I'm not sure about this but there is a chance that map or story got changed a bit so some events aren't triggered properly

I got magma drift and the scene with melia happened, after that I updated to episode 9. Now when I head to the mountain nothing happens. I know something is supposed to happen because I have played the game before

I was going around Akora forest in my second run of the game, then I interacted with one of the mankey trees and my game glitched. The only thing I can do is save. I want to finish this run before playing episode 9(Which I havent updated to yet, if it matters). My savefile will be on the post, thanks in advance.
