  1. So, I patched the game with the patch, was doing the same battle. 1v1, Chatot vs Sylveon when...

Same problems. It loops endlessly. No hail this time, no screens, but same problem.

  2. So, I literally just started E17 and the first battle as you get off the train is against Taka. This is on a run where I did not fight him in the WTC.

Anyway, it's down to a 1v2, his Chatot vs my Glaceon with Emolga in reserve. It used Breakneck Blitz and...

Here are some of the other points I can mention:

    Is it Singles/Doubles? Singles.

What Pokemon are on the field Taka's Chatot and my Glaceon.

What Field Effect is active Desert Field.

    What trainer you're facing Taka.

Your Pokemon's abilities and moves you've used I used Blizzard, I have Snow Cloak up.

    What moves were used left?

Any field conditions like screens, hazards, weather, etc I have Reflect/Light Screen and hail is up, Stealth Rocks are up on my side.

What happened in the rounds leading up to it? Not much, beyond taking out his Komala.

EDIT: Adding in the problem that his Chatot continues using Breakneck Blitz, it keeps bugging and, most notably, it skips Glaceon's turn as well.

  3. It is 99.9% going to be Mega Scizor.

    1) It was her ace in the original Reborn League.

    2) The field doubles Swords Dance gains and Steel damage. What this means is that, after a single Swords Dance, you have to deal with effectively +5 Attack Bullet Punches (The extra +1 is due to the field boosting Steel by 1.5x)

    3) Fire gets Dragon typing, which Steel resists. Thus, it's lone 4x Fire weakness is nerfed to a 2x Fire weakness which, combined with Mega Scizor's already high bulk...yeah.

I will legitimately and genuinely be surprised if her Mega turns out to not be Mega Scizor.

For Dratini, maybe we still have hope ( if Titania or E17 will give us Rock Climb ). Larvitar is also can't be ruled out yet as it fits in the desert.

Except if we get Rock Climb, then Dragonite, Hydreigon and Tyranitar would become available at the same time because they all require Rock Climb. And at this point, there is only one line left to reveal, so...

And what if Honedge's event is in any way related to Titania (whose only 'mon that we know of is Aegislash)? Also, how many more lines are we getting for 17?

Um, we have already seen her use Excadrill and Skarmory, plus her ace in the original Reborn league was Scizor, so it is safe to assume those will be on her team. As for E17, pretty sure there are 2 more lines left, unless Ame pulls another surprise Legendary/Mythical reveal.

  6. I still strongly recommend going for Icicle Crash because Mamoswine in general cannot take hits all that well. It can survive one hit, but that's about it. Plus, Mamoswine is not that slow, it can generally outspeed quite a few Pokemon and it's huge attack stat means it can deal huge damage. Plus, Icicle Crash has a high Flinch chance. There's a reason almost no one else ever uses Avalanche on anything except for Avalugg and maybe sometimes Walrein.

If you insist on going for Avalanche, though...it's hard to say, as it says that you have to have bred it in an earlier generation. Otherwise Mons like Dewgong and Walrein could be able to breed it after breeding Avalanche onto them.

  7. Avalanche is...not a good move on Mamoswine.

Avalugg can get away with it because it's speed is already extremely low, so it's almost always going to go last (Avalanche has negative priority). Mamoswine has decent speed that it does not want to waste on a move that forces it to go last.

You are much better off breeding with a Beartic for Icicle Crash, a much better move for Mamo.

I hope it'll be kommo-o and dragonite. Or is it's ability Multiscale and power and defenses just too much?? Also, wow we're just getting Titania's ace?? Maybe it's obtainable only after the gym.

Dratini is only obtainable in a location that requires Rock Climb. If we were to get Rock Climb, we would be able to obtain the other two Pokemon that require Rock Climb: Tyranitar and Hydreigon (Not counting the Dark Material trading as valid, it's a blatant exploit). That is why we won't get Dragonite this episode.

No, similar to reborn, the strongest ones (and a few others probably) are unavailable outside of starter selection (Until later versions).

