  1. Ah yeah I knew the battle guantlet was too tough for wild Pokemon. When I asked about it's difficulty being too high, it was greeted with replies saying reborn is tough and changing your team for each battle situation is a must. For the record I had a life orb Greninja, choice specs Noivern, Magnezone and IV bred Metagross and still came out with only 1 pokemon alive after 5 attempts.

So yeah....good luck changing your entire team.

i recall seeing that exact phrase, on a topic about breaks in lines also being said to the Male PC 1, if it helps.

Due to a bug in episode 17 the gender you selected at the start of the game is irrelevant and character dialogue will not use your appropriate gender. This can be fixed only in Agate Circus which is a bit late. There will be an npc in green shirt with a hat whom you have to talk to. He will ask you your gender again and then the characters will recognize your proper gender.

Same problem here, I activate psychic by clicking on the light blue metal but then I can't make it work

    Spoiler

The glass has to have enough space to move. If there's an open space where the glass blocks can be shifted then you can only shift the glass there. Anywhere else won't work. When you reach Espeon first, there's a glass block that is automatically moved for you. Try moving that and you'll understand how it works.

I need help with a sidequest of EP18:

I started the sidequest of the woman in the sort-of-hidden room south Calcenon, but after saying something about "Caroline's basement" (I think, I can't remember it so wel) she just disappeared and I have no idea where to search for her!

Look up how to get Torchic on YouTube. In the Calcenon gym you need to light up the tiles to form a certain pattern. The tiles that are not to be lit are the same one's as in the basement of a certain apartment in Agate city.

When did Lin ever "warp time" and bring "non existent objects into the current timeline"?

    Spoiler

The relic stone in Agate city where we had to use dive. It wasn't present in our timeline and Lin brought it out of another timeline and said life is unfair like that.

Why do you think people would inevitably rebel within her lifetime? Just looking at history, you can find plenty of autocratic dynasties that lasted centuries. Lin would just have to be strong enough to crush her opposition while the plebs wouldn't dare challenge her. There is no reason to kill everyone. This is of course assuming her plan is to rule the region/world or whatever.

I'm assuming that the plebs challenge her as well since everyone was able to get together and restore Reborn city so they would be motivated to save themselves as well. Also the theory is that Lin is immortal so she'll probably be seeing many rebellions in her life.

Regarding Lin's Hydreigon, I don't see why it would have to be some impossible level.

Because she's capable of stuff like warping time and bringing non existent objects into the current timeline. It has nothing to do with the Alolan Ninetails but just the fact that she can do crazy super power stuff so it would make sense for her Pokémon to be buff. Her Hydreigon also vaporized a mountain sized Steelix so I think it's pretty plausible. And also that it goes along with my theory of her having only one Pokémon though I guess not many people agree on that.

Listen to what Eve says about PULSE2, it allows the trainer to control the will of any Pokemon that it's attached to if they want to.

That's true I guess. It still feels really weird to me though that she would even bother with other Pokémon seeing as she doesn't trust anyone other than herself and probably her Hydreigon.

  10. I mean, she could have all the Pokémon of other people but it would be very weird for those Pokémon to actually listen to her. Especially after she killed their trainers and Reborn's system of Pokémon disobeying the trainer who isn't strong shows Pokémon can have some sort of ego.

I also don't think that we'll actually be battling the Arceus because if it can really warp reality and dimensions and especially if it has already done so once before, there's really nothing anybody could do to damage it.

  11. Well I can't write status updates anymore on mobile because the option doesn't display so I guess I'll just make this post.

In Agate city we get to learn about Lin's thought process a bit about how she thinks that the world runs by making people bow. But if too many people are suppressed then wouldn't there be a rebellion sooner or later? Then the only option would be kill or be killed. If Lin kills everyone then there'll be no one to rule. So her plan is basically doomed to fail then. At least that's my conclusion.

Also I think that Lin has only one Pokémon that is her Hydreigon but it's waay over the level cap(like level 1000). If the theory of the adult Lin being a robot while child Lin is immortal is true then it would make sense for her to rely on only one pokemon. There's only so much a child can handle after all and controlling a robot would be pretty tough. Also earning the trust of 5 other Pokémon doesn't seem like a Lin thing to me. And since she can bend time and what not it'll be pretty plausible for her Hydreigon to be way past the level cap.

    That's all for Lin.

    Yay, math time.

So the Pokemon damage formula is:

    Damage = ((((Level*2)/5+2) * Power * Attack/Defense)/50 + 2) * Modifier.

Modifier includes type advantages. Now, what this means in simple terms is that defense isn't nearly as relevant to damage prevention as it kinda implies. Only a single number is reduced by defense, that being the Pokemon in question's attack, and even that is limited due to the decreasing relevance of denominators as the numbers get bigger (that is to say there's only so small a divided number can get until you just can't divide it anymore). But by adding another *2 multiplier to the modifier you have drastically increased the damage with no similiar issues.

Pokemon is a highly offensive oriented game fora reason.

Now of course there are defensive Pokemon, but they either have extremely high defense stats, good ways to boost those stats (or both), and nearly always need a good typing to prevent being run over by a 4* weakness. Gyarados meanwhile has both a 4* weakness, and crap defenses. Meaning that if it gets hit by a 4* effective move its just done. The wacan berry more or less just lets it survive what would normally one shot it, and only once.

    Holy crap.

So basically the end result being multiplied is much more effective than one component of the equation being divided. But if suppose the end result were to be divided then the defense would be much more relevant(which it is not because that's just how the formula works). Is this damage output in actual HP? So an attack will do exactly as much damage to the HP as would be calculated here? Thanks for the explanation.

  13. Randomness is part of the game and part of the fun! No matter how much people complain about it, you will definitely know what move I'm talking about when I say focus miss. It's all part of the fun and players can bond together by complaining about such stuff too.

And suppose an Excadrill is facing a Magearna. Both opponents know each other's move sets. Magearna has focus blast while Excadrill is going to use Earthquake. If focus blast had 100% accuracy then the guy with the Excadrill would forfeit right there because Magearna can take one Earthquake and he knows the focus blast is coming. The only reason to keep playing is hoping that focus blast misses. The tension and excitement of that moment of who will win can only be created by RNG because no player has control on the outcome of the accuracy. And the winner will feel so lucky which adds even more joy to his victory. The loser can go complain about his luck with other players who will also join him because it's become a meme at this point.

It's all part of the game and I wouldn't want it removed.

maybe El will capture Anna and take into his sanctum, and after we rescue her, she'll tells us we have to fight her to prove that we can protect the key, giving an in-game reason for both her an El to use the Holy Field.

Wouldn't we already have proven to be stronger than Anna as we were able to successfully rescue her? If we beat the person who managed to capture her then clearly we're more capable of protecting the key than she is.

  15. All meteor admins are elite four and Lin is the champion. She takes over the pokemon league because the league is located in a place where the revival of Arceus will be easy. All meteor admins have six small pulse pokemon and we have to defeat them to stop Lin who's planning on resetting the entire world and wants to play God.

It didn't have over-maxed out EVs, only Garchomp did. Gyarados survived Discharge because it was carrying a berry that weakens electric moves.

    100% not possible.

I have a modest nature 31 iv 252 sp attack Magnezone using a STAB Discharge. No Gyarados(times 4 weakness) can ever survive that without EVs in special defense.

  17. Nope no choice items on 11th floor. I guess the best really is reserved for the penthouse.

(I think Indra's dragonite is choice banded and the colour you need to get is brown. I know because I trained my team twice against him.)
