improve on his game.

(...Why did you think it was a good idea to fight here?)

(......Excuse me while I run into a wall and hope it kills me)

That remark makes zero sense. Zero. Unless your hospitalized, you should be able to grab your balls and throw them at the enemy. But if she really hurt her rib cage and was having a hard time speaking, that'd make sense why she couldn't really battle.

Also, yeah. I don't get that part. If Karrina explicitly say that she hurt her rib cage, maybe it would've make better sense. But she later turned out to be okay, so it remained nonsensical.

So... it plays like a souls game?

But without the constant dying and with a pachinko machine? Maybe yes. Because Crisis Core is incredibly easy unless you play it on hard.

BONUS:  Final Fantasy VII: Crisis Core:  PLAY THIS GAME.  PLAY IT.  DO IT.  PSP Emulator.  Get one and play it.   It's a prequel to VII and it's just...so fucking good.

Erm... well, about Crisis Core. Mind if I explain why Crisis Core might not be for everyone?

I did tried playing it, but there is something about it that I just don't like about. As someone who prioritizes gameplay over story when it comes to video games. Crisis Core is just plain boring gameplay wise(in my opinion, of course). You walk around, get random encounters. So far so good... until DMW comes around.
I don't mind getting buffed by a pachinko machine, but if the game decided to pause the game every 5 seconds just to force me seeing that machine may(OR MAY NOT) roll a power surge annoys me. Not to mention that the challenge of the main game just seems lacking. Most of the time, you'll simply run around an enemies to critical on their butts. The missions, which also being the other big part of the game other than the main quest, is also repetitive. You just go there, kill the enemy that is visible outside of battle, and that's about it.

And of course, let's not forget the infamous...

    Activating Combat Mode...
    AcTiVaTIng COmbat MoDe
    ACTIvaTiNG CoMBAt MOde
    ACTIVATING COMBAT MODE
    ...
    CONFLICT RESSOLVED

(No seriously though, I got annoyed by this so much that I hugged walls just to avoid random encounters.)

The game also suffers from a difficulity problem, where it'll be either too easy(Normal), or too difficult(Hard).

@SuperNovaI'd probably suggest playing Crisis Core only if you prioritize the story much more than the gameplay(I can't evaluate the story yet because I have yet to play FF7. That game is just too old to even look at for me. :/), and you can deal with the rather repetitive and lackluster gameplay.

Welp, but it all up to you whether to play it or not to, though.

    1. Yes. Why shouldn't I? That's free XP that I miss!

    2. Yes. It isn't too hard.

    3. Ren for Zetta, and Venam for Dimensional Galvantula. Ren just plain sucks for the dimensional fight.

    4. Lolnope. I sucked, and didn't bother with priority moves just for that one fight.

    5. Yep.

    6. Nope. I'm a scrub.

    7. Yes.

    8. Already knew what's going to happen both routes, so nope.
    9. Does that even matter??
    10. Same as no 8. Police.

    11. Yep.

    12. Erin, neutral route ftw.

    13. Yes. Blame her grunts for almost killing us with the broken train tracks.

If there's one thing that's REALLY rubbing me the wrong way with the LP, it's that they've already convinced themselves that the writing is on the same tier as My Immortal. And everyone knows how bad that is.

The gameplay criticisms are at least somewhat valid in comparison. But the above is really overblown exaggeration.

This. While the LP was fun in a rather ironic way(mainly the expectation of the LP'er to whine about something else unessesary.), I can't stand on how they treated the story like a goddamn worst fanfiction of the planet.
Sure, Reborn's story has flaws(I can start ranting about the Strength arc if I want to), but treating Reborn to be as shitty My Immortal is like comparing a telling people that a narratively 'meh' movie like any of the Transformers trilogy is as horrible as Birdemic can get. I agree with Alilatias about how exaggerated that comparison is.

My previous post was more trying to find out if your path choice currently affects your access to certain items/pokemon/shops, I.E can you only go to this underground place and buy from the bladestar grunts if you sided with bladestar?

Nah. Every shop that are available is accessible in V9,regardless of which pathway did you took.

  8. 16 minutes ago, DreamblitzX said:

oh ok. do you know if it matters who you sided with in the whole darclight caves area and the resulting stuff?

    Spoiler

Exposing and not exposing Flora will result in certain events to actually happen, and certain others to not to. Expect to regret at least one thing from one route if you knew how the other went. How things ended in v9, however, seems to the same. There might be a bigger effect of the story split though. Who knows what Jan is planning for the story to go after v9.

  9. Oh, also, the Ultra Potions in my game is also bugged. Whenever I move my selection at them in the shop, a couple of error messages would show, and if I try to buy them, I'll get even more error messages and I lose money for buying them, but I didn't get Ultra Potions.

Same goes to the Black Shard(That for some reason is still in my bag) in my inventory.

  10. I'm not sure if this is intended or not(but pretty sure it isn't intended because the secret character also have her own alternate costume for past Aevium), but those who play as the secret character that you can get from the password in the game start will encounter some issues ingame.
Someone told me that their secret character turned into another character after finishing the 'controlling Marianette' sequence.
So I naturally opened my RMXP, and found these.

Switch back to player eventing after 'Controlling Emma' sequence in Blacksteeple.
    4A_xmiFxTwmITavsEz7nZw.png

Switching back to player event after 'Controlling Marianette' sequence in the Mansion Trial.

    6WrGjjerRDqlZ9lKNsdJZg.png

As you can see, there is a conditional branch for each the player character to switch back themselves(pbChangePlayer), but there's only six of them instead of 7(which is all the playable characters, including the secret character). And since the switch for the playable character is turned on when you select for your player character, and the switch for the secret character is turned on after you enter the password(which shows up after the character select session, btw.). The player will revert back to the character they selected at the game intro instead of the secret character after both Emma and Marianette sequence.

Also, another thing about this particular secret character bug, but this will be a bit into v9 spoilers section, so I'll put it instead in the spoiler tag.

    Spoiler

In the sequence in which the player gets mindfucked over Nancy and a player character copycat appearing on stage in Magnolia Theatre, there seems to be no version of this for the secret player character as well. Meaning that the copycat will also take appearance of the player character they selected at the start of the game. Is this intentional though?

Yeah, yeah, don't need to point out anything here. It's two custom battles in one go. Originally I was going to only make a fight againts my Desolation self, but Desolation Episode 4 is right around the corner, and Sena got an awesome battle theme, so I thought that a two custom battles at one go would be a great idea. Both custom battles relate to each other, so watch both!

Also comes with a very stupid but lolzy ending!

Asking if character deaths will impact the story's future is like asking if Ricegum has a ghost writer. Yes, MC deaths will be hugely impacting.

Ugh. You make me want to restart the game and edit the mons in my party so that I started off with my current team but lv5s and base forms, and pretend it's a 'New Game+', because f*ck it, I hate it when I missed a big branching event and I realized that I did way too late.

Scarlett still have to die tho. Idunlikeher.

  15. Just gonna point this out....

PSA: The 5th badge actually raises the level cap to 65. Caz f***ed up and forgot to put 65 on the square next to the 5th badge.

Tested this ingame, and my Gardevoir started disobeying on level 66.