For the most part, that is true. However, you can get Mudkip after getting Rock Climb, which kind of break this mold, being one of the strongest starters.

Beyond that, yeah, generally you can expect the stronger starters to be unavailable until later.

Darius could see more guards approaching. Whether it's a coincidence or someone had tripped an alarm of some sort, what mattered right then and there was that they were running into more guards. Beyond the soldier that he prepared to strike, he saw a stairway up, guarded my more guards. But he did not care for that right now. His focus was on dealing with the soldier in front of him, at the doorway. The tome, despite it's tattered form, started to glow and he could see the tendrils of darkness slam into the guard. They force their way into his body and start ravaging him from the inside. The soldier does not even get a chance to scream as his body body spasms and writhes from side to side before eventually falling limp, a fine black mist seeping out from the armor, the elder spirits having practically devoured his body. Nothing remained of the guard as the steel shell clatters to the ground, Darius' tome returning to it's old and worn form.

"Hmph. While I don't exactly appreciate such displays of power, at least it happened at a time where I can not complain. Here's hoping the other guards are too intimidated by this display to do anything."

As of V9 you cannot obtain the Mega Ring, nor any megastones to my knowledge. you'll have to wait til later in the game.

Not entirely true. You can obtain either Banettite or Heracrossite. Aside from that, yeah, no Mega Stones or Mega Ring.

Charizard is not that bad, but surely you should have realized that you wouldn't have gotten Charizardite X because it would have broken the game's balance wide open.

  12. Well, I gave a fair bit of thought and decided "Sure, why not". I was hoping to be able to do it after university, but I don't have that luxury of time, so...alright. Let me quickly get something formed.

    Spoiler

    Pokémon: Glaceon
    Name: Amelia
    Gender: Female
Personality: Gentle, somewhat naive, loyal almost to a fault, emotional.
Moveset: Hail, Water Pulse, Frost Breath, Blizzard, Mirror Coat, Icy Wind, Ice Beam, Ice Fang, Aurora Veil and Sepia Spice.

Held Battle Items: Lum Berry, Icy Rock, NeverMeltIce.
    Font Color:
    Cyan Blue
    Story:
Born to her Vaporeon mother and Jolteon father alongside her brothers and sisters, the first few years of her life were fairly simple, enjoying a simple life with her family and friends in a small village, now long gone. However, one day it all changed when a roving gang of vicious Pokemon appeared and attacked. Amelia was barely able to escape with her life, but her family and everyone else from the village was not so fortunate.

Alone in the world, she went to wandering the wilds. While she would be quick to befriend those willing to help her, she often just wandered off again, exploring the world, evolving to her Glaceon form at some point. By now, she had fully learned to stay self-sufficient and survive in the open wilds. This came to a head when she ended up wandering into a cave system that just so happened to be connected to a bunch of magma caverns that she wandered into by accident. She almost died and the only reason why she survived was because she got rescued by a wandering group of explorers.

The group decided to let her live with them and travel with them, for which she was truly grateful. However, this did not last long as the group soon split apart after a fierce argument broke out over whether or not to help protect a small hamlet. Amelia could not handle the arguing and ran away. Once again on her own, Amelia would continue wandering the region, helping those in need when she is able. She is ready to fight tooth and nail to protect those that give her any sort of kindness now. Yet, deep inside, she longs to join a group of explorers or other folks to go around and helping Pokemon in need, like she was helped from the brink of death.
Details: She is of a gentle nature, yet still prefers sour-tasting food the most.

She is quick to befriend and quick to forgive, but abuse her trust one too many times and she will never forgive or forget.

She tries to avoid fighting if needed, trying to talk or negotiate first. However, she is not afraid to get down and bloody if it comes to it.

Amelia is not afraid to sacrifice her own life to save those of her friends, if it comes to it.

She can be a bit emotionally unstable at times.

I did not know exactly how to write a good backstory in this case. I knew what I wanted to write, but I did not know how to set it in the region, so...I hope this is good. If not...well, I won't really be able to edit much while in university, so...yeah.

If I'm good, though, then my Discord is Anstane #6534
